With the recent realize of the Genestealer Cult, we saw a huge excitement on the forum, and I understand that.
It seems a lot of people want to began a cult army/add some GC to their army.
So, how many are you ?
As I have Space Hulk and Battle for Macragge's genestealers and broodlord, I could very well add some cultists myself and have a little army, but I won't do it before months, or even 2017, as I am already too late with my paint schedule

I unfortunately wasn't in the game when the original GS cult came in, but I've always loved Genestealers so I will definitely start one.

Might grab some to ally with my Nids. Do we know everything about them? Especially whether they can be taken in Cad/Allied detachments?

They can theoretically be taken in a CAD cuz they do have troop choices and 3 HQ choices.

But they're very limited as beyond a few troops, one or two elites, and three HQs, they have nothing else. Finally, all three of the HQs are marked as Unique, so even if you stretch it out, three CADs is all you get.

I just got into 30k, so I need every penny I can spare to go into building my Legion(s). If I hadn't started 30k, I certainly would have built a Genestealer Cult. Love the models and fluff. Certainly going to do it if I ever tire of my Legions and want to get back into 40k.

What I cant understand is why GW didnt make some more minor tweaks to the 40k rules for these guys.
Im mean seriously would it have been that hard or broken to give the Stealers sything talons so they have 4at on the charge or give the Pat assault grenades? Couldnt the Pat access biomancy for a fluffy flavour?

Stealers and cultists are one of the big draws to 40 (I had an all stealer army a few editions ago).

Sadly no longer supporting GW with my money so will not be purchasing this or anything related.

I think I'll pick up some genestealer cult stuff, but it'll mainly be for Necromunda/Inquisitor28mm stuff, where I feel these guys fit in the best.

I have always loved the concept, even though I didn't get into the game until long after the army was gone. I'll have to see their rules (to compare the points and see how many I'd need to get a half-decent force going, not because I'm a TFG.)

I've been planning a "counts-as Sternguard" Deathwatch squad for my Crimson Fists for a long ass time now. Looking at the minis in the box, I'm not really crazy about most of them. I may just buy the old Deathwatch upgrade kit instead...

I'm half tempted to buy them and add to my current GS cult.

Issues comes up though as the new ones are alot bigger and won't look right.
Would save me paying around £8 for a basic hybrid though.

Nope. Even though I like Stealers' fluff and have lots of the buggers in my 40k army, hybrid models have never really done anything for me. I would love to get the Patriarch model because it looks pretty cool, but not going to buy the whole boxed set for 1 model

I'm considering allying the GSC to my Necrons to see how that works out. Not sure WHY Necrons would ever ally with Genestealers, but that's beside the point.

When or if they get a full codex, I will definitely add them into my Nids at some point.

That's very interesting, half of the Dakka members answering the poll wants to do GSC, now or later. A good move by GW !
Can I ask you why ?
Personally, a friend of mine already do tyranids, so I prefer to avoid doing a hive-fleet myself, I have a lot a genestealers (as I said earlier), their background is great and the minis are beautiful. And, at last, it is an ennemy of the IoM !
Oh and I don't play in a very competitive meta, so no problem with genestealers being bad^^

It crossed my mind to add to my Tyranid army. However, I don't currently run any genestealers, and my army is heavy on monsters. I don't think the models, although I think they are awesome, would fit in with the look or feel of my army.

I'll be building a Genestealer cult army. I still have a lot of models from the previous generation so this has kick started my interest in renewing that army, and the rules seem to be good too.
As has been said above the only problem is they don't have many options so they would need to ally something in. I think Imperial guard would work, those that have yet to be turned (or don't yet show it outwardly) or those that are waiting to be impregnated with the next generations of Niddlings.

I have a feeling most people making a gsc army are going to be tyranid players just because it opens up new tactics for them.
I don't think it will be as big as cult mechanus in popularity because it's still essentially tyranid and guardsmen.
