I'm hoping something else interesting was released/revealed at GD Spain, though I imagine GW's saving the 'really good stuff' (i.e., Space Wolf Codex and Space Hulk details) for GD UK...

I like it. I like it ALOT.
Im glad they didnt go with the whole "huge a$$ tank bolted on to the back" design. While some people have done kicker conversions with those as well, this new design is awesome.

Eh. Not impressed really. I suppose the presence of the Devildog meant they couldn't go for the "FW massive tank on the back" look, and instead settled for something that's neither one thing nor another. It'll do for Devildogs, but I'll stick with the FW one for Banewolfs and Hellhounds.

I like the look of it.

Plus, plastic is always a good idea for any vehicle.

One means the Mechanicum truly loses their gak, and the other means the Eldar realize that Vaul is really a toaster and experience religion fail.

Just from the way the turret looks, it's looking like you should be able to swap out the nozzle types fairly easily.

Also the whole chassis is new, not just a turret for the HH variants. Looks like new Chimeras too!

One thing as well, what's up with these pre-release models with horrible gaps in them?! Can't the GW guys assemble them better? The Devil Dog and the Bane wolf have a big gap on the barrel...the one place everybody is looking!

The Chaos Bastion has the same problem.

Hmm not bad but not great. The Bane Wolf reminds me a lot of the Toxin Tractor from C&C Generals

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. The Bane Wolf is competing with the Eldar for most phallic weapon of the 41st millennium.

Hurray for a new Chimera chasis!

I assembled 4 of the current chimeras this weekend and it's obvious the molds have had it. Most of the tank wheels had dents in them or were missing tabs. The top and bottom hulls just don't want to join up.

It could be a lot more phallic, to be honest. Why doesn't it have a pair of fuel tanks on either side of the barrel?

Now I'm hoping that the Chimera will have a vertical firing slot.

These models are most likely first casts or built as showcase models with swappable parts.

Anyone know if there will be one Chimera/Infernal Canine box or will they be separate?

I still like trhe FW one better, but this is a great improvement on the current citadel miniature.

Also I wonder if the current FW conversion kits will work with the new chimera mold?

The way the Banewolf has been painted makes it look like someone pulled a giant condom over the gun barrel.
Not the most flattering way they could of done it.

I am however, happy that they'll be releasing it in an 'all 3 in one box' set, as opposed to separately.

It's odd that GW removed the visible boobs from their Daemonettes, but insist on putting more phallic imagery in their other models. What's going on in those studios?

If the Infernal Hounds are in with the Chimera that explains the lack of the big tank. They wouldn't have room on a sprue for one.

According to the newsletter:

"This morning, at Games Day Spain, we unveiled the all-new, all-plastic Imperial Guard Hellhound. Released alongside a number of new tanks and supporting hobby products this August, you can take a first look at this great set below.

Imperial Guard Hellhound Tank
This incredibly versatile kit not only includes all the weapon options available to the Hellhound Flame Tank, but can also be built as either a Devil Dog or Bane Wolf."

So no Chimera parts.

I like this new Hellhound. While the big tank on the back of my Graia looks cool I think this HH looks more practical. Though I still prefer the long, skinny flamer from the FW Hellhounds.

I think it looks good. I like it better than the FW hellhound, but that my just be because of the new Chimera parts. It will be interesting to compare when FW models start getting the updated Chimera/Russ chassis.

If it isn't a Space Marine model I guess they just don't give a gak, I've noticed they don't fill gaps on other models either.

I kinda do the same thing really, my gun barrels and stuff sure aren't perfectly smooth, but for 'Eavy Metal I kinda expect a higher standard. Though it is painted.

Anyway, I was thinking the same thing as H.B.M.C., they said it would be better than FW hellhounds and I don't really think it is. I preferred the giant tank on the back too, but this isn't a bad look at all really, and if it means a new chimera kit is in the works then all the better I guess.
