Just out of curiosity, what was that?
The owner unexpectedly passed away at a young age, real shame, as the guy was a real community pillar.
Indeed, it was a big shock to all of us. Obviously in a community like this everyone we work with isn't usually just an email address so most of us personally knew Stewart. Stewart's widow, in fact, did an amazing job at continuing the business and everyone stuck with them through the re-organisation. It did, understandably, create a big gap in the release schedule from which we have yet to catch back up but it's just one of those things. It's slowly closing and, as mentioned above, we hope to returns the resin->metal gap to a permanent 2 month or so turnaround by the middle of the year

Kev could 'definitely' make a better Lara than that

I'd love to see him do a proper Lara from the more recent games one of these days. She rocks in those.
Yodhrin wrote: I've seen a few folk go mental for this BeeS putty stuff now, is it really that different to/much better than Fimo?
That's more of a Kev question than one for me but he likes it. It handles similarly to Fimo but the different Beesputty mixes handle slightly differently to each other and to other polymer clays, Kev hasn't done work in Fimo for quite a while so he might not be the best to ask anyway.
He's working more in polymer clays than he used to but people think it's a lot more than it is because they mistake the gray in his WIPs for it, when it's usually a resin casting.

Well 'obviously' we can't to a 'Lara'. But a modern female survivor with a bow is a possibility. We do get asked about archers, in all 3 genres we do, all the time. So you might see some coming later this year, if not, we'll run another challenge later this year to so feel free to suggest one for the public vote and see if it gets chosen?

Okay, I'm going to put my ignorance on full display here; what is Blanche based on? I presume based on the name it's a nod to a John Blanche sketch and/or femme militant fig?
Or one of his "Wicked Girls" range, or whatever it was called, which was a nice, if somewhat niche, range of limited miniatures accompanied by an art print of the model in true Blanchitsu style.
Grimtuff wrote: Okay, I'm going to put my ignorance on full display here; what is Blanche based on? I presume based on the name it's a nod to a John Blanche sketch and/or femme militant fig?
It's just an homage to John Blanche's art. He's drawn a number of women in this style, including on the cover to an old WD (Some issue in the 70s iirc) and he's a friend of Kev's. Kev's done one many years ago and decided it was time for an update.

I did think it resembled one of his space amazons but I didn't want to assume. Cheers.
So, thanks to another thread on the forum, I'm now seriously looking at hasslefree minis to purchase, rather than just the occasional nosy and "oh, that's pretty."
Are they primarily on sale from Hasslefree's site? What's the common way for UK'ers to purchase them?
Here Here! I own a significant amount of the modern stuff and look forward to each metal release. Not as big on the resin but that's a personal preference thing. I have been awaiting a few of the soldiers to be remolded so they can be restocked for what seems like forever but as others have said. Candy in every package is a nice touch and the UK to USA delivery time is not bad at all. Love me some Kev White sculpts!
I've been wanting some Hasslefree stuff for such a long time.
There are so many scenarios already set up and the quality on the sculpts.. man.. The prices are not unreasonable either.. I just haven't had a specific project yet. I think that's going to be changing though.. I really hope so..

I just order them straight off the Hasslefree website. However, I believe the Hasslefree go to some of the UK wargame shows and if you place an order in acvance, you probably should be able to pick up the stuff at the show.
We'll be at Salute again this year. Other than that, in the UK, it's mostly our own site. Shipping is based on weight so the minimum shipping tends to cover 6-8 minis or so.
We have some B&Ms that carry our line but we've tried to make it so that if you speak English and you don't live near a shop that sells our stuff then you're better off coming to us. Our biggest retailers are all foreign language based.
If you do have a local B&M though, feel free to recommend us. We always like to support FLGSs, I ran one myself for many years.
I have a ton of Hasslefree minis, there grea. It's been awhile since my last order, I feel like I'm going through withdraw. I'll have to remedy that soon by placing an order soon.
Rihanna, the 5th member of the Nola Five our next survivor set to go with the Penn State Five
Raisa, a variant on the recent Fire Elementalist that Kev made. Uncertain how to distinguish the 2 by name as 'Dynamic' doesn't really suit one over the other . We'll work something out Maybe Apprentice Raisa for the one without the staff?
Wehrkind wrote: I love the sorceress, was a little disappointed the Penn State Five didn't contain an Amishman or a guy in a white and blue football helmet.
A football player has actually been considered as both the Penn State Five 5th 'and' the Nola 5th, but ultimately we kinda thought it was too silly. Without the pads they're just a guy wearing a football helmet (Which isn't tooo silly and we may still make) and wearing the pads they would just look daft as those things weigh like a 100lbs
Your sense of football pad weight clearly marks you as Brits
The reason I expected it was mostly because Pennsylvania is referred to as "the Keystone State"; Penn State is the big state university known predominantly for football (till the last 6 years or so at least... different reputation since.) So Penn State 5th made me think of football, engineering buildings without air conditioning, and sorostitutes. College was a long time ago

Indeed, I'm just kidding to make a point about the pads. The reason the football player was considered was your point for Penn State and with the Nola 5 that I've been to the Superdome for the Saints
I know they don't weight that much, they probably never did, it's jut a funny joke we like to make about American Football, especially in countries where men play rugby
More seriously though, it just doesn't look right, it seems odd to wear such bulky stuff in a zombie apocalypse, I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't immediately take them off. It may still happen at some point, the most likely scenario for one to appear is that I decide I want a football player zombie and if we're doing that we may as well make the player human first then zombify him
Well, I don't want to argue the functionality of things in the zombie apocalypse too much, your vision is just fine! It is worth noting though that plastic layers like that actually make pretty effective body armor if bullets and blades are not your prime concern. Motorcross kit is a little better than football oddly, but still it isn't a bad way to keep from breaking a bone when hit with a club or prevent teeth from getting in

I shall try and remember to add it to the next 'Challenge' we do and see how much interest there is. If you see us starting a challenge there'll be a 'nominate something' part on our FB so just get in there and do it yourself in case I forget
We'll make more of an effort to get the challenge out and about the next time around. You could also just reply to our newsletter if you don't like FB and we'll add it on your behalf.
And as a final option, we are still uhming and aahin about starting our own forum. The FoD still exists but isn't quite what we want and a forum will be handy for certain things that we'd like to set up, like a gallery/conversion section, vlogging, video reviews of our stuff etc. Sticking it on FB is great for instant feedback but forums are still handy for more medium and long term feedback. We may still sort one out before the next Challenge is due
Kami is a descendant of the Riko family, founders of one of the Galaxies largest weapons megacorps. Somewhat of a black sheep of the family, she fought with the Rebels against the Akulian Empire and has since lived a life of adventure rather than boardrooms and takeovers.
This is a Limited Edition Resin 'Master Casting' of Kami Riko. These Master Castings are strictly limited to however many we can get out of any Master Moulds before they deteriorate. These are about as limited as anything we've made and are the closest thing to Kev's original green as possible so hold the highest level of detail available.

Just to add to the chorus -- I order regularly direct from Hasslefree. The only reason I don't order even more regularly is that I have bought so much from them there isn't much left that I don't already have.
NewTruthNeomaxim wrote: I've never ordered from Hasslefree, but that clearly needs to change. Two quick questions though...
1. How is shipping to America? Should I save for one really large order?
2. Do out-of-stock items return to stock in time? My wife urgently wants the not-Furiosa from Mad Max, and I can't even find one on Ebay.
1. Shipping time average is 1 week, cost starts around £5 and that covers maybe 7 or so human sized minis (it's based on weight).
2. Yes, newer releases being out of stock means literally that and they'll be back in with the next restock. Have no idea which mini you mean because of 'course' we don't sell minis named after other people's IP but we have a new release restock coming in in about a week (There's a huge trade show coming up in the UK and so casters are slammed) so hopefully you mean one of those
Older minis being out of stock for a while normally means they are awaiting a remould, which can take considerably longer.
Thanks man. I'll definitely place an order should the restock happen.
Incidentally I was referring to this model. Clearly it isn't the character I was thinking of *ahem*. It is gorgeous though, as is not-Joel-from-The-Last-of-Us.... and many more.
These will definitely be featuring in my new All Things Zombie campaigns though.

Should be end of next week if we're lucky. We were hoping it'd be this week but the huge show has slammed all the big casting companies already and it's not until April
3 new metals in with the restock too, Jynx, Dynamic Jynx and Xanthia.

Maybe never. I don't think it made the cut for the winners mould. We do have to revisit that after Salute though so we may end up with spares of the regular ones.
Sorry! That whole thing is one of those projects that perennially never gets to the top of the queue. We are catching slowly p with regular metal moulds though so that's all getting better.

Do let us know when that restock shows up! Seeing this thread get bumped will remind me to place my order!
*grin* Nope, we go out of our way to choose British candy. The Tango popping candy at the top left is my favourite for it as it comes in flat packets that fit in envelopes and boxes easily and Tango is a soda that the Americans really should get, much better than Fanta!
I find it weird that I recognized most of the candy, then. Being so close to America, you'd think we'd have more overlap.
I did a whole range of Infinity minis with Hasslefree, nothing but good words for the quality of the minis, and the fast service. The quality of the sculpt is just... pure Arete.
I wonder if any of those are dangerous items to ship airmail . Every time I have to explain my little plastic men in a box that i am mailing out to the person behind the counter they get one of those faces......and then ask if they are liquid, fragile, flamable, toxic or a hundred other things before i say no. I just wonder if the gummies could explode if not within a pressurized compartment.

All checked for such things, also everything we send has to have the ingredients on the individual items too. Other than bubblegums, which don't do it, we also only send things that are completely sealed, in case something is stored in a hot place

I remember buying some stuff from you at Salute a few years back, and getting a couple of those plastic tubes filled with sherbet along with them. I'm not trying to derail this amazing thread... but I am pretty sure sugar-free Haribo gummies are banned in the US. There was that stretch where it became a Youtube game to see if you could survive having explosive poops for an hour, after eating an entire bag.

It's based on an Amazon review thing. I'm pretty certain it's just a joke although eating a load of anything with artificial sweeteners in will have you on the toilet for a while

The rule of thumb is 'this is a family wargame' so yeah I'd ask for either hiding them in spoilers (with a NSFW warning) or censored versions.
'Nothing you would not want your mom or boss to see' is another good rule of thumb.
Users should also remember that even a spoilered image will be loaded onto your PC, so that means it will be downloaded to your work and any inappropriate images will be as well, and probably in a local cache with your work login ID attached to it.
That's a reason I entirely avoid a fair few companies' topics from work.

*cough* That is why you browse and use chat programs that are installed and cached in a thumb drive, instead of the computer. ^_^ That way your work always goes with you no matter where you go and nothing is loaded on the system locally.

I guess you mean the Powered Armour Libby, that's not any further along sorry.
Cara looks great. Borax is not only a great dwarf, but a great reference. (Kills 'nids dead.) The Skyclad ogre is well sculpted, but more of a "butt'is face" than a terrifying monster. Skyclad Cara's pose is just confusing, and Skyclad Raisa is clearly dancing like that Ally McBeal baby. Grond is well, you know, he's Grond. Nothing really to say about him.
Also an etched brass restock in the architectural section and a small paint restock.

No worries, understandable. For us, cheaper resin just doesn't work for minis, way too much quality control needed. It's usually only for companies who cast their own resin that end up with the better results as they can invest that time themselves.
We pay the extra money to not need QC on our resin, you're normally hard pressed to find the mould line on ours (Cue someone who got some horrible resin we missed ) but you do pay for that. Our production resin is a little cheaper, still top end quality but as it's mass produced it drops the price a little. Anythign that says 'resin master' that ain't getting any cheaper
Salute Pre-Order Code
As always there's a nice freebie on offer for those of you who order your Salute goodies in advance. You can pick from an extensive list of items (over 40 different codes from across our entire range!)
The code this year is the highly original 'SALUTE2016', and please remember you enter it on the 'confirmation' page, which is the last one before payment details. There's a box at the top of the page.
(Every code we get people writing it in the comments box, other than making me smile, that does absolutely nothing! )
Also if your order is over £60 then the chosen freebie will be dropped into a lil Steampunk-themed goodie bag, if you order over £120 it'll be a double sized bag and so on!
The code wil be active until Tuesday the 12th of April!
We aren't packing any pre-orders after that date, you'll just have to bring your lil scrappy piece of paper with you and we can both struggle to read your writing
Well, just put in a Salute order consisting of a pair of minis and a crapload of conversion stuff I may or may not need somewhere down the road, including one of every Grimm power fist in the catalogue and etched brass for the hostess.
The freebies selection is also quite nice, went for Widow myself.
I like them both, even if she isn't quite she. I think it is the nose though, which might be fixable with paint. The bottom half of the face is a little big proportion wise compared to the eyes and head relative to the model.
Which is entirely irrelevant to me because I just want more vikings

The Kickstarter will be fantasy-based.
And our currency currently 'is' devalued Worst against the dollar in years.
Unfortunately it looks like all the central banks are in a race to the bottom in terms of currency... sad times.

That's not quite true, the changed one with the leg cut off is for metal casting. This one will remain in resin as long as we can manage it. It's just a mould killer due to the small gap between her thighs, thin bits of resin mould tend to tear off with repeated use.
Because Kev is using it to make multiple clothed variants we had a couple of master moulds made straight up.
She still may die faster than normal though, we shall see. Just one of those things.

No worries Artemis. I figured between Salute, the holidays, etc... there could easily be a delay. I built-in my own expectations, and still have two Guildball teams on the painting table. I'm almost counting on having a couple weeks before your fine minis deliver. :-)
Definitely most excited, and looking forward to all of them, especially the Fox-trot 2-pack. Both variations just look sooo characterful. I expect each will be leading our next TNT warbands.
As for the price/investment... I didn't even bat an eye. I've thrown $100 at GW for some, honestly, despicably gakky miniatures. For about $105 US, shipped, i'm getting somewhere in the realm of 15 lovingly sculpted, and gorgeous, unique models. That feels like a deal to me.
I expect this will be preaching to the choir, but not only did my Hasslefree models already arrive... but they are some of the best metal cast minis i've ever received...
... OH, and the amazing folks there remembered me mentioning HERE that I was sad that Oscar/Not-Max was sold-out when I placed my order... and I find an Oscar in my box, with a happy face on the baggie.
Thank you so much Artemis and Co. You've got another fan for life, and i'll be placing another, larger order very soon!

Waiting for some of the Modern Trooper head parts before I make my next order.
Modern Trooper bitz page is schedule for late May at the earliest sorry. The current heads, the heads not on the page and new stuff. Should be a big release with the metals of the missing troopers like Ace, Bomb and Kestrel.

He's up. He's arriving tomorrow from a fresh remould. The new mould broke immediately. We haven't put up the multipacks because we're waiting to see whether there's extra bodies.

Got him and a couple other figures ordered. When I finished paying (via paypal) it was weird, instead of a confirmation the site logged me out. I signed back in and see the order listed under my account, and did get a PayPal receipt, but I've never seen that happen before.

LOL... Sorry. I feel like it must've been your kindness to me that caused the exploding Oscar.
But on the up-side... my This is Not a Test warband now has "Oscar Mouldbreaker" on the roster. ;-)

I 'think' you got one of the weird ones from the first mould. The legs bent, so his legs are closer together than they should be. Might also be an odd line under his belt because of it.
No idea how it happened, but that first bunch of spins will be the only ones that have the legs close together.

That is odd. I ran a test order yesterday via paypal (to test the new email addresses and auto-emails) and it was fine. I'l let the web guys know but it's hopefully just a glitch.
I love that one of the ways HF made their not-Ragnar and not-Lagertha distinct from their TV insiprations was to give them more realistic armour. The silly heavy metal armour stuff is one of the very few things I dislike about that show.
A Hasslefree kickstarter in June, well I spent more on Hasslefree at Salute than anywhere else, so I can't begin to describe how much I'm ready for this.
Raisa has grown in power considerably since her childhood. Now a freshly named 'Archmage' of Evermore she still travels almost exclusively with her sister, who has grown into quite the warrior herself.
More news on the Kickstarter this coming newsletter, it 'may' be delayed a little due to some home-related issues at the Whites, we shall see, it'll be tight.
Well we're coming up to our first toedip into the waters of the giant mysterious Kickstarter waters.
But don't worry, we don't have huge juggernaut plans to take over the world. Just a small, themed, Kickstarter that we'd like to know interest in before it taking over Kev's sculpting time for months.
The images above each represent a few small sets of miniatures, themed around a particular clothing type (or lack thereof) and based on the work of a particular artist.
That's all ya get for now, follow our FB page for more updates and make sure to catch next week's newsletter!.
Hey Artemis, you are in the know with these sort of things.
Do you know when we will get some restocks of the Modern Trooper set, specifically the Heads?
I have asked on Facebook a couple of times but don't want to be that annoying prat who keeps harping on about it on Social Media.
I have a growing force of USAriadna Grunts that need the Mongrel Head (I love the almost total lack of skin and eyes on that head) and a handful of future Foxtrots who could do with a few Woody heads.
So from what I gather the idea for the kickstarter is a hero leveling up and getting stronger in mini form, count me in. I do however vaguely recall talk of a Sci Fi Kickstarter for plastic Kev style infantry being thrown around at some point.
Kev does regularly work from nude on up 'but' int his case the two clothed minis are 'not' the nude one with clothes on. They are all made from base dollies.
And yes, brook is more right, it's not so much a level progression as just offering the same mini to multiple parts of our fanbase. We sell a lot of the naked minis (especially to budding sculptors/modders), we also sell a lto of the pin up style minis we do 'and' now because of systems like Frostgrave we get asked a lot for more dressed versions of existing minis.
The Kickstarter is based on a particular artists's work and we organised it to offer something to, hopefully, everyone. There's even a naked bloke in there!

The MT bitz and the various weapons sprues are currently our white whale. Cannot get them to the top of the mould queue for love nor money, actually scrap that, money is what we're about to use 'to' get them to the top of the mould queue, and lots of it
We currently have around 60 moulds in the queue, so it's not a small investment we're talking about!
Newsletter was shot out yesterday, I'll skip the usual woes that we all apparently need to hear about and instead go straight to the good stuff, the new minis:
But I totally want them to pump out some metal pieces.
I have an Infinity USARF force waiting for about 20 of these heads so I don't have to paint skin and have a sweet consistent look.
Spoiler:
Come on, it has been over 6 months, let me fulfill my man-dolly needs!
From what I heard over at Salute the backlog will slowly but surely be fulfilled, it's just going to take some time to get there. This is mainly not in the hands of Hasslefree, but rather the place responsible for the pewters. I think it was Griffin (sp?) and if that's the case, then they have their reasons for this.
The description of her friend makes it sound like Not-Ryan Reynolds, and there's a whole Not-Deadpool thing going there, but the model is NOT actually not-Deadpool.
Kid_Kyoto wrote: OMG, I totally don't love that not-Deadpool, I'm totally not going to buy it!
So they can get the best feedback, is your not-interest in this miniature based on:
1) The taut but shapely behind.
2) Dat ass.
3) SWORDS
4) Booty that don't quit.
Love the elf on the top, I may sneak that into my own cart, and as far as those more generic human troopers with the helmet and rifle, I have a few and they are superb.

Thanks for the update, and for the record Jenn agrees with you about the 'paragraph of woe' but she doesn't deal with the emails . To be brutally honest, it is literally only there, and on the front page of the site, because the things mentioned affect service. When customers don't read the front of the site or the newsletter then when they complain I get to say 'There's a notice on the front of the site and in the newsletter' and then the second email is far more polite
Without having sent out the updates beforehand people just naturally seem to assume I'm lying.

Hey Artemis, do you have anything to do with CS? I didn't get the 21% discount for the recent promotion, e-mailed and FB messaged about it same day I ordered (July 18th) but haven't gotten an answer yet. The minis arrived safely about three weeks ago and are beautiful though

PM me some details? Order number and/or name, I'll go digging for ya.
Mmmmmnnnggghhh... damnit HF, if I back another KS I a going to get in trouble with my wife. Why are you causing me to suffer marital strife?! Maybe I can find something to sell...
Pledged at the £1 level, the next highest level is for 6 figures and I only want 4!
I haven't had time to read through it all yet, I wonder if there are any incentives for larger pledges?
Edit: Now I've actually read something it seems like there will be more figures unlocked as the KS progresses. Can't help thinking that more should have been available at the start to encourage higher pledges.
@ Hasslefree - Any chance of adding some Matt Dixon stuff as add-ons? That might help the total as well as push some extra money his way. I wouldn't mind tossing in a pack of magnets or cards if it saved on shipping, etc.
"Good evening! looking forward to the kickstarter. Will any of your existing range be offered? Like a "skyclad" optional buy or a "not disney princesses" optional but that lets you pick up a set of x for $x.00? someother kickstarters have done that (like dark Sword) and (Bombshell Babes)."
and was answered:
Hasslefree Minis We are working on that right now, we will probably do something like that but not from the outset.
We're trying to stick as closely to the 'Matt Dixon' art angle as possible, but we do have some Matt Dixon based figures in our range already and they will definitely make an apearance
Nudity is that allowed these days? Prodos Space Crusade (or Brother Vinnie) got slammed because of the sexual suggestive nature of the designs, but Hasslefree is Ok?
I'm cool with the nudity and the cheesecake, and will happily admit I love me some Kev minis and I believe the main issues from the others you have mentioned fall into two areas:
1) Mandatory Power Armour except for the boobies. (Prodos)
2) Incredibly Rapey (Brother Vinni's Slave girls)
Here you have different situation because:
1) You have the option for Standard, Nakey and Winter wear so you can choose your comfort level.
2) These women seem to be empowered enough to be wielding weapons and fighting as opposed to chained up.
And if you have facebook check out some of the Hasslefree posts. There are already some people trying to take them to task about this "disgraceful nudity" but whoever the HF have on webduties is being polite but firm on their stance.
My favourite was someone asking where the nakey men were and being pointed to the website as nakey men were already available but more might be available in this kickstarter down the track.
For me, Kev's naked women are high-end artistic nudes. Bona fide works of art. There is no-one else on the planet who can sculpt women's bums at 28mm scale with such accuracy, detail and love.
I am still going for the "winter" minis personally. But these are all fantastic quality minis.
You can see the three aspects as "nude - sexy/skimpy - lore friendly". That's how I see them, BTW.
Better to leave the debate about difference of treatment between Hasslefree and other companies like Protos. It was wrong in the first place. Just accept that people have different tastes and that the market is just proposing things for those willing to pay for these. That's all.
I really appreciate more female models, and those are nice in the concepts. I totally trust the sculptor to do something very close to the artwork, in great material and great quality.

That would be me, I'm on the 'everything except sculpting' duties, some days that even includes picking and packing
And the naked male is the next stretch goal, although the artwork is... dubiously bad As we were expecting to have more of a WIP in place instead so I literally spent 5 minutes in photoshop on it.
Let's see if my self deprecating humour can cover for the truly awfulness of it

Context vs gratuitousness.
Gratuitousness from users with questionable motivations or quite narrow points of view, indeed.
Everything was just a question of people wanting to see things in one company that they don't on another.

Yes, of course. I'm quite sure that was it for everyone >_>.
A good start to the campaign. HF minis are top tear, the only thing that's been restricting my purchases from them recently is the delays in the metal versions of things.
Kinda thinking of doing a Frostgrave warband out of these, just need a few extra designs.

Exalted Internet Winner for Monday, September 12!
All kidding aside, I do believe 'context' is important here.
Or maybe conflict of interests? Because a certain person who was bashing them repeatedly has/is working for HF?
Anyway i like them but as always i find the lacking of Science Fiction ladies disappointing.
I really like the Shamanic Boudi; I'm going to stick her into either my Empire army (as a Brown Wizard) or into my stuttering-ongoing WFB Chaos army.
As for Frostgrave, I rather figured the flamboyant Mathias de Brum would be most fitting... he looks like the sort of fellow who'd hire a bunch of hardened criminal- er adventurers - to help him dig up RICHES and POWER regardless of the risks (to them)!

It's only a conflict of interest if you are in direct competition for something, we're not. What happened, and is still happening, is a simple difference of opinion
And I'm afraid no Sci-Fi coming, this bundle is all fantasy, mostly because of the way it's structured. If we unlock enough characters people can use the 'Dozen' pledge to get a bundle of all the same type.
Dysartes wrote: Artemis, would the success of this KS open the way to a possible Sci-Fi (etc) equivalent down the line?
Oh, and the next stretch goal is up, btw, with new unlocks at £32k/33k/35k.
Outside of the Kickstarter there is always such hope. That's why we spend a 'lot' of money getting all of these dollies mastered in resin first
'Much' more chance of someone getting their wish of 'this character but scifi' if there exists a dolly or a completed naked one first.
That's why we don't take the 'Aaargh nudity!' crowd too seriously, they're incredibly useful to us. We can even use them when we work with other sculptors so that their proportions match Kev's.
We're going to be adding a 4th variant to a number of our characters, a bit of a hybrid minis made by both Kev and Tre manor of Red Box.
A number of people commented that our Winter variants aren't Wintery enough for them. The placeholder name for the new variant is 'Frost Variant' and will be Tre dressing a dolly/skyclad that Kev has made. We think it'll be the best way to make sure the figures match Kevs proportions and style but will still be imbued with Tre's love of fur, bedrolls and all manner of 'travelling stuff that hangs off you'.
I present to you my amazing concept art for Frost Shaman Boudi! *
*She will definitely have different horns, just something remotely castable in metal

We had this discussion awhile back, spawned from the Prodos thread.
It's closed now, but I'm sure if you have thoughts you'd like to discuss, the mods wouldn't stop you from opening a new thread rather than discussing it here. Despite being the OP, I lost interest after a few pages, but it's probably worth reading through in its entirety if you feel strongly either way first.
I need to do a HF order sometime soon, but that bastard Arty Black never got back to me on the white decals!

You probably won't believe this, but I genuinely have your PM bookmarked as my entry point to dakka, to permanently remind me when we fix our decals you were interested in white ones. I then use the drop down to check out my subscribed threads.
We switched laser printers a while back and haven't had to time work out why the new one doesn't do them right.

That not elsa has been on my "when in metal" list from the first wip of her on facebook.
That is one concern with this KS, a lot of HF's stuff has been taking a very long time to show up in metal this year, so the KS metal stuff showing up a month after the resins seems unlikely. But I guess they may have arrangements in place especially for the KS.
Hopefully that doesn't put further delays on resins already on their website getting the metal treatment.

The Kickstarter won't have any effect on our regular schedule. The resin to metal time simply extended considerably when the owner of our metal casting company suddenly passed away at the end of 2014 and has stayed at that turnaround time. We haven't really caught up, but we still send of the same amount of moulds etc. It just means our metal releases are a long time after our resin ones, if we didn't do the resin masters nobody would ever know
It's probably around 9 months or longer. We release x minis per month, the only way to catch up is to increase that amount, which we 'may' do. We've also spent a lot of money replacing old moulds over the last yr though so those have taken the spots of upping our releases.
Sending off the Kickstarter moulds at the same time as our regular releases won't make any difference to the turnaround.
I am really trying to figure out how I get out of this KS spending under 150$. It just isn't happening, which means I need to either find a new wife, or a new project of RiTides' to do...
... or become RiTides's wife. There's always a third way.

It's not "allowed", it's just not miniature gaming's turn to be destroyed by SJWs yet. They're doing Magic: The Gathering right now, we'll have to wait our turn.

+1.
Don't get how justice is something people use as a derogatory term, and I proudly wave the banner of social progress.
I'm perfectly fine with nudity (wouldn't go so far as to lump Hasselfree with fine art and defend any great freedoms, but I also think they're doing something pretty reasonable and with some nice aspirations/goals in mind regarding the execution). And yeah, the Tymshenko model was a pretty ugly statement- I think prodos is just run-of-the-mill lowest-common-denominator tasteless, but Vinnie seems pretty much straight-up immoral.

Funny, because that sums up 90% of the people who use that term in a derogatory way: white dudes with a mild-to-heavy obsession for degrading sexual depictions and objectification of women who also don't want to have their right infringed upon to buy that sort of thing.
On topic: As a longtime HF customer and backer of this KS, and someone who is really not happy that the new rule of "publish the dollies as nudies" clogs up the HF production queues and release schedule even more, I am still very happy that this KS gives everyone the choice between different versions, so that different tastes can be satisfied.
One note on Kev's normally impeccable sculpting: One of the kitties looks like Kev needed to cut it in half and add some more greystuff in between.
I think the kitties are being done by Fancagne, not Kev. If you mean that it doesn't look long enough, I think that it might just be the way the legs are positioned, with the hips and lower spine sort of twisted towards the camera. Looking at the rings on the base, it seems that the shoulders and haunches are the same distance from each other as the other leopard.
As a general note, we probably should back off the SJW discussion here. People are just going to get bent out of shape, and mods will descend in all their fury. Or annoyance, which ever. I think there are a few threads in the OT forum on the matter.

Thanks for pointing that out! I think if the legs and paws were smaller/finer it would not look as off as it looks now.

1. The KS Survey will be used to gauge interest in each model but nobody is 'locked down' until the pledge manager closes (and even then we'll be fine with late swaps to be honest). There'll be plenty more WIPs and finished minis by then.
2. Yes, we'll work it out with you, that's not a problem
Nothing in the KS is being made in China or has limited numbers or anything, we'll be able to accommodate most last minute requests pretty easily

Most of the metal will be £5, but a fair few will be at our new price point of £6 (increasing costs in general and especially the multi part ones means we are having to move more and more newer minis up to it). Hell with Brexit and the pound crash (meaning imported metal prices rise etc) by the time these hit the store they could all be at £6 for all I know.
So it means that add on prices are either retail or 20% off depending on which minis (you should easily be able to see which will be more expensive as they're the multipart or bulky ones - or Jaguar Shaman Boudi cos it'll be a gigantic pain in the butt to make )
The Half dozen pledges are a further 10% off and the dozen pledges are a further 20% off, rough figures but should work out around that. If you get a dozen and pick all the expensive ones it's a bit of a crazy discount to be honest (£72 RRP for £50), we thought we'd reward people for trusting in us like this.
Proof of Concept mini, Frost Shaman Eamond. This isn't available on the Kickstarter, will be available on the site in November, but was done to show what a 'Kev mini, dressed by Tre' (and then photographed with a potato) looks like.
(Top one is what Tre was sent, middle one is the 'Pin Up' Celtic version by Kev).

One or two might fail if they turn out to be a pain in the arse to cast or something, but yes, nothing is 'meant' to be Kickstarter exclusive
Wehrkind wrote: Are we going to able to up our pledges in the future? I suspect I might end up wanting more than 12 models, but I don't have the resources right now.
Also, new stuff looks amazing.
Absolutely - Full details on that in the link below. The 'only' difference is anyone upgrading to a Dixon's Dozen pledge during thepledge manager won't get the 13th bonus mini. It's still a 20%+ discount though.
Of course, if you'd like to start a new Hasslefree Thread, with the promise to keep it somewhat up to date, I can lock this one and point to that (theoretical, as of now) one?
Use the code 'HALLOWEEN2016' to get a whopping 20% discount of most things* and a discount of everything else.
Input the code on the final 'confirmation' page, at the top. If you hit the payment page you went too far.
(Don't write it in the comments box, it just makes me smile but does nothing ese ).
*New releases, red box, some other stuff, are all just reduced rather than the full 20% off)
The sale runs until Bonfire Night, that's Nov 5th for non UK people who have no idea what I just said
Please remember, no mail will be posted until the sale is over, the discount is in return for the slight wait
Oh, and for the big spenders, as always during promotions we have...
Halloween Goody Bags
Anyone spending £70 or more* will qualify for a Halloween Goody Bag. Goody bag will contain a variety of 'things', a free mini or 2 (themed appropriately), some 'bitz' such as sand or cogs and, of course, extra Halloween candy (i.e. it's sour!).
*Actual total paid, including discount, postage, VAT etc.
Larger spends qualify for larger goody bags, no limit on goody bag size We will also theme the goody bag to the order, so if you ordered Fantasy the free mini/s wil be fantasy and so on.
Right, yet another Brexit intermission coming up...
"Hey look, a cliff!" - My impression of the Pound.
Hey pretty much everyone who isn't British! Guess What? The pound 'sucks'. It currently thinks it's allergic to other currencies and is trying to hide from them in a very deep hole.
Just as an example to our American friends, our current standard price point for single minis translated to US dollars is $5.10!
Even with the slightly worse exchange rates of credit cards or Paypal it's still less than $5.30. That means with the current sale then our standard single minis are less than $4.30! That's insane, I genuinely dont think our miniatures have ever been that cheap, even over a decade ago when HF started.
For the Mainland Euros out there, our standard pricepoint, with the sale is less than 4 Euro!
For the Aussies less than $5.50 and for the Japanese, less than 450 yen! Madness!
I suspect we will run out of airmail stickers throughout this promotion!
