A few months ago I made one of the floating islands from the avatar movie.
I want to share some pics with you and wanna know what you think!

Than the sun goes down and the forest starts to shine.

And here you can see that is very easy to move, like my girlfriend is showing here.

Oh wow.
I hate avatar, but that is beautiful. The glow in the dark paints will make this interesting for night strike battles and such.

Really nice work here.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Love the use of UV paint (I assume that is what it is).

My first suggestion would be to use some water effects and more painting on the water pools to make them look a bit more realistic before adding in the UV paint.

My second suggestion would be to try and find (or make) some smaller scale plants - the stuff you are using at the moment is a bit too obviously plastic plants. Mixing up the scales would help you here. For example the hanging vines are just way too big, as are the flowers. You need to balance them with some 30mm scale stuff - check out model railway shops as they will sell plants that would fit in well.

Cool

I don't mind the overscale foliage so much but the flowers are a tad hard to accept
It is an alien jungle planet so who knows.

But some smaller plants mixed in around the edges could be good, not sure if a jump to the railway scale plants from what you have would work though.

I really like what you did here. Overall I thought it came out well. I would ditch the fake flowers that look too identifiable as bargain bin Hobby Lobby roses. The night time effect on the piece is an interesting touch. I'm wondering if you can play a war game in the dark though...hard to see the where the dice go. : )

Very nice concept to execution.

Minor ares for improvement.

Did you use glow in the dark paints or just the glow in the dark gel medium that you can get for resins?

I would be most interested in your WIP and list of materials.

In your wardrobe, looking for Narnia.

Oh cool. The glow in the dark is a really nice and surprising addition, didn't see that coming.
But I have to agree with some of the above posters, the fake flowers are a bit too obvious and need some scaling down.

Nice work though!

I think the whole thing is brilliant,i wasn't expecting the night time colours either.I think the flowers do look a little off size but hey its an alien jungle.I really think you nailed the avatar theme though, great work.

Impressive stuff.

If the humans had Space Marines then Avatar would've been a very different movie as well

The primary floating land mass is held up by strong pillars hidden within the waterfalls.

The secondary landmass is connected to the primary by the "vine" which is clearly strong wire of a kind. It is both lightweight and a counter balance to the primary.

Its clever.

Expertly done! I like the use of colors and the vine/wire supporting the small island. I have to agree with others though, the fake plants take away from an otherwise excellent piece of terrain.
