I am wondering about how much money did most 40k players spend.
For me its like $50 for AoBR SMs + an old rhino and $50 for paints and brushes... Total: $100
Anyone wants to share his/her number?

Welcome to Fantasy 40k
If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.
Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

More than I can remember. Since I started again? $39 so far. I bought a box of Dire Avengers, was gifted a box of Swooping Hawks, found an old squad of Warp Spiders, and manged to buy a Warp Spider Exarch on E-bay, $4 delivered. Granted, not everyone has 20 yers of leftover GW detritus to pick through for useful stuff...

Obviously. Just look at the screen name.
I've probably spent about $1500 on my DKoK army. But that's my 5th edition army. I have no idea what the value of all the models I purchased in 2nd edition would be if adjusted for inflation (and biannual price hikes). I've spent about $3000 on Warmachine and Hordes. I will spend probably another $500-600 on Skaven once the new box set arrives.
All together, I've probably spent about $10,000 on miniature wargames counting everything.

I would estimate around £800. Around £1250 if you include WDs.
This is excluding my planned Ork Biker list, which will bump the latter up to around £1700.
As Loki said. Too much. The depressing thing is that I have spent this much, and I'm only 16.

I'm lucky in that I find stuff for wicked cheap on eBay and flea markets, then manage to trade it/sell it off for a relative profit in stuff I actually want. However, the amount of money I spend on this game is still pretty hefty. Easily a couple hundred bucks a year. Compare it to other hobbies and habits and it's not that terrible though.

And I plan to spend more in the future... I'm hooked bad.
Edit: to qualify more, I intend to have someday around 2000 BT initiates, I have no idea how many points that be or what it will cost but someday I will have them. Also plan on starting other armies in the future.

Wow there is just no good answer for this question.
Tens of thousands (Over 20+ years) spring to mind easy.
I sold off a fully made army of Tau at about 4000 points and gave my cousin 3000 points worth of Eldar.
Misc. Inquisition and gray knight stuff about 2000 points.
I still have about 7000 points of Marines and 6000 in guard (never mind the Baneblade and Stormlord tanks).
I have 8000 points in chaos marines.
Terrain and buildings are hard to think of but about 5 bastions and various terrain.
No, this is just not worth talking about. I think my wife cannot find here way into the forums...
