Read that gumph last night, sweet lord the fluff in the codex is poor.

Twice on the same page it lists 'naughty renegades wot got trapped behind their own defences'... And then 'Blud angles and the necroids became good friends and destroyed the tyranids Y34H!!11'. So the relentless and ancient evil that has awoken sided with the very things they were harvesting in order to prevent some other things they could havest from eating them and then left with a cheery wave, later followed by a facebook friends invite...

Bloody awful. I want someone flogged for this.

I liked the part where an entire company's worth of Marines gets killed by an Eldar ambush. Then the ghost of bling incarnate kills their Avatar and I was ;(

Yea I'm not too happy about it either. My main issue is the sanguinor. He randomly appears at the time of most need & kills everything. Seems like their own person LOTD or maybe it's a daemon, idk, but I'm very disappointed by the fluff. On the other hand the army itself isn't that bad

It would have been nice if sanguinor was more rare, not appearing every time the BA are losing to choke every avatar, daemon prince, or greater daemon on the field to death.

I think the army is OP, why the hell are their dev weapons cheaper than Vanilla marines? How is that 'blud-angley'?

Blood Angel fluff was always gak.

Even the Templars have a more interesting story line.

Hell even the Dark Eldar have better fluff.

Blood angels should have been squatted

Sanguinor = the literal 40k Mary-Sue. Appears out of nowhere, beats the strongest villain the enemy can bring with little effort then disappears again. All he needs is all the imperial women to fight to have his non existent babies and there we go, a horrible fan-fiction brought to the table.

I dont think sanguinor is worth his enormous points cost either. Bad bad character all around.

The necron event shoudn't even be considered official, it's just too stupid. The reason they left each other was they were to battleweary, WT this is imortal robots and one of the bloodthirsty SM chapters created. Since when do robots get bored, and battle is all BA do. Come on what use is a sm who gets battleweary?

The fluff should be written by some good BL writer.

Tied and gagged in the back of your car

And when you consider the scale that the Necrons would be fighting at (as far as I'm concerned, there would be no reason for the Necrons to engage in small-scale battles, when you consider their aims), they should either have enough resources to completely steamroll their enemy, or fight to the very last, or simply phase out completely at the first sign of mission failure. Simply leaving with the job half-done isn't very 'necron-like.'

I think the book was written by TFG. Bloody awful fluff, and cheesy army. Even the not-so-cheesy units looks cheesy (see deep striking land raiders, page 34).

Someone should slap whoever wrote the Necron+BA lovefest with a cement block. Since when have the unfeeling, uncaring, immortal machines cared who they killed? Oh no, tyranids is overruning us!!! *Phase Out*

Then again, "Space Vampires" was always a silly idea to begin with.

You know, I'd read this thread earlier when I was only partway through the BA dex and thought you guys were overreacting...but WHEEEEWWW...you're right. The fluff in here is a stinker. The Sanguinor stuff is re-homogenized Legion of the Damned pap with a BA twist (and am I mistaken in thinking that the story implies that Dante was the Sgt from the attack on the Terrorclaw?).

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

I agree but since Gw see BL as a separate bubble i doubt it.

What GW really need to do is to review all codex, rulebook and Wd fluff and create some rigid guidelines/timelines, they wont do this either as the sales guys will get angry.

Except the blood angels don't come exclusively from a planet populated with blood-spattered angels. It's perfectly fluffy for space wolves to have wolves. It's like the Ultramarines riding guardsmen into battle

This BA codex is so full of fan service, it makes me sigh. I know a codex is supposed to be all 'yay us!', but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

Haven't gotten to read the fluff yet but from what you guys are describing the Sanguinor sounds even more like the Deceiver.

How does Sanguinor sound like the Deceiver?

Alp, its pretty much true, not blown out of proportion nerd rage. The BA do work with the 'Crons to stop the 'Nids and then Dante and the 'Cron Lord part ways. Did anyone yet mention one of the reasons the BA didn't finish the fight was because they thought it would be distasteful to turn on a group they had just fought along side?

Oh and at some point the BA had 12 man Tac Squads, one of which they sent to take out a Night Lord Battle Barge, and then Sanguinor showed up to help.

Note: That's ONE 12-man squad, of which only the sergeant (Dante) survived.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

necrons in fact have a history of poping in to save the Loyal Marines, yep. The helped the Tau out aginst the Tyranids also (Then ate them. They must have some Greater threat program.

Sanguinor should be investigated by the Inquisition. Let's hope the next codex restarts the good run of 5th editions books.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

I thought the Calgar suck didn't need saying. The rest of th SM book was ok.

Just looked at the fluff again, it's even worse a second time.

Dante Owns Skarbrand in Hand to hand combat. I mean One shotted by "A single blow that cleaved him in two." The guy that nicked Khorne's Armor, Cut in half by Dante WTF.

To top that Ka'Bandha gets his butt kicked by Sanguinor, after he downs a captain.

So basicly He can do more that 100 greyknights and a bunch of BA can, with minimal effort. But then He is Count Dracula
