Alexandra V. Tobias is awaiting trial after pleading guilty to shaking her 3-month-old son to death. Can you believe that the Florida woman committed this senseless act of violence because her infant's cries were distracting her while she was playing Farmville on Facebook? How could this happen?
If there is any justice Alexandra V. Tobiaswill spend the rest of her life behind bars. The 22-year-old Jacksonville, Florida resident recently plead guilty to killing her 3-month-old son over an online game. She admits that Dylan Lee Edmonsonhad been crying for a while as she played the popular Facebook game Farmville.
Alexandra told police that when the infant wouldn't stop crying, last January, she stepped away from the game long enough to shake the boy, smoke a cigarette and then shake the boy again. The unfit mother suggested that little Dylan "may have hit his head during the shaking."
Disgusting. I can't stomach this kind of abuse. Considering that so many of my friends and family are struggling to conceive, it really enrages me that mothers can be so careless with the kids they were blessed to have.

Dylan's death has been classified as second-degree murder, so if convicted, Alexandra faces the possibility of life in prison. The Farmville craze - it has more than 75 million users who earn virtual money by growing and harvesting crops - is becoming a big cause for concern because there are so many reports of players, like Alexandra, have become addicted to the game.

Dr. Phil even featured a Farmville-addicted mother on his talk show in January. Playing Farmville online became an obsession for this woman. She admits to being on the computer playing from the moment she wakes up until late into the night, while her kids were eating microwaveable meals and living in filth.
If you find yourself spending way too much time taking care of your cyber crops, Dr. Phil suggests deleting the game to ensure that it doesn't become a bigger problem.
I'm going to share this story with every single one of my Facebook friends that like to boast about how well their corn crop and avocado harvests are doing. I suggest you do the same thing!

Yea the wife told me about that last night. What the feth is wrong with this world. I think people that find life so useless, specially towards children, need to be executed immediately. Because obviously they dont deserve the one they have

I like how the blame is almost entirely laid upon farmville rather than on the woman herself.

People are negligent, abusive or simply mental, this has always been true and always will be. Attempting to lay the blame on such an easy target is simply lazy.

Mother kills baby over farmville or, like thousands of others because of undiognosed postnaitle depression? What a load of BS.

They make it all about the game. The mother shook the baby for crying, not becuase of farmville. More likely she had mental health problems, which is the case most of the time with babys killed by their parants, moreso when the parants are young (well, mental, emotional or substance problems in most cases).

I also feel as if the mother had some sort of problem. No one just kills their child like that, over a game.
Besides you shouldn't be doing anything important when you are watching a child while playing video games. Always do something you can jump away from.
Kids are more important then games.

I think hanging is actually still legal in some states, but hasn't been used for a good while. If done properly, hanging is actually a relatively quick, humane way to execute somebody. I'm not sure why it would be a more appropriate method of execution than any of the other legal methods for any other crime that might warrant the death penalty.

Postpartum depression is a serious condition that can get quite severe. If they don't get help for it, the baby's definitely at some risk. We're fortunate that it didn't happen to us either time. But I know how frazzled we were from severe sleep deprivation and stress, and how nerve-wracking it is when your child just. won't. stop. crying. Now put an already severely depressed person in the parental role in that situation and you're talking about a dangerous and explosive combination. It's a good lesson for the parents-to-be out there -- if you even *think* you might be getting a little depressed after the birth, go talk to someone ASAP. Don't put your kid at risk.
