Its fast in the same way a fire engine is fast. That seems to be the aesthetic at least. At this point, I think if you forced the issues with designers they'd just take away the "Fast" and extra armor from the vehicle than add any new bitz. So don't tempt them.

By comparison, the FW designs are far superior, oversized rear fuel tank and all. Why, after demonstrating that they can convert the FW Vindicator and FW Valkyrie *exactly* into plastic, GW had to go with this particular design boggles the mind.
Because a giant fuel tank doesn't really cover the melta version of the tank. I don't think this does either, but its closer by being a bit more generically techy across the rear.

Point taken on the Melta, though they do have those wierd canisters... Even a couple smaller tanks would have sufficed, as opposed to the current brick-like look, which is not accentuated by the tall, narrow turret.

I really like the Devildog cannon, don't really like the Banehound nozzle thing, and am iffy on the Hellhound cannon.
I am thinking that the heavy flamer bits from the command sprues could be chopped with some styrene tubing to make a better, more FW looking turret for the Hellhound though. I don't see myself ever spending 20 points to use them, after all.

I kind of like the boxyness of the new look, as opposed to the tank of the old one. It was pretty neat to have the exposed promethium tank, but it also screamed "I am AV 10, Open Topped on the side!" to me. This looks a bit more believably AV12. Still, a few of the spare gas barrels from the accessory sprue would not be a bad idea for the Hell Hound!

The barrel is probably that stubby because it is now just a template weapon with no range to it.

I think the short comings of the fuel tanks, gun barrels, and good ol' fashioned heavy flamers are simple enough things to convert. Everyone has their own idea of what they want in how their different tanks look. I think its good, in the very least it will be easy to convert. At worst we still have forge world.

Here's a different angle of the Hellhound:

From this angle, it looks like there are tanks sitting upright in the back of the Hellhound.

Good, at least there's some more detail in there...

It's not as good as the FW one but I do still quite like this Hellhound. I wish they had done the turret up like the FW one (asymmetry is cool), but I don't know if it would have lended itself to the other variants.

Thisnew box set is excellent, and looks better than the old one, although I will miss the old giant fuel tanks. Although it's not better than the FW one, which is a shame.
