I'm curious, how much weight can the upper levels support? Can they hold, say, metal Dreadnoughts?

WOW... personally I dislike Avatar as it is pretty much the same as Fern Gully!, but this scenery piece is fantastic. Love the glow effect.

It's from Avatar the movie? I absolutely hated that movie, but that piece is chock full of awesome sauce! I love it. Really cool with the fluorescent stuff on there too, but I don't suppose that'll have much effect in games.

This terrain would make for a great tyranid vs SM campaign. you could have a day time color scheme for both armies, and then a night time color scheme for the same armies. It would be intense. nice terrain

The black light effects *make* the piece. Though it's quite amazing in daylight too!

Here you can see the basics of the floating mountain. The big problem here was balance.



You can see that the (plastic) dreadnought is too heavy for the island.
Here another angle shot .



The whole thing is now about 150 grams with structered paint and a black layer.
Than I added a second bar to fix the balance problem. Now It even can support a rhino.

Where can you get that foam? I have been looking for it forever and have been unable to find it anywhere. I had to start using fiberglass insulation that is similar but not as practical because it is fiberglass and makes people all itchy and stuff

This is a lovely piece. I want to use the same concept now. (Different form though.) I was blown away by the glow in the dark idea!

I just have to say this is the single most awesome piece of terrain I've EVER seen. Really brilliant, consider your idea ruthlessly stolen.

How Long will the Glow last is it indefinite every time you turn the lights out, or is it just a couplle hours?

Is it Invisble paint when the lights are on that you painted over the terrain?

I ask because I am thinking of painting Eldar Spirit Stones with Glow paint so that they look freaking awesome with the lights off.

I think that i have nothing to add. Absolutely stunning! Those glowing plants are amasing and whole island is good sized to be terrain. Whole gameboard of those... mmm...
