That last photo seems pretty odd. 5 of an unannounced miniature in the photo, several of which seem to be a store shelf?

Either this is Guerrilla marketing, or OP runs a hobby store. I'm leaning towards the former.

Is the “Warhammer Commemorative Series” a new thing?

Is the commemorative series a black library thing?

Because I don’t recall much of any named character named gorzag gitstompa.... a barebones ork boy with a shoota and Choppa isn’t exactly going to do a whole lot.

I really can't think of what this could be for, unless it's just a random non-event thing like the Terminator Chaplain was. We've still got a Grombrindal Miniature coming this year, haven't we?

The "commemorative series" is what they've been using on their limited edition model releases, at least for the last few - the Bugmansson has it too, and so did the Terminator Chaplain.

Nikkit is the grot in GW's on-going webcomic Spannerz, but the ork in that is named Deffbad. I'm also not entirely sure grots have a particularly vast range of names either though, so it might just be pure coincidence.

Seems like it's just an homage to the Gorkamorka Nob, the way Slambo got a commemorative release (even if not an actual branded Commemorative Series release)

Cant wait to pay $200 because scalpers hoovered up the stock, just like they do with all the other cool limited models.

That said, looks great. Since I'm starting Orks I might pick one up if I get lucky enough to find one MSRP

Is this the ork they teased for during the streams for 9th edition?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

It's absolutely not the Ork on the short video of "new edition, new models". IIRC, that one had some kind of chainaxe and a bigger gun.

I find it impressive this guy was teased 12 months ago and still hasn't seen release.

This a very famous model of an ork nob from the 90s, which was released back then (in metal) as a special miniature for some particular occasion. It's not the same cast though, model has been revised a little bit and it's more modern looking now.

Always loved it and wanted to have one but prices on ebay were insane. I hope GW doesn't cost him as an average HQ (25ish £), as it's still a 17ppm model.

A quick visual guide, as I do like my Loot.

Sister and Chaplain are both Commemorative Series packaging. As is Jakob Bugmannson, who’ve I’ve yet to pick up. All three were globally available, and Made to Order

The Catachans? Well, both have Store Anniversary packaging. However, 2020 has changed that up. One was given as a freebie to FLGS, the other was another globally available Made to Order.

Our third category of exclusives, the Librarian, there’s no specific packaging, yet it was again a globally available Made to Order.

I suspect this is all down to 2020itis, and it’s unusualness. But I’d wager the Ork will be a globally available Made to Order Job.

No. My Catachan Col isn’t for sale. And given take away drivers can’t find my house, good luck burgling me!

No that Ork had a Grotsnik style bionic arm, a scar across his stomach and he had some form of Squig Hyde armour on his shoulder.

It isn't the exact same cast though. Pose is slightly different and details are cleaner, a more modern model overall.

New Gorkamorka is probably a bad thing (caveat: for me), as I really don’t need any more excuses to add to my plastic mountain of shame.

That’s an awfully nice looking Ork though.

Is GorkaMorka coming back, again?

This is a bit .... Random?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
