As the title says - I'm always doing something and why not tell everyone if they wanna see.

The plan is to simultaneously make 3 stompas. I am going to follow similar patterns to the original steam stompa design but obviously they are going to be variants. Here's a picture of the materials I have collected so far - I can only hope that this is enough to get me into the project well and truly.

So now here I embark on a new fantastic journey 3 TIMES THE SIZE of the original! I am surely going to go insane!

that artwork is pretty cool. sorta steampunk in the way i'v never seen it before... reminds me of that film, wild wild west?

Anyways - I've gotten into the stompas as promised and I think I've made a mistake. After making three of the steam tanks they're actually a bit squat. And what sucks is that it took me all day to make all three. SOOOO that said I'll be soldiering on anyways, and making it work...which it should, it means I have more room for other things.

SO! We'll see how it works out.

And another thing another thing I am working on with these - I'm making them so I can disassemble them for transport. SOOO if the shorter tanks don't work out I should be able to replace them without too much hassle. Not much of a pic, but it's a pic of what I did today nonetheless.

Will your stompas be having one arm like your previous one, or two like in the pic?

I like the balance of one arm - I'm not sure how to make two arms work but I am toying with the weapon fitout ideas and may vary the cannon mounts significantly. We'll see how that goes.

Have you looked at the pegasas hobbies cem plant. It has a tank that would be perfect and pipe and valves ect. My box is hiding or I would flash you a pic.

Yes. This diary will be fantastic. The stars have aligned and my skills are at their peakiest peak that they have peaked peakier than they've ever peaked before.

You see - just a few days before I began this project, Jupiter, Venus and the Moon aligned to smile down upon the venture I had just decided on. This sign has inspired me to press on with much added gusto...or something.

I've made the hip sections much bulkier in these versions that the previous. That was probably the main complaint I had with the last one. So I rectified that, but for the moment they look like giant baby Plankton (spongebob reference) with nappies on. But that won't last - I GUARANTEE it...

After making you wait for ... EVER ... by my standards anyway I've got for you all an update. I've mostly done the legs, mostly finished the engine assemblies and got the arms started. Although I am still working out fine little details. Like the other night I had a dream and in that dream I built them with two arms instead of one - and I didn't use the cannon idea out of the original concept, the weaponry was more arm, shoulder, under-arm or belly mounted.

And there was more scaffolding.

Perhaps it was a sign of what I should do ... well I'll get to more of the arm assembly tomorrow and I'll think on it some more. Let me know your ideas on what I've been thinking. I either need to do a second arm OR the cannon assembly - sticking an arm out onto that doesn't look very good.

Anyway - enough blather and here are some pics:

Very nice progress so far. Thanks for the scale pic too ^_-. Was having a hard time placing the size of these bad boyz, even with all of the stuff around them!

As far as the scaffolding goes, go crazy I´d say!

Not sure about the two arm thing though. Maybe test it on one and see how it looks? You could do a mockup, and see if you like it.

Whatever you do, make sure they look individual.

How could I have missed this thread? Your stuff looks amazing. Makes me want to build a whole bunch of those for myself!

Ok Here is my christmas present to you all - more pictures of the stompas in progress I've done some more work on them. I know they are looking fairly uniform but to be honest it's a HELL of a lot more work to make them any more individual than this. WAY lots more work and I don't want to spend half the year just building these stompas!
