First of all, it looks like pain to build (at least for me). Second of all, it makes it price go whopping up like a guy who was kicked by Chuck Norris.
Don't they understand that many people will not buy it because of it's sick price?

The day people actually stop buying new product because of the price is the day things might just start getting better. All of their product is grossly overpriced.

Though I must admit some of the new stuff, like this model here, it's just shocking. But sad to say it I think more than enough people will still buy it and I will just shake my head in disbelief.

Yes

I don't like the price either, but if it is really big then the price seems to be at least linear with the prices they ask for models such as the Deff Dread and the Greater Deamons. Not that it makes the prices more reasonable though.

I'm also not a big fan of the bosspole, which makes me even more reluctant to justify the price. And Azhag's right hand appears to be incorporated into it, making it harder to leave it off/fix it.

I really really like the Wyvern tough.

I want a cool wyvern boss for my army but that is too much.

Thing is its a HUGE model- probably the biggest metal one currently avalible- the price actually fits for once :-p

Relative to current GW prices - perhaps. Here's a fun one-shot: if GW's consumer base was to entirely transition over to discount retailers, do you think their year-end sales figures would remain the same, rise, or drop, and as a result cause them to raise prices again?

My take on GW's "price hikes" is that their whole "we're in the green! we're doing great!" is a result of barely breaking even relative to their costs on any given year. Easy enough to fix - close down stores, fire useless redshirts.

Price drops usually equate to sales rising.

I'm glad this thing is direct only so I don't have to think about it. Without my LGS's discount I just wont buy it.

I thought that GW's customer base has already done so, and is now taking the next step of leveraging international arbitrage against ForEx rates for savings above and beyond mere discounting.

Hence the most recent price hike, with a clear signal to raise again next year.

Holy loly that's an expensive mini. For that sort of cash I'd be expecting something like an ultraforge dragon or greater demon.

I was holding out for this to be my main dragon but I guess I'll go ahead and get the ultraforge one instead.

So, is this thing going to be the new Steamtank? Who the hell had the idea to make the thing out of metal?

GW doesn't approve of GW sales strategy.

I guess them making, say, a $50-60 plastic kit would've killed them. And since it's for O&G, an army that's currently just smacking other players around in tourneys worldwide, I'm sure this will be a popular purchase.

So...wait...plastics are now worth the price of metal due to being so super awesome, and the guy riding a Wyvern is £50...so we can expect any wyvern/dragon riding models to head for that kind of price because the plastics are so awesome?

O&G is a faction , it doesnt need to have Orks to field a legal army.

Also , when is the last time you see none skull pass Night Goblin units on Dakka Dakka.

Your argument is flawed. You claim that Azhag is expensive because GW want to make money back from people building their armies from Skull Pass Goblins, but Goblin players wouldn't take Azhag...
