Never got into the HALO series as much as I did PC FPS such as Counter-Strike and various other Half Life mods. HALO is definitely fun and a quality game though however I'm more of a fan of Call of Duty type of gameplay and environments/style. Also prefer the mouse and keyboard in FPS as opposed to the imo less precise and more limiting platform of a console controller. HALO PC somehow didn't feel as polished as the consoles but it might have been the machine I was using at the time, and HALO PC versions take forever to release and by then you'd have the console version.

However I still bought HALO games for a reason - they're examples of some of X-Box's best games out there and it took console gaming up another notch similar to Goldeneye N64; its just been heavily outmatched by Call of Duty imo in terms of entertainment.

Halo tends to get boring though, i find that after ive managed to get a few 50's i get bored, allthough im still working on a 50 in squad battle lol, taking forever.

I mean custom games never get boring, there are so many different map, game types etc that it nevers gets old.

I think by now ive played a ranked, social and custom game atleast 50 times on every map XD (in the case of ranked games, maybe 100 times on each map lol)

Co-op campaign is where it's at for me.

That and the ridiculous scenarios we can come up with thanks to map editing.

Halo 3 is just awesome, but i never play matchmaking, just custom and campaign 4 me

In a nutshell the game is OK to me. Like..

I LOVED the first game, and really wish the others were more like it. #2 had fun features but ending was lame... Although I spend a great deal on multiplayer.

I didn't like Halo 3 just because it really was a "Wrap it up" game I mean, how many character's died in it?

Halo War's looks cool but it got alot of gak.

ODST look's sweet.

not to much of a fan of halo, i would mech rather play COD 4, or 5.

dont get me wrong, i still play halo. it dose get fun when you get a large droup of friends.

the main things i dont like are the shields, you have to hold down the botton to stay crouched, and no looking down the guns sights.

i think once i start getting a few games of "SWAT" mode ill take a fancy to the game... it is like harcore mode in COD right??

I love the Halo games, but once COD4 came out I didn't look back. I still play Halo3 once in awhile when friends come over, but mostly that's to give them a fighting chance. If we play multi-player COD then it becomes rape-city, and I have no more friends.

Swat mode is no sheilds, and usually battle rifles as the primary weapon, so it is just head shot kills. Though there is also a shotgun (or SWATgun I think it is called) mode within the swat game where you all have shotguns.

I like Halo, but miss some of the more tactical play on CoD3, or even TF2 etc.

I would really love classes to be introduced in Halo to make it far more tactical. But running round shooting things is what Halo is about, and it is fun for that too.

You can change it to toggle mode in the options - it's much better that way, in my opinion.

and for some of them it is thier life when they get payed plenty for playing in tournaments lol

in 40k you can tell you is a pro and who is the for fun. in halo you get a big foul mixing poy of all.

I love the Halo games, although some slate it, I always really liked the story. Not just the main plot driven piece, but the reactions and feelings you got from the soldiers around you.

A great game.

I'm also quite annoyed today after my brother showed me the leaked footage (from ages back, I just missed it) that weta and Jackson knocked up to try and sell the Halo movie to a film studio. It looks freaking awesome and its obviously a load of the weta guys running around with minor effects added.

How did Hollywood feth that one up.
