So here's a question to my fellow hive mind servants out there.
What do you think the emperor tastes like? And were we ever to get to him, how would you think best to prepare him to prepare him for the grea feast?
Entirely hypothetical. To all of you loyalists out there, I'm sure your magic corpse will protect you.

We are protect by our void shields, power armors and faith.
But I don't know how well are you protected against Nova cannons, Exterminatus bomb and bolter shells?
And you will never get toTerra because Terra is guarded by more Space Marines that their entire number in galaxy combine. + the great Imperial Navy fleets around Terra and Mars + How knows how many Imperial Guardsman on planet + Adeptus Custodes and veteran Titan Legions.

I* love 'nids and everything but Brother Coa is right. The 'nids are gonna have to eat EVERYTHING else before being able to take on Terra

Yeah, the nids have a lot of work to do before reaching holy terra.

However, I don't know haw the emperor tastes like. Not well I suppose. Big E is basically a corpse that has been decaying for the past 10 000 years. Even the most starving carnifex would not want to eat the emperor.

Invading the Terra would be done not by passing all those defences You mentioned (orbital, planetary, palace, etc.) but through the warp portals that your Carrion Lord was manipulating (unsuccessfully). It was his undoing. Greed for power was his undoing. Muhahaha!

But nids don't manipulate the warp IIRC. So they would definitely have to go through Terra's defenses to reach Big E.

I wouldnt be too surprised if the chaos legions upon hearing this burst from the eye of terror to take on the tyranids, not out of loyalty but to make sure no one else destroys humanity but them. I really dont think the Tyranids could take on everything humanity has to offer alongside the traitor legions and all the daemon backup they can bring.
The emperor probably tastes like an IV drip, but I imagine anything that he could still shoot psychic bolts at anything that came close to him, and assuming something bit into him It'd likely be torn apart by the immense psychic power contained within that chunk of the emperor.

The Emperoris at least partially aware of his surroundings even if he can no longer move or speak, im sure he could summon the will for a quick smite or two is some fuggly bug was skulking arround, not to mention the fact that the custodes could probably sniff em out n pulverise em before he got near.

The Emperor obviously tastes like chicken, like any other unusual meats.

In terms of defeatinf terra, the key would be to starve it, and this depends on how self sufficient the Sol system is. Conusme everything surrounding the Sol system and you cut them off, and you can collect your numbers in one, all consuming swarm from all sides.

This.

Terra and Mars are both heavily overpopulated. There's no way those planets are self-sufficient. There has to be a massive shipping system set-up to provide them with food, water, oxygen, and all sorts of other supplies to keep them running.

Even a minor disruption in those logistics will quickly plunge the Sol system into ruin.

To all you guys saying 'we'll get into the solar system sooner then anyone else', I combat with Necrons. We landed on Mars. Terra wouldn't be much harder.

I'm guessing eating the rest of terra would be much more satisfying for the nids. The emperor is most likely dry and stringy from all those years on life support.

The implications would be much more interesting though.

The chaos gods could then start exalting Tyranid synapse creatures for finally killing their hated foe that even Horus failed to kill. Creating a new race of chaos nids, led by possessed Hive Tyrants and norn queens.
The Emperor would be reborn, ready to lead the Imperium in to a new golden age.
The necrons would use the tyranid diversion to attack mars (not much there for nids anyway) and free the void dragon while enslaving the cult of the machine god. Then they would move the entire planet out of the solar system to regroup.
The dark eldar would raid most of the hive worlds in Segmentum Solar as the imperial forces would be at Terra.
The orks would be wherever the fighting was fiercest.
The Tau would stay in their empire "for the greater good"
Finally, the eldar would be behind the entire event trying to manipulate the outcomes from the shadows.

Hivefleets can't be touched by chaos, the hivemind suppresses warp activity. Remember, the Tyranids have scoured the rest of the systems around Sol, so not alot of imperium left. I could see refugess fleeing to the Tau empire though.

And none of this will happen because Tyranid fleets are slowly being destroyed one by one. In few years there sill be no Tyranids left in the galaxy, but not without big sacrifices.

Well im putting my money on the giant "main fleet" looming in dark space. (fingers crossed) but honestly the most effecient hive fleet is leviathan and its still kicking the crap out of stuff. Other than that however you are right, hive fleets get wiped out after a couple of major battles. Seems the imperium doesnt like 'nids to much especially when they annihalate chapters of space marines haha. (maccrage)
