My DE got murdered today by Mephy he completely killed most of my kabalites then went through my archon and 4 incubi. In the same game Kharn killed absolutely tons of orks 50 I think and 2 deff dreads. Then to top it off Ahriman killed pretty much all the rest. How do I kill them and how do others with their armies? I'm guessing you kill mephy with things that ignore armour, Hesperax and such. Kharn with termies as he can't get through their armour and Ahriman with hordes?

Kill Ahriman in Assault. He's quite strong at Str 6 AP4 but if you chuck Incubi he'll die.
Kharn can go through 2+ save. His axe is +1Str, AP2. But he's Int 5 so use Wychs. Lelith will take him easy.
Mephiston? A Venom or two with Dark Lance will take him.

Keep lelith away from kharn.
The gap between WS is far far less than against normal troops, so she wont be getting that many attacks, and at S3, she wont really be wounding him a whole lot either.
In return though, he will butcher her.
Mephy is simple, just shoot him and watch as something the price of a land raider dies to a hail of bullets.
Ahriman, ive never gone against, so no idea there.
However, if he is with horde then venoms with twin cannons should tear the unit down pretty quickly.

Really? I would think Lilith would murder khan she still has 7 attacks which ignore armour against him and she reduces his attack by 1. That means he has to rely on a 5++ which is not going to save the necersarry 5 wounds...

On a normal turn in which niether charges, and Counterattck isn't in effect, they each deal 1 wound to each other. Of course, with Kharn's Str 6 he'd plaster her to the floor. And in the first turn, Hatred and Counterattack or rage tips the scales in her favour.
So yeah, disregard the idea of Lelith. Try Lelith at the the head of a Wych squad. He'l challenge and you can use Lelith to deline and wait him out while the Wyches fight him and you can use the opporutunity to take the rest of his squad.

How do 7 attacks cause 5 wounds on kharn? 0_o
Work out the rolls to hit and then to try and wound him, and you will see the main issue im talking about.
Dont get me wrong, i love lelith to death as her rules are amazing, but i'd pay another 50 points if i could have her at S4, as S3 really lets her down.

I was saying if she caused 7 wounds but I know that that is hilariously unlikely. But yes if she was strength 4 she would be ridiculously strong. It Is a testament to how good she is that at such a low strength she can still murder a squad of marines.

Mephiston is easy. His biggest advantage is his toughtness. We totally ignore that, then hes just a very expensive 6 wound termies. A unit of blasterborn in a venom will kill him in almost a single round. Any dark lances that get through will cause a wound. If you REALLY want to kill him in CC send Drazhar at him, Mephy carnt get through his armour while Draz ignores his.
Kharn. Well he *IS* going to be in a transport, pop said transport. He *WILL* be with a unit of beserkers of Khorn marines, pick them off. When Kharn stands alone, a single dark lance has a great chance of killing him. With only a 5++ and no eternal warrior, str 8 is his bane. Once again, if you *NEED* to kill him in CC a simple archon with a huskblade will pull a number on him. Killing him in one turn.
Ahriman: Get an allied farseer/eldrad (you havn't already???) with runes of warding. Laugh. Any spell he casts has about a 40% chance to cause a wound, and above 50% to not cast. Save that a dark lance works (once again, no EW) and the huskblade archon. But watch as the Ahriman player rages about your runes of warding, once again, laugh!!1

Mephiston gets wrecked nowadays to anything with an AP2 weapon and a 2+ save.
Shoot Kharne.
I dunno about Ahriman.
Why are you fighting against BA and CSM at the same time?

It was a large 4 way battle, there were orks as well. I don't perform well in larger battles especially with DE and I got destroyed Mephiston died in the end but BA player still won.

Were you allied with the Orks? Or was it just 4 players, each takes a turn, etc? Because that would be a ridiculously long game and there wouldn't really be a way to prevent getting attacked for 3 straight turns...

Khârn doesn't have to challenge if there's a Champion (or another IC) in his squad though, as the Champion can challenge instead. Sure, you probably kill off the champion easily. Then Khârn and friends do the same to your entire squad of Wyches.

Anyone who tells you to fight Kharne in melee has simply never fought him before. Avoid that mess. Any character that trys to take him on one on one is going to have an incredibly tough time with it...and that's if they don't get straight up chumped.
Shoot him. Shoot him and the unit he is with until they die. Pile on wounds from range and profit.

Sanguinor kicks Kharns arse in most of the BA v CSM games I have played recently.
As for Mephy only having a AP3 weapon, its a bit of a pain, however it IS a force sword so instant death if you fail even one armor save for most targets of his nastiness....

The best advice for dealing with these three is Meltaguns, although it's hard to bring enough of them to take Ahriman down since he's usually in a mob of 4++ saves and has one of his own.

he must use his sword, as he has no other CCW

Kharns wording isn't great in the new dex - it just says he's immune to ID from force weapons.
*If Meph hits him with his sword at str 10 - he's still causing instant death with a force weapon, therefore kharn is immune.
*Not my opinion, just the way it seems to be written in the chaos dex.

We also play it this way, I'm a GK player in our group and I don't get butthurt about it. Besides I try to avoid combat with him anyways. =p
