GW has risen prices in many countries such as USA, Australia and UK. Many of people were hurt by such a great rise in prices that were already unimaginably high. Not many people are willing to pay 15 GB pounds for a 96 paged book or more. So I have come up with a short termed solution: Poland. The prices in polish online miniature stores are around 2 or 3 GB pound cheaper than the ones on GW official website. This might be just a small difference but for large scale orders ( especially Battalions 45 pounds instead of 50 ) it is a good deal.
Here are some links to cheap stores:
http://www.sklep.cytadela.pl/
Oh and a online store with space hulk still there:
http://www.magictraders.pl/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=0&keywords=space+hulk
Sorry if the pound/zloty exchange rate changes and makes the deal unprofitable.

That's a good idea but the postage costs of large packages may cost just as much as if you had bought it in the UK.

One thing i cant comprehend is for
"solution" to price hike is buying from discount retail sites"
How does that work? a % increase still effects the exact price increase by the same % on a discount store.
The only thing in question is " is the final discounted value still tolerable to my purchase threshold "

Why not try UK shops that give you a discount. GiftforGeeks and that give you a 20% discount.
In my City If I am desperate for something I go to a local store I get 10% off of an look around their for it. Or hope to get lucky on ebay.
Although books are still £12 in my area.

Well I don't know of any such stores in Uk ( but as I don't live there, who am I to say ?) but it just seems to me that due to the Polish zloty/ GB pound exchange value it is worth it.

To be fair, I have over 70 Malifaux minis, the rulebook and 4 Fate decks, and I LOVE the game. I think VERY highly of Wyrd and the people running it.
So, I'm not just blowing smoke here.
Malifaux really isn't any cheaper than GW games. It is actually more expensive.
For example, your typical starter crew box is around $35 retail. That's for 4 - 6 minis!
With GW, a tactiacl box will get you 10 minis for around the same price.
Where you see your "savings" is that $100 will get you DEEP into Malifaux, with a hefty size force. With GW games, $100 will barely scratch the surface of your army.
LOL Sorry for the Malifaux OT.
I have to say that I'd far rather deal with a deisounter in the US than one half way across the world. At least, in a worst case scenario, we're operating under the SAME legal system.

Come on, we all know the way to bring GW's prices down: stop buying it. Everything is worth what it's purchasers will pay, and once a price hike reduces sales by so much that it actually hurts their profits, rather than helps it, the prices will still keep going up.
Plus, I've noticed that people's sense of price is a little skewed when it comes to wargaming. You spend a hefty wad of cash, and you get something that provides hours of entertainment in the hobby phase, and then many, many hours of entertainment playing with it. Remember, it's a durable good, therefore you get a lot of value over time for a single downpayment. Otherwise, GW would have to go the route of the music industry: you can no longer buy miniatures for $40 a box. Instead, you can only RENT the minis for $10 a game. How long do you think it would take before you've wound up paying more than if you would have just bought them in the first place?
You've got to remember that everything has been getting more expensive as of late. The price of college has quadrupled in the past decade. The price of rice has tripled over the last 5 years. Movie tickets are now spiraling towards $20 apiece. The fact that GW just did a 33% price hike across the board has more to do with the fact that its product was relatively cheap for so long (regardless of the griping).
The only other solution is to dissolve GW in Britain and move it to China. I don't want to think of what the game would look like if Hasbro took over the rules, and the minis were made by slave laborers...

The problem is that people only look at the up-front cost without looking at the value they receive.
Paying $1000 for a never-ending beer bottle may be a laughably high price to spend for a single bottle of beer, but how long do you have to go before you've gotten at least $1000 of beer out of it? After that, it's effectively free beer.
The up-front costs have gone up, but the value that you get for your money has always been good, which is why the hobby has GROWN despite it's up-front costs.

Which means they are not getting the money the used to so to allow for more gain they raise prices. They could cut prices but then they would be losing even more and in the current financial situation, it wouldnt be healthy.
The price is still acceptable many people are still willing to pay that much (I do however refuse to pay more then £30 for a single model, and that model better have a lot metal in it.)

The price hike has driven me away from GW's games completely. It's a real shame, because I love the 40k and WHFB universes. However, I simply can't afford it anymore. Even buying from Maelstrom is expensive now.
I've moved on to Warmachine. I don't need to spend over $150 AUD to get started.

Can't really fathom why the prices went up. GW stores went and restructured, profits for GW are crazy high... anyone with real economic knowledge or an actual company source tell me a/the reason why the price is going up? Does it have to do with the euro falling due to greece? Comon now lets not get price rises and no f-ing reasons.

Sell the excess thats stacking up in our closets, or trade it amongst ourselves.
They want to play douche, we can then start dumping product wholesale on the market and flood it with cheap underloved product and actually trade between ourselves without getting raped over it.
I'm getting into too many other games that don't give me as much of a headach as 40K and fantasy have in the past year to care about them anymore, anyway.
Go ahead, GW jackasses, Price the game out of the market and watch me flush it like a full diaper.
Watch as I start trading it off for games that are actually not giving one a migrane for stupid two finger salutes to the players.
