@mxwllmdr-Thanks man! But still need to add the pic! Could I have some help please on how to insert the pic into sig (because I’ve tried it before but pic didn’t come up)?
Hi guys,
Update time! Note: text wall!ll!
Got some more work done on the trukk! Or now may I start to call it a battlewagon? Need's load more rivets! The driver part isn’t finished yet, still need to do top which I'm going to do so you can lift it up and down, using either some brass or plastic rod. Thinking about thickening up the engine panels by pulling them off and adding another layer or plaster card, on all bits. Did a mock up of the finished battlewagon, added extra armour panels to help show armour value 12 on the front like the wheels and under the vehicle. I am also wanting to making a scratch built caterpillar track on the back part of the trukk, and still need to do the boarding planks (Stuck on really what to do apart from using rhino doors). The part which will hold the turret will have the grill cut off, and have added additional panelling to the side extension parts!
Respect HAZZER to your modeling and your acceptances to the league...... i will try and follow you as soon as i get some greenstuff i will start rivetting everything

Cool, thanks fatty! Will look forwad to it man!
Ok guys, I've been looking on the web and stuff and have found that the only set which does some grots fixxing things is in the stopa kit and can't find just the crew on ebay. So does a anbody have any ideas? I belive Fw may do some grechen for a bout £16?
Hi guys,
Just got some more pics of the trukk and what I'm thinking of going to do with some grots! the 1st is going to be the grot gunner for the big shoota, 2nd is going to be riviting gun thing (Forgot propper name for it) with portable power source and 'rivet box', and fialy the 3rd is the drill so the 2nd and 3rd will act as a riviting team! sorry for bad pics any other ideas for the rest of the group?
fatty wrote:i have a grot picking his nose while holding a wrench? that one comes with the battle wagon kit....... if you want it i can mail it to you......
Thanks a lot fatty really apreshate it but can't! Thanks any way though!
HONAW wrote:So Hazzer........ Which army do you prefer as you have two going on right now? That battlewagon is going to be sweet!
Space marines by far! Love the indeph background and many various chapers. Would only whish if GW could do some specal rules for the ultras, like some new characters! But the only problem is that the ultramarines are the role modle chapter so can't really have their own codex, thats why they are mostly in the SM codex. Still whish that they could do a ultra codex though. Maybe when 6th edtion 40k comes out in the summer they may do one! Why thats yours?
Yup! Or a more gerenal releice for SM for instace a comader in termie aroumor plasticc set, Captain Urail of the ultrs 4th company charcter, a cheif acpocfary character, MOTF, a all in one LD set, ect.
HONAW wrote:Blood Angels..... I just think they are pure awesomeness! Anyway, wish I had the plasti card skills of you my good sir!
I kinda like BA's I'm thinking about collecting them soon tbh!
no no no no no, no ultra codex no, the normal dex already has like 5 spec HQ choices for ultras, as well as tellion. do any of the chapters really need there own codex's? (apart from the ones that already have them)

Ultras!LOL! ok I kidd! The Imperal Fists need one and so do the Crisism Fists. Samalders, White Scars all 4 need new characters too! Because they only have like one each!

But they all have forgeworld models and stuff instead!
good progress on "Da Big Trukk". the panels, patches and girders look authentic.
Remember that the battlewagon is AV14 at the front. I feel like the business end still looks a little too ramshackle. Could I tempt you into sourcing (or scratching) a vindicator siege shield type affair up front?
As for converting grots... I can't really help you out too much there buddy. I like your idea for the riggers. I've just used the grot rigger from the BW upgrade sprue (the one with goggles and a big spanner) and given him the tool box that comes with the SM vindicator.
Oh, and I've decided against the looted valk! :( I'm gonna try and knock up a chinork template. It's harder but I think it'll be worth it.
You could extend its length by removing the middle axle and refitting it aft of the rear axle. that woud give you the option of bulking the transport capacity up in the same manner as the flanks...

Looking great though mate. Good mekkin'
Thanks Davidian,
for checking out my thred! I'ts nice to see your liking my conversion too! For the grots I'd decied on doinfg some 'suttle' conversions for instace, using a gun, but cutting it down and adding plastacard to it ect! For the extened back, I'm thinking about making a scarch built catterpilar treds, which will look a lot like the battlewagon ones!
Btw guys, just letting you know that I've have done some work on the trukk today, and will upload pics tommrow.
Hi guys,
I'm posting today to let people know a couple of things;
Firstly I have got some work done on the trukk, but only some riveting.
Secondly, I have started the grots!
Thirdly, I'm going to be tacking a break from dakka for a while, but only a couple of weeks, so I will still be alive!
Finally, I still will try to visit your threads but won't be constantly visiting,
Just thought you may want to know to that I haven’t just abandoned all of you.
Hi guys,
Update! Now I know it’s been a very long time since i was on dakka! This is because of a poor internet connection, going away for about a week and being busy at school.
Anyway, I've got a huge update! Firstly I’ve gone through 2 faulty replacements for my Warhammer 40k 25th anniversary model, I received the second one today and called up customer services and the guy said that he will give me a poster for my troubles! I've also managed to get my hands on a games day 2008 model from a friend which was stripped of paint. Do any of you remember the big bunch of guys which I got for any 2 for a pound? Well I when I was away I managed to get some more! As many of you know GW is changing their paints because of copy right porpoises, I’ve been paint mad! And have bought a large selection of paints, all of the paints apart from 3 were a pound each. And I've still got more to come! I should have another update later today with work on my truck conversion.
I also got some blades, thick and textured plasticard and a metal ruler. These were all from a model shown where the nice guys from warlord games gave me a firelock guy from the English civil war. He looks like he’s a parliament guy. If you don't know look up the 1st English civil war on Google. I also got a brush from their stand too.
Thanks guys for the comments! All of the figures will be stripped and re-paintedat some point. I've got some work done on the cattpar tracks but not enought for an update. So I geuss you will have to sit tight! basicly got some templates made, ill explain all of this tommrow!
Paints for a pound!! hereasy!
no cool dude, wish i had cashed in on something like that. also quite like the look of the guy with the thunder hammer, want to see where he is going
mxwllmdr wrote:Hey,Hazzer. Good to hear from you. Now back to work......
Will do man!

LOL! Thanks man! I was kinda lucky but the shop has stopped selling and GW stuff so they were trying to get rid of it.
Hi guys,
Update. Basically what I want to do is to scratch build Caterpillar Tracks, which should look orky! Basically I'm using 1.5 mm thick plasticard which will be the basis for the track, this will then have 3 pronged pieces sticking out , with 2 one way and the other in the middle pointing out the other. I will then have a second smaller piece on top; this may have an additional textured piece of left plain. Spikes will be added for extra grip and orkyness! The pronged pieces will be the part holding the whole track as a whole together, with the same rod used for riveting going through the holes on the pointed out pieces. Hence making this a miniature caterpillar track that could work all by itself if it had a motor in it... So this is the basis of the design which sounds very complicated, but don't worry form my 2000 post I'm going to write an article on it to try and help explain it far better!
Anyhow, I will be having 3 different sizes for the main tracks which I was making "prototypes" for, so I knew what would work with what. The sizes which I have come up with are; Small, Medium and Large. I'm afraid that I can find the piece of paper which has the measurements on atm but I will give you them tomorrow. These all fit on each over, with Small on Medium, and Medium on Large this will make the tracks on the rear bigger, whilst the frontal tracks replacing the front wheels will be smaller. I need to cut out 20 small pieces, 60 Medium pieces and 40 Large. Then 360 small pronged bits, yup sounds like a lot! Thats why its been taking me so long, so far I've done about 23 Large bits today.
One I have done all of that, there will be more! With more armouring on the tracks and other stuff but I'll explain that later...
Until then I have a diagram which should help explain it (Btw I have got some work done today but has been cutting out lots of rectangles!) ,
if you have someone on the backburner for casting stuff...cast those... i made around more than 300 for two tanks...and it is really sinane work...we are not talking rivet zen here... for this you have to make so many cuts... that might destroy you... and i know what i am talking about...
to really understand what you want to do i think we need some examples of your tracks... then it will become more clear...
good luck mate!
oh...and just as a side note... the sig size can be altered too... so if you change the size of those letters you can still show the banner...

Thanks Vik really helps! I was thinking of casting them in White Metal at school, but dident have time. Unforchanly I don't have any resin either so I geuss I'm going to have to go insane once I finish this project.
you can cast in white metal in school...how cool is that??? well...i say make so many as you see fit and sort out following problems afterwards... one might never know where a casting buddy might come from...

Would love to, but aint going back to school untill after easter. (Easter holls).
mxwllmdr wrote:Really good to have you back while you were here, Hazz....
Thanks man! I hope that you will love the end result.
Update- I cut out most of the pieces on Sunday and was a away on Monday. I've being doing my school project yesterday and will be doing that for the rest of the week to finish it off. The sizes for the tracks are;
Small-5mm by 1.5cm
Meudium-6mm by 1.8cm
Large-8mm by 2cm
These have all been designed so Small can go into Medium and Medium can go on top of Large. I'm also going to cut out some thin textured and none textured pieces of the same size to make the tracks more random and orkey!
Ok,
Hi guys, sorry for the lack of updates recently! I've been losing a bit of interest in dakka in past fortnight of so, but I do have a modelling/ kinda painting update! Sicuris! In Failcast sorry Finecast, which I assembled and undercoated yesterday and will be painting tomorrow! Btw I'll will be leaving the tracks and whole battlewagon on hold whist I get ready for GD, which will mean me painting many test pieces to help 'perfect techniques like NMM, shading, skin tones, smerf armour ect. I'm quite pleases with how thin the undercoat is meaning its less clogged up than usual, anyway until then...
Btw- the first pic is a little grainy because I started spraying then remembered pics!
Your focus in your pics is on the background, making the mini in the foreground fuzzy and out-of focus. Try zooming in if you don't have a digital macro feature.

Sorry for bad pics, they looked fine on the ipod, its too late now anyway cause its now sprayed black!!!!

Thanks man! Hope to get basecoat done and hopefully a wash, perhaps even 'black lining' into the recesses (putting black into recesses) and some hilighting, but am also painting a Blood Raven for my school club. Shame its kept at school!;'(
mxwllmdr wrote:Hey, hazz, good to see ya updating. I, too, know the rigors of a busy schedule.....
I think, however, that you had it right the first time. Failcast, that's rich.....
Thanks man, but for finecast all im goign to say is 25th aniversery marine.
Hi guys,
update! Here is Sicarius as I promised with painting started, all I got done today was basecoat, shading (may do more) and re-appling baaecoat! Took a lot of pics, some are a bit burlery, alos tried out some nes backrounds for taking pics which were found by Reaperman2020! And thanks again to him for finding them! I'm afraid that I can't find the web address, oh well I'll I find it later,
Hi guys,
Update! Got some more work done on him yesterday, managed to re-shade him and then re-applyed the bascoat as 'a guide' for the hilights. After this I got the 50/50 ultramarine to mordain bule done, and pure ultramrine bule on the main body of Sicarius but have yet to get pure hilgts on the rest of the parrts. I managed to tidy up the backpack a lot making it look far better. Whilst painting I've been looking at the Evay Metal modle, which has hiligts around the MK8 neck peice, what i have done in that area instead was a rather blochey, light source hilgiting. So should I either copy Evay Metal or continue, tbh I like both types.
Sorry HAZ, jumping on the same photo band wagon. I'm sure your work is getting better but I have no way of telling. Did you hire Zapruder Photography to take your pics for you? Or maybe Patterson-Gimlin Adventure Tours?
All poking aside, it's good to see you are stiill around and active. Looking forward to seeing your work at some point.

Btw: I've got some more RT stuff from mr postman yesterday which I'll be posting pics of later...
Hi guys,
Mega update incoming! Hi, I've been getting a lot done recently but haven’t had chance to upload it onto dakka so here goes;
Firstly I've finally got a decent replacement model for the anniversary figure as well as a poster because of waiting 3 months for it... (I also got another one through the post today from eBay). My anniversary fig will be a commander in a RT Sterngurard squad witch will have a RTHB in it also... (Just a RTBo1 marine with a metal HB).
Secondly, do you guy’s remember the RT rhino that I got a while back? Well I've now got some RTBo1 marines to go with it as well as 2 of the first metal mins too! There are 5 RTBo1 marines with 2 still on the sprew and RT101 marines Brother Merdith ( the bas ass wounded marine with eyebrows!) and Brother Hamlton. I also got a Nina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is painted as well as Brother Hamlton that will put into some nail varnish remover tonight? In the auction lot that I won I've got the equivalent of 3 RTBo1 sprews!!!!
Thirdly, I now have 8 honour guards. (6 guys who I have 3 of the same and a banner bearer and chapter champion, there will be some converting between the normal honour guard). Stay tuned for this...
Finally, Sicaruis armour is done and the NMM gold is nearly done but, not finished yet!
Btw, should get some more work done onto the anniversary guy today and perhaps his squad...
aye... the stuff you got looks probably too cool already but the pics...eh? you know? well^^
and well since you want to show us your go on NNM maybe you could get some help from a friend or someone to make a decent pic... sorry to put salt into your already rotting wound here

Nice score on all those RT Beakies! I love those. I have quite a few of them and would be happy to play them as a Renegade Chapter but I built them all w/ 2nd Ed rules and 5th Ed is so disgustingly vanilla that almost my entire army is illegal. Yes, I just took another opportunity to swing at 5th Ed. I've disliked it since the first time I played it. Looking forward to it taking a seat in history next to Windows Vista and New Coke.
And also... I know you get ragged on for this a lot, but there's a reason. Your photos are terrible. Hold off on buying new miniatures and get a real camera. Also consider somehting to use as a "tripod". You don't need a fancy photo box or special lighting, there's a few basic and easy steps you can take for decent looking photos. All of my pics have been taken w/ a Canon PowerShot A480 and my lighting is two properly positioned desk lamps. I usually use a stack of books as my "tripod". You've seen my pics, most are reasonably decent.
The PowerShot I have can be picked up online for aappx $100 US (which is around £65)
I looked up some cameras that might be closer to home for you:
You have a cool collection and you're very active on Dakka. Pictures really do matter and really will help you get more positive feedback and/or constructive suggestions.
Please understand that I'm not making fun of your pics or of you. I'm hoping this helps. I'd really like to see your work.

Hi guys,
this is my half-assed update for half term. Normally I would have about 10 updates throughtout the week but I am currently getting some stuff ready for my 2000 post... So I have got some work done.. Anyway yesterday and today I've been at 2 shws were I've managed to get the Crashed Aquaillar Lander and 3 CoD buildings 4 bases and a IG figure for £10. I've also got 2 more sable hair brushes and some milliput standerd, I also got some lettering annd numbering transfers. The Crashed lander has a tail peice missing but I'll make a replacement out of plasticard, the IG I'll probally paint up to be a test peice for a IG Maccage PDF themed army that I would like to do for 6th Ed. Yesterday I managed to get some 3 and 6mm embossed lettering which I'll be making the words ULTRA and ULTRAMARINES (there was only capatiol letters) and backing them up plastercard rectangles with rivets which can then be cast in white metal. I also got some modle railway N gauge (Airfix size) scale Signal Bases and Westen housing pumps for decorating bases with and, some brass eching barbed wire. I've only got about 15 or so posts till post 2000... so state tuned...
I've also 'borrowed' my sisters SD card so I can use my camera again I'll be taking some more detailed pictures soon to see if they make a difference, if it's decent enough I will use that instead.

Hi guys,
this is my 2000 post!!!!! What Ihave decied to0 do for this is because I'm wanting to enter GD I need to do test peices, so I thought I can show my progress on The Road to Golden Deamon! So basicly have all my meatl mins which have been stripped then built and undercaoted. These I have then started to do the blue to (only the hounor guard) and will finish these guys and if I have time do some more before GD, I'm going to give myself the summer hoildays and a bit longer to build and paint to modle. This is cutting it fine a bit but should be manageable. Anyway to pics, I have 7 hounor guard, marous in both termie and power armour, both 08 ltd edtion modles (web and GD guys), a termie libby, and thats about it exculding sicuris and some RT guys that I've asemlbed that I'll post pic of later.
Viktor von Domm wrote:you are a brave man to attemtp NMM ...braver than me at least^^
Thanks Vik, but I'm using the Eavy Metal paint book so its kinda like cheating.. Its pretty easy to do, bascaot then blend up using bleached bone and add shades and line hilights... Well once you get the hang of it that is...
lol... if it gets you to have cool looking minis...there is no cheating...well of course buying already painted to high class standard minis would be the exception of the rule obviously^^

There's another exception to that- buying moderately painted miniatures and painting them to a higher standard. I've done it a few times.
Rule bender! lol! Sounds pretty good, which minis have you done that too? I geuss its a good way to add our own touch to a modle or if you don't have time to paint a full mini..
I have maybe 30 Plague Marines that I scored on eBay that showed up in good enough condition that I didn't rip them apart and repaint, I just added some detail that tied them in with my existing force. I've also got about 30 IG I bought that were so cool that they changed the color scheme of the rest on my IG, my PDF, and my Imperial terrain.

Cool! Sounds pretty good, thats the good thang when you can find kinda good modles, I gotloads of seneray for £10 and was all undercoated black and had boltgun put on parts, inculding a building with all the details piced out with silver... IBut I've mostly only got guys undercoated which is a good and a bad thing...

Still rule bending..
dsteingass wrote:I'll be interested to see your NMM! I saw that in the HM book too, but I have not yet had the balls to try it.
Before I ahd done it it seamed really hard but all it is putting down the basecaot then adding snakebitle lether with more and more amounts of bleached bone every time then washes...
Hi guys,
after hours in the bigmeks workshop, under strick instructions not to stop utill it was fixed I found the problem, a bit of fungus had been caught in the camra meaning all of da exta bitz werent needed. Anyway the mek now trusts me to run the blog again without any hiches (thats what he thinks)! So basicly I've finished the armour and started the NMM gold on the guys, I have also included a cose up of he banner and MK 4 and 5 armour left leg peics too. One of which I'll be doing on my GD fig, there is aldo a MK5-6 shoulder peice that I may be doing on the fig as well.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Hi guys,
Found this rather good fists blog that is lacking subbers atm, check it out if you wana is pretty cool.. Btw have been painting more of the NMM gold onto the guys and should have it finished soon...
Gitsplitta wrote:NMM is pretty ambitious... never tried it myself. Good luck!
Thanks alot gits!!!! I've been doing some more work to em recently and are looking a tad better, all I need to do is a final blending layer or 2 and then add washes then add skukll white hilights...
I think you need to make the layers thinner and try a blue wash over all of it before the next layer until finally finish off with the final layer of white which should be really thin. Photos are much better too Haz.

Do you mean the armour? Becuase I'm pretty much finished with it. So pherhaps making the fnail hilghts smaller? And do you mean a blue wash to tone it down a bit?
Sorry, re-reading that it isn't clear, I did mean the blue armour. The washes just blend it better with a final unwashed really thin white high
Iight over the last washed white highlight.
Reaper Man 2020 wrote:Sorry, re-reading that it isn't clear, I did mean the blue armour. The washes just blend it better with a final unwashed really thin white high
Iight over the last washed white highlight.
Thanks Reaper! Btw the final edge hilight that is a tad too thick is SW grey.

dsteingass wrote:What kind of brushes are you using Hazzer? It looks like your brush is doing more than you want it to?
I'd highly recommend getting one of GW's basecoat brushes, the design lets your paint only go exactly where you want it to, yet flows nicely.
Thanks dsteingass! I've got the basecoat brush but perfer to use the Eavy Metal sab le hair brushes that are a standered and large brush and I've got two over sable hiar brushes too and use a very smal brush from army painter to do fine hilights....

I've nearly finished the building sculpting side odf it but it encororates every type of mark armour and extra hounor badges and awards and stuff. the senic plynith is done just needs a qwick go with the airbrush. I painted up a test nid that ive nick named "derris"9will be in the plynith) but should be able to get painting soon..But It will be lucky if it gets done on time....Fingers crossed

Hi Hazzer. Really liking this blog, especially the tanks' weathering. Truly great technique. The blue is a very nice tone. I'm curious as to what colour you are using? I have only 3 myself (Mordian and Ultramrine that is my brother's and my own Enchanted) and I really want to try that colour sometime.
Your space marines are very nice, however I do think the detail work could use a little work.
Overall however I enjoyed the 2-3 pages I read. Keep up the good work .

Thanks alot Deadshot and wellcome to my blog!!!!! My current color scheme is mordain bule (or adofl guard bule with some black added), 50,50 mix of black (you chose) and regal blue (or kantor bule) wash, then ultras bule (or maccage bule) and finial hilights of space wolfs grey (or the fang). Hope those are the correct equlanvants... These are all blended up to pure sm grey, the way I blend it is rather complacted but ive used ultras blue and sw grey as an example.
Ultras bule,
3:2 Ultras bule to sw grey,
50, 50 mix
2:3 ulteas bule to sw grey
then just pure sw grey, hope that helps....
Thanks for that Hazzer! I know what you mean, I did it myself for one of my models (though in red) where I start at a ratio, reduce the ratio untill its 50:50 and then reverse the ratios. It does give a very nice gradient. Thank you and good luck with your project.

No probs man, and thanks I hope that it will be as good as my enthusaium is for it atm....
Firstly, I want to say sorry for not updating for the last 6 months this has been because of a viraty of things such as a family member as well as entering golden daemon spending the summer working on that. As well as this school work has been a priory too as it will mean me getting a job at the end of my education. I would like to also thank my subscribers who had offered help and cirtziem as well as generally being nice towards me each other and helping the war gaming community that is on dakka.
Secondly, in have started work on multiple things if it be the finishing of a model or starting a new army all of which has happened. I will show you my finished golden daemon entry which ended up falling miserably however I did record it on the way.
To start, I drew out plans and made a final design which I tried to follow out to the end ill show you a scanned in copy of it here too. the problem was it was a week till the compation and the NMM was ruined and I did not have time to re paint it. I eventually ended up using a existing model and the plinth made before to enter it. To summerise personally I feel that the plinth lost me the compation as I had little time to use and spent a large proportion of that on making it. I also think that I over estimated the sculpt time needed as I would have to repair some parts and add to others. Finally I think that it helped to push both my sculpting, painting and conversion skills as well as improving in all of these areas too.
Thanks for reading I got a Nixon V1 for Christmas so the pictures should be a lot better. Hopefully no more carppy pics;
HAZZER.
P.S. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I will try to say him regurly even if it’s once a week as I have something close to a page and a half of subscribed threds.
hmm, hazzer i am kinda picking up on a trend here. I have a hard time making the depth of the model out. You have a lovely paint job, but it seems to be blocking the deep details from my eyes. perhaps it is the lighting?

thanks cormadepanda for replying! tbh the modle is quitedark however, it proalbaly is the lighting as it was from one side only, i reallt need anouther lamp and a light box!!!!!
Hey HAZ, nice to see you back on Dakka! I have to agree that your pics show the potential of awesomeness that your work has but do not deliver the desired results. New pisc w/ better lighting would be great.
Hey Haz, welcome back! There's a lot of good in that figure & I think a second light for shooting the photos would help show it off. Neat work on the pedestal too. The cloak is really vibrant and I like the extra painted on detail. Nicely done.

well firsts things first i need to get em first lol! when i habve chance ill digg out the second light however on light will have to do forr now and i have just finisined doing alot of phots too....
In my last post you may of noticed that I said about an army, well does anyone rember my smerfs? I have decided to redo the army from the 2nd company to the 4th. The aim of this army is to make it a fluffy one, I started work on it during mid November over the break and will show that I have got done in the next few following posts, the only thing reaming however, is a command squad and the friggin commander itselft!!! The army will be set either after the 5th book or the 6th but will probably go with the 6th as that is when the company gains squad names ect. Each squad will have different heldry using old and new codex pattern markings. As well as one marine being true scale as described in the book.
I have lost the army list but the army will be used around the ultramarines books by Graham Mcnell from black library. I’m considering using a rang of tequniqes for the army such as pre shading and zenthil hilighing (hope that’s the correct spelling). As well as this because I,m poor or will be after and cannot afford the amount of FW components needed I will be doing some sculpting work. (im not really but tbh I want half of my army to be FW so 50+ FW mk armour marks equals a lot of dosh lol).
To start of may I present to you tactical squad panious;
Glad to see you back I have been away for about 10 months myself.
The command squad shows potential, but as mentioned by others you need more light :-) I ended up with 5 lights in my new man cave just for painting and photos :-)
Nice start on the improved photos. Do suggest you put your light source in front of the models. If you look at pic 1 and 2 you can see deep shadows. In pic 3 you have some decently lit models. Try lighting from the front and I'll bet you'll be very happy w/ the results.

Welcome Back Hazz! Been awhile man! I have to agree, not enough light, and I can tell it's a soft white bulb coming from the right From talking to Weety, I understand that daylight bulbs are harder to come by in the UK than they are in the US...

hi guys may i bee the first to wish everone a happy new year ill put up a update either later today to tomrrow during 2013!!!!!! beleive it or not we servives the apocaylise!!!!!!!
I thought I may put a post about Gamesday and what that was like.
For me GD was great as it was the first time that I had ever been, I got my first ever FW model (40k ltd one) and some ultra transfers. I didn’t really get chance to take pictures however I will do of the models. I will go back next year but the price is still up for debate luckily my ticket cost £12 as I exchanged some WDs that I had got extra through the post. I got some free scenery too in the form of tank traps!!!!!
For me the crizsem would be the quews for the sales stand was so large it nearly put me off luckily mum stood in there for me lol. That’s what parents are for eh? The organisation of the conversion corner and scenery building workshop were good but many people were able to push in because of the lack of staff on there. Lastly the promotion of it by GW I feel was completely different when compared to what I imagine it to be. I guess they tried to make it seam larger that it really is lol.
That’s just my two cents.
Btw more work has been done to the squad’s heres a teaser. i also got my sternguard squad finished too using RTBo1 sprews and the 25th anivery mini
I managed to get some more work done on the guys and another two squads have been competed. Tac squads namman and the other one lol- the plasma bringers. Ok so points heavy* but still anyway ill let the pictures do the talking.....
HAZZER
*by points heavy I mean on one squad a plasma pistol, gun, cannon and power fist its like 230 pts!!
MK VI armor remains my absolute favorite Space Marine release by GW. Fun to build / pose, and have multiple options. The Missile Launchers are the best ever (IMO), the flamer has a canister that looks like it might get at least 2 shots off, they still had Needle Guns, etc. Great stuff from a great time.
Some might say they lack detail. Whatever. They are huge on spirit and history. MK VI armor came into existence right after the start of The Long War and is still around 'today'. I notice that the newest armor (MK VIII) never caught on, I only saw it on... 1 miniature? Can't remember exactly as it was a long time ago.
Anyway, looking forward to what you do w/ those classics!

Thanks stalk!!!!! tbh i really love the FW versions of em but the pirce puts me off as it could be done in plastic. ive got some more work done on sculping some more peices but lost a pair of legs tat took me ages to do!:( im wanting to have different armour marks in each squad as they all dont have the same in the Ultra second co pic in the dex. So really thats where my insperation came from for it! I know what you mean aboutt the MK8 armour but personally a dont mind it.

Hi,
Got some more work done in the past fortnight!! Have no Scholl as of the snow, got my first assault squad done and started a devastator squad too. Also when I woke up I saw this (first pic). Ok so most of my guys are build now about half and im now thinking about colour schemes. To do this I’m thinking about trying about different recipes and under coats. 4 will be my recipe (undercoated white, black, grey and a mix of the 3 for some pre shading) then another 2 will be undercoated white for another recipe and the last one black for another recipe. This is kind of confusing but will be about 8 marries or so. Possibly more. Ive got some more sculpting done also and will be trying to get more done today so there may be another update too. Hope you guy’s aren’t confused!!!!
No, belive it or not it was a new blade luckly so a clean cut.. I use none sterlie, sergical blades so ya atleast it wasnt blunt or a stanly! lol.. Sensi say tho who uses big stabby thing (also known as a knife) incorrectly will cut themselfs...
That must be a UK thing, can you guys buy surgical stuff on every corner there? old-fashioned #11 X-acto blades are much more predictable IMHO....and cheap.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Surgical blades are designed for cutting soft tissue, perhaps it's not the right tool for cutting plastic? I have a couple, but I don't like them, the blades are only curved (which is anathema to cutting a straight line), and the blade and handle are not separate, once it's dull, you have to throw the whole thing away. Perhaps yours are different?

Well yea I geuss so lol...There not rare, but can be hard to come by...I mean most wargaming shops dont sell them it more the modle railway/airfix/proper old fashened modle shops where arme mostly found, i have a amszing modle shop 35 mins away, sells warhammer but is at RRP but them still has loads of OOP kis unopened new there see they still have like 40 odd blisters!!! But tbh for 40k i got to my flgs that is about 35mins away as well inn the toher direction so yea....

I don't i just think the best ones have an old fashioned feel to them which i like and is different when compared to GW stores. But unlesss the owners or people who work there have had children or freinds or themeslfs that have collected warhamemer they won't understand a word! lol... Yea i think that modl;ing isent dead too, but may have mioved on a bit ie its more wargaming and airfix now and less milltary moderlers, yet there are still loads of them left too!!!!
Dude, ouch. I got myself pretty good this last weekend but it wasn't stitches. The longer you model the more your hands will look like torture victims.

Hi guys,
The second reposed guy is nearly done! This is the guy who I cut my thumb over, I decided to give him a bionic leg as I lost the other shin. The shin is far too long however, yet still like the model! The plate on the rear of the shin is meant to replicate muscle structure and reform balance (both of which is used in prosthetic limbs today) so is the foot like the shape of a shoe (longer on one side).
thx it took quite a long time tbh about 2 hours for half a leg thats still too big! i need to cut down the shin and re do the shin plate part (the part behind the pistion thing).
Arakasi wrote: Nice looking bionic leg. Shortening it will give you more practise. Should be faster the second time around. Good sign of things to come.
yea thx if i can get a basic type of leg and arm i can use acroos the whole army it will give it a uniform aperaince!
