With the DE vs GK brouhaha, what are people really thinking and wanting?

I want a revised Dark Angels Codex.

Scouts as Troops, or an option for "Veteran" Scouts as Elites.
Storm Shields that are actually the same as...well, everyone else's.
Deathwing squads that *aren't* restricted to 5 men only.
Ability to take dedicated transports for the Deathwing squads would also be nice.

Just minor stuff, really.

I'm actually torn between not wanting to see ANOTHER marine codex, and wanting an update for my templars (not that they need it, I just want new goodies).

That in mind, DE would be nice. Of course, I love GKs and I almost started a DH army, but eck, MORE marines.

The only way GK will come before DE is if for some reason DE aren't ready in time and need to be bumped back a month or three.

But considering all I have heard and seen it's 90% probability of Dark Eldar. Entire new range as well, which is the reason for the past year or two of GW saying "oh the Dark Eldar ARE coming" but no results. No, it wasn't to tease you as many people would love to believe, it was because Jes Goodwin received free reign and no deadline on the sculpting.

But at this point in time all is sculpted and cast, ready for packing and everything.

I'll say DE for sure. it's been a long time coming. Granted everyone knows they are being worked on anyway, so aside from them, I'd like to see Necrons get updated. They havn't been updated since they were released many, many moons ago.

I herd a rumor that they are put the deamon hunters and the witch hunters together in 1 codex. Also both the deamon hunters and which hunters codexs are not for sale anymore where as the Dark Eldar are for sale still.
Based on this Im prety sure its going to be the Hunters who get their codex/codex's first.

i too am aware of this and at one point thought was the case. But sources on Warseer promise GW won't consolidate the Inquisition. That being said, the truly heavy rumors/information is that the next Codex is DE and after that is Necrons. Of course, it's just very very VERY heavy speculation.

Dark Eldar all the way, Another SM type army and the game will turn into Bolter and Chainsword-All Spehs Marinze all the time. Seriously when you go into a shop and everyone is playing SM's it is like having a romantic evening all by yourself.

I seriously hope that whenever GW gets around to tackling the Xenos armies that they seriously invest in expanding the back story of these races.

According to all 3 of my FLGS, they are having trouble getting DaemonHunters models. This leads me to believe:

A). They are selling like hot cakes & GW needs to recast.
B.)GW has pulled them and new ones are on the horizon
C.) GW has finally run out as the few people who play them have bought the supply

B seems most logical to me- take with salt

Its kind of funny, but before all this DE or GK talk I didn't really care about either of them. Now that I read rumors almost everyday I'm frothing at the mouth for either. I'm still hoping for DE but I have an inquisitor around here somewhere and I bet hes lonely.

I'm not surprised that the number of posters who want a GK codex is rather low.
GK is absolutely boring to play.
I'd prefer a WH army any day.

I want the DE first but the GK's come a close second. GK's are the only SM/Power armored units in the imperium that I think look good.

I cannot tell you how much I detest the current "Cletus the FOX NFL dancing robot" look of SM's. They are supposed to be knights in space not American Football playing jocks. GK's look like Knights and I would love it if their armour became the standard template for SM's.

Dark Eldar, clearly. Then, if it's a wishlist thing, Sisters and maybe Necrons. Grey Knights? Really? I've played 40K, on and off, for at least 5 years. I've never seen one Grey Knight model on any table, mine, an opponent's, some other army at a tourney, EVER. This is the army they feel the need to push out, since they've already issued Space Wolves and Blood Angels within the last 6 months? REALLY?

Working backwards, we have Blood Angels, Tyranid, Space Wolves, IG, Orks....

Why would Grey Knights be next? I foresee Dark Eldar, Inquisition, Necron....

I'd consider playing DE if I liked their new codex. I would have started them instead of marines if it wasn't for the old dex. I had GK for 2 years, and I've seen lots of people with them here in Philly. I think it will be DE, then some form of Inquisition, then maybe Necrons?

Then how come Daemons followed Orks, CSM followed DA, and Eldar followed Tau?

Not sure if you want to count the WD BA dex between CSM and DA, but that'd make 3 in a row...

I really don't care what army the next codex is for. I just want it to be properly written, well-laid out, no errors or questionable entries, etc etc.

As I couldn't give a rat's fart about Dark Eldar, and I already have a Grey Knight army, I'm gonna have to say Grey Knights.

Then I will punch GW for updating BOTH of my armies in one year, and annihilating my wallet.
