Heir to the throne of Ulixus, Princess Malya has set out across the galaxy to unlock the mystery of the aethyric creatures known as cyphers. With her ever cheerful companion, Mr. Tomn, she relentlessly follows a trail of fallen heroes and cryptic prophesy. Over the years she has left behind an impressive array of enemies, admirers, and love-struck would be suitors; her relic’s speedy thrusters always keeping her just beyond the horizon.

Princess Malya, her cypher Mr. Tomn, and relic Sedaris will be available from Soda Pop Miniatures this November as two, 32mm scale, multipart pewter models in a single blister.

Art is available here. There's also a teaser up for what's coming after this.
If the model is anything like the art, this thing is gonna be pretty big!

I suggest you contact Sodapop directly as my copy arrived within 7-10 days of ordering. You could also ask about European stockists.

The first one was OK, but the second one - very nice indeed!

I'll certainly be picking that one up, and finding someway of using 'counts as' to get her into a game of Infinity!

Do you think it will be possible to assemble with closed cockpit?

We're glad you guys like her! She is indeed a good sized model and will be on a 50mm base, while Mr Tomn will join her on his own 30mm base.

I just e-mailed you back Navarro. We've had a couple international orders that seem to be taking forever to arrive. It's been very frustrating. We are actively working on a European distribution solution and hopefully it will be operational before too long. We'll of course let everyone know when we've got it all figured out.

Paul Atreides wrote:Do you think it will be possible to assemble with closed cockpit?

She won't actually have a closed cockpit option. We figured we'd respect Malya's decision to perch herself up so high for all to see (regardless of incoming fire).

We'll have some more of her concept art and eventually her greens in the next couple weeks. We're quite excited, can't wait to see what you all think!

Erm....will the next one have a more "human" proportion, or are you sticking with the "cartoon" style? Not saying theres anything wrong with that by the way, it would just make a nice change.....after all, you'll have stiff competition in the anime realms from the likes of Anima Tactics and Infinity!!

Another good reason to KEEP the generous ladies proportions.

I like the current exaggerated anime style.

Agreed. Don't want things to start looking generic now, do you?

Malya will keep with the style established by Candy. We're really going for fun, animated, and highly stylized. Speaking of, here's this week's teasers for ya!

From our release-
This week Soda Pop Miniatures is excited to show you some of the excellent concept art for Princess Malya by Chester Ocampo. We also have for your viewing pleasure the green of her cypher, Mr. Tomn, sculpted by Jacques Alexandre Gillois.

To mistake Princess Malya’s effervescent companion for a child’s toy is surely to condemn yourself to destruction by the twitch of his cute little whiskers. Cyphers, like Mr Tomn, are a psychically bonded interface from knight to relic. At the core of the creature’s being is an arcane intelligence that reflects the knight’s spirit in form and focuses the relic’s awesome abilities in battle. In addition, each cypher serves as a companion to the knight to which it is bonded, ever prodding and leading its master to new discoveries about the dark times ahead.

Mr. Tomn is a single 32mm scale model that will be packaged with Princess Malya and available at the end of the month. Malya and her relic will be previewed next week!

Thanks as always!
Deke

The sketches for princess Malya strongly remind me of another anime character, the biker chick from My-Hime, whose name I can't remember.

Edit : Natsuki, from My-Hime

Ok the Mech and Bunny are great looking but way do people want models that should be in a center fold? I personally find them boring and shows most of the time lack of imagination on the design team. Thats just me, the odd ball.
