Having a clear out and have got loads of old bits from various GW kits. How do you guys get shot of them? Is it worth putting them on eBay?

I give them away. No charge (some people offered postage).
I gave away the contents of two 55l storage tubs (bits still on sprue) a few years back. Complete Leman Russ tank, complete wheel and track sprues, etc.

I wasn't using them and didn't need them. The people who took larger amounts paid postage that subsidised the other small ones.

If they are from ranges / models I know i'll never use... i take the to the LFGS which has a bitz box and dump them there. Otherwise I dump them in my own bitz box.

I do one of (edit) three things.

I either put them on eBay, some of them usually do quite well.

Or I make more vehicles for my Orks out of them.

(Edit) Or just save them for if I need them later.

I'm a bits hoarder. I have pieces left from the very first box of Chaos Warriors I bought back in 2000.

These days I'm much more organized with new bits, but my older stuff is just drawers full of them and I have no need or want to organize that nightmare.

When I have bits that I probably won't use I take them to my shop and donate them to the bits box. Throwing them away is a waste of parts that others could make better use of in a hobby that is already expensive.

Yeah, general agreement is you do not get rid of your bits EVER and any one of us is chomping at the bit to take them off your hands.

I even keep my sprues, cut them up into 3" lengths and put them through a meat grinder for great rubble.

I have spent a lot on bits, far too much really, in some cases I could have bought the box sets but then i'd end up building the models and still require the bits to spruce up the other models. Mainly in regards to blood angels death company should pads and sang guard shoulder pads heads

At the moment my bits box is rather big, I have just bought 20 sets of legs from a bits seller to use up what i have in there

I have a separate bitz box for each of my armies, plus another one for vehicle bitz.

i just get a partitioned plastic box from a local DIY shop.

Although they are starting to take up room so i'm thinking one big box for infantry of all flavours might be the way to go.

i too spend silly money on bitx shosp online. Still got a GK Dreadknight Daemon hammer i got over a year ago foa a DP conversion. never actualyl got round to buying the emon prince model itself though.

Keep them all in zip lock baggies. Bag for right arms, bag for left arms, bag for bolters, etc. If I ever get a bit one of my gaming buddies could use I just give them to them. Making your opponents army look better makes your games against them look better IMO.

Also, a fun thing for those of us who keep tons of bits, once in awhile you'll open up a bits box and be astounded by what goodies you find and it inspires you to make something interesting with it. Forgot all about that box of 3e DE. Hmmm...

If I want to get rid of bitz, I either trade them away at 'bitz swaps' at local FLGS or 'pay it forward' to an online community.

The effort to sell them on ebay is too much for me.

I am turning into a bits hoarder. I mostly buy faction specific bits lots on ebay, but every so often i buy random lots.

then i sort them, and when i get a big enough container I tend to put it back on ebay, to top up my paypal account for more bits.

its a terrible cycle.
