What movies have really messed up your psyche? I'm not talking
depression, but full on psychological Post Traumatic Stress. Movies
you will never forget, but you will never ever want to see again
because they've left their mark.
Or something like that.
I think for me, the movie that exemplifies the wtf film is Welcome
to the Dollhouse. In it, a young girl lives a life of being completely
forgettable. And when you get to the end, you realize nothing is
going to change for as long as she lives.
A close second is Requiem for a Dream because, well, that look
on her face at the end. She looks so happy to have her heroin...
And finally there's Leaving Las vegas. Because, it's Leaving Las vegas.
Let's keep this one NC-17?

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.
Eraserhead, and Mulholland Drive. Of course these are the movies I love to watch again and again.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

'Event Horizon' messed me up pretty bad. I couldn't go outside after dark for a week after that.
Maybe I'm missing the point here though. The ending of 'Repo Men' gave me a WTF moment, pretty standard movie until the last 20 minutes. Aside from the scene towards the end, where the main protagonist and his GF are cutting each other open to read barcodes on artificial hearts, pancreas etc. All while high on some sort of drug....
And maybe 'The Happiness Of The Katakuri's'. Because zombie musicals are wrong......as long as I am on Asian cinema, I'll throw in 'Audition', standard love story until the last 30 mins, when it becomes a full on 'Miseryesque parade of limb removal and the wrong use of acupuncture needles. o_o
Seriously, the whole Climax is an enormous mind feth.
I damn my gay former roommate every day for making us watch it.

Altered States and AVPII - Requiem, not because it's a messed up film, but it's utter and my personal experience of watching it was ranting about how utter it was and my viewing of it ended up involving bottles of alcohol and me passing out for a few minutes mid-rant, because of how mind blowingly it was. It wasn't even bad in an entertaining way - it was just an epic pile of rancid
Fear and Loathing also springs to mind, pure quality
Jaws. I still don't like ocean water I can't see in. Which is humorous considering the number of gator infested lakes I've been in.

Wait, you passed out drunk watching AVP II Requiem, but have no
similar story for Fear and Loathing?

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I thought AvPII was better than the first one....both were rotten, stinking corpses of films mind. It's just AvPII was a little less ripe

Frankenfish. I am still a bit scared by deep and murky water.
Also, Eye of the Beast (Ask mea bout fauna-horrer, I watch these all the time) a malignant giant squid in Lake Superior...odd, considering I love squids.

Yeah, Phantom Menace was especially bad. I spent the entire time wondering if it was a joke; at least when the second and third ones came out I kind of knew what was coming.

Watching the Phantom Menace is like watching a comedy short before your movie begins, but 20 minutes in you realize it's actually the movie.
