Hi to all!
I present you an image of my last work, a scene inspired in a universe by all known ...
I needed to do a test about some new materials, like plastic plants and wood. I wanted to represent a jungle with the ruins of an ancient culture. That's why I used Scibor's resin heads, as ruined statues.
I converted the figures of this scene, because I didn't want to do another war diorama.
1st STEP
This project was very beautiful to me.
I put in this terrain a Sentinel machine and a catachan soldier. To made this scene I needed to convert some parts of the miniatures, specially in the soldier, who needed new legs and green stuff. He smokes a lot, as you can see, hahaha!
I wanted to represent the sentinel like an old warmachine, with some rusted effects and other kind of weathering effects. In the cabinet I made the security belts to make it realistic.
2nd STEP
I finished the terrain! And I painted it! (Oops! I need to clean the frame!)
Now we can see all the details that I made for this terrain: the mushrooms, roots, leafs... all minidetails who make this scene real.
The plastic plants that I used to this "jungle" are undetailed... and I decided to do something with them. I paint the nerves of every leaf. Yes, it is very hard, but the final result is good.
I like the final effect, with this swamp atmosphere. This terrain only needs the miniatures on it.
Paint paint!
3rd STEP
I posted this WIP in other forums, and some people asked me about how I do the water effect.
There is no secret about it; I used a "clear water effect" (Vallejo), a soft stuff that you can model very easy. I modeled the waves and foam in the rocks, and after that, I painted all the water with blue and white colours, like a sea scene.
Now I post you the paint of the Sentinel. There is no finished yet, but I show you the rusted and weather effects.
I need to put highlights on it and detail some sentinel's areas, but I'm happy with this machine.
4th STEP
The terrain was finished, and I finished the paint of the Sentinel and begin with the soldier. I must say that I've enjoyed very much with this work; it has allowed me to experience with some new techniques for future dioramas.
1.- The Sentinel ... it needed a work of rusts and outlined. I have improved it with a net in the cabin and I added some details like the little ladder.
2.- The soldier ... I tried to integrate it in the scene, adapting his color to the color scheme of the vehicle. A blue jacket and camouflage trousers.
3.- And finally I added some complements to detail the scene and provide it of some reality: the helmet, the rucksack, the cane, the package of cigarettes and the beers.
I think that this scene represents a real " Free Time! ".
Thanks for read me and take care!!

Amazing stuff right here. Well done.
The details make it.... like the fishing rod, cigarette packet and the sentinel door open.
In fact, did you just cut the door from the original mould then make your own out of plasticard?

Gorgeous, as always. Were this taken from any universe beside 40k, though, I might find it odd that a man relaxing by the riverbank would also appear to be screaming. Perhaps he's merely mid-yawn?

Very good, but I doubt he'd leave his gun in his sentinel, unless there's a holestered pistol I can't spot.

Thanks a lot for your replies!!
Always C&C are welcome, and I work to apply and improve myself.
Kevv6: I don´t remember very well... but I'm sure that I used for the statue cammo brown (Vallejo) for the base and Middle Stone (Vallejo). For lights I used Sand (Vallejo) and a lot of washes with brown, yellow, green and blue. A mix of many colors, like you can see in a real stone. And that's it!
Hemlighest: The fishing rod is inside a little hole, but maybe it needs a can or a stick to change that "magical" appearance. Thanks for the comment!
Rusty Robot: I cut the door from the original kit and I re-use it. Very easy! But I made a little hinges.
Oadie: Hahahaha! That's it, he's yawning... or just smoking. Who knows!!
Thanks a lot!!
