This thread is to show the Mars Pattern Warhound my buddy commissioned for his son's 11th birthday, with only two weeks notice. I really must like Adam to have taken this commission.

So these are the product of a Saturday all-nighter and half a Sunday. Wanted to try and stick the the proper average height of ten inches so this one will be slightly scaled down from my others.
When my order of tubing and clapboard styrene sheet comes in I will finish the bottom. That is probably tomorrow. Tonight I frame up the main hull and attempt to get it mounted.

Ok, so it's been a long week for me. About to post the remaining photos of the speed build. They are uploading as we speak. I hope everyone is pleased. I know the eleven year old for whom this was a birthday present was. Please, let me know what you think.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok, so here we go. Recapping where I left off, well, see above. And then there was more.
There was some debate as to which toe looked better. My better half, wisely told me to go with the one below.
So, we ended up with this:
I have also added the leg hydraulics at this point. And then toe hydraulics
I wanted the shin guards and codpiece to look alike:
And the Shin guards are magnetic:
A litlle detail on the back:
A little detail on the legs (vents):
And the bottom was done. 'Cept, I forgot the upper leg Hydraulics and will have to add them in.
Continuing on with the main hull, a bare bones box almost:
Add exhaust:
A strong magnet system that was replace with a rod and tube without photos or fanfare):
A head, cowl, and weapons (for none of which was there any time to take individual photos):
And you have a fully fleshed Mars Pattern Warhound Titan in 7 days 19 hours. Just under 36 actual project hours and, believe it or not, no aneurysms.
I will have better up close photos later but it had to get to the boys house for the party. I guess some of the minor things I wanted to add in can pass but I will owe him a Turbo Laser and Vulcan Megabolter. I also still need to put the upper leg hydraulics on. He won't miss them but I will know it is lacking. Luckily Adam lives down the road a few houses. I can take what I need to do it to his house and make the additions on the spot.
No, I did not have to paint it. Little Adam will have to, according to dad, which only means that dad (big Adam) will probably paint it. I will post painted photos when they are in.
Thoughts, anyone?

I actually want to do a single session video for posting. I think a sped up version of it showing the hound going together would be cool but sitting for 48 hours and building it would be a pain in the @$$. record it and then play it at elapsed speed, hehe.
Gonna take a few days break after this though. Three sleepless nights on this kijnda got me burnt out.

I take the odd commission here and there, but generally only when I need materials to feed my habit. This commission bought enough sheet styrene and tubing for about 10 warhounds but I plan on putting up some Land Raiders, Rhinos and a T-hawk for me.
Custom builds on the other hand are another story. If it is interesting enough, and hard enough, I may give it a try.

Holy this is awesome!
Its very, very detailed for a scratch build. It looks just like the real thing, maybe even better.

Thanks Poo, but if you haven't seen the Blackadders then you are really missing out. I actually have about 1/100 the detail he does (or less) and he is much cleaner. I honestly could not tell it was not a FW piece when I first saw the finished product. He is what started me on this hobby.

Amazing. I find it hard to imagine a better Scratch built Titan. I must see Blackadders then, for his to be better than yours it must be Mind-Blowingly, Out Of This World, Fully Sick and Epic with a cherry on top. You also have to remember you built yours in only a very short period of time and it is still undoubtedly awesome.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Me either, but the owner is a North American Grappling Champion so there won't be any pushing him to get it done as I appreciate my ability to walk.

Thanx Ghost, I appreciate the feedback. Sometimes it feels that I am alone out here in the warp drifting and..... Sorry, my delusions about being a Primarch came back for a second.

Thank you, Poo, I do forget that sometimes but then again I am a very impatient person. I do this, in no small part to help with that deficiency. But seriously, Blackadder and Tebrey are my mentors. I follow their modeling closely and attempt to learn from them all I can. I appreciate the feedback.

SilverMK2 wrote:That is awesome - what template (if any) did you use if I may ask?
Really none, I have used a template in the past, when I was working in foam coare board, but even then only for scale because, as I said, I had never seen a real one until my third was almost done. As I made this, though, I did make some of the parts extra in plasticard so that I wouldn't have to design them again should I ever do another one of these. Which, I think I am for my shop owner for Christmas. Thank you, it is cool that my work is appreciated
