They would have to add customization back to ork vehicles if they did.

Good misdirection. But we know that new Gorkamorka is definitely on the way.

Nope. The new edition will come with pre-designed load outs. Building your list is how you will customize.

If memory serves, most if not all the Kustom Jobs are available across the Trukk and Battlewagon kits as is. Boarding Planks, Wrekkin Ball, Klaw, different rams?

Not exhaustive of course, but I’m struggling to think of what existed in the original.

Scrap grabba, wheel slashas, and the shouta from the official Gubbinz magazine come to mind. Those are all conversions you can still make from existing kits though.

Sad I don’t remember the original rule book or Digganob though.

I was wondering that myself - I didn't think Gorkamorka was even on the radar for a 2nd edition, let alone "definitely on the way".

I've never heard so much as a credible peep about such a thing. That doesn't mean it isn't but it does mean I want a source if it's something that's "definitely" happening.

Why else would they release this ork in plastic. It’s clearly a sign of impending gorkamorka.

Because it's a special edition model as it says on the box? ala the sob, Bugmansson etc? It's not an indication of anything Gorkamorka. And wasn't Gorkamorka actually a massive flop when it released originally?

I'm honestly not sure either way about whether Gorkamorka was a flop or not - it did well enough to produce an expansion with, what, three extra gangs in there?

Apparently they nearly bankrupted the company over ordering translated versions of Gorkamorka, if I remember correctly.

Seems like, at one point, you could get a copy of the base game for free for subscribing to White Dwarf or some other arrangement.

That’s nothing special for the day though.
They used to always give such great offers for a WD subscription.

It was.

And as you say this model is a special edition thing.

It does not herald a new Grokamorka any more than that noise marine we got
heralded a new Emperor Children (still waiting)... codex.

They are both special edition figures, made to generate sales mostly base
on players nostalgia.
No more to read there I am afraid.

I don't believe Gorkamorka will be coming back. It wasn't that popular. That being said it was a fun game that didn't take itself seriously. As an ork player it's always great to get a new model for the range. I remember the metal fig. It was great for it's time. I liked how they cleaned it up. Hopefully GW will bring back other great models from the different ranges. If nothing else it's not another primaris Lt.

They had a teaser pic of this model in December 2019, and didn't release a Commemorative ork model in Orktober? In what universe is that sensible marketing?

Simple. GW found out that if they declare "ORKtober!" then people expect four weeks of Ork releases.

Plastic terminator was on that logic sign of immident space hulk...

There's also ork codex coming sooner or later.

And most ork players won't get this anyway

This ork was not a gorkamorka model though, the only link it has with gorkamorka is that they're both very old .

Orktober was one of event in 2018. Bit too late for orktober when teased year later...

Well they (did) have the speedfreaks box set with the new buggies. Maybe if they did new trukks they could do a few spruces of those with some new boyz and release it around the same time as a new codex. It would also keep the copyright locked up. More ork terrain too would be good for multiple games, 40k, kill team and Gorkamorka. Basically they would get a lot out of a little effort.

Got me all excited that there might be a new gorkamorka coming out. These days they pretty much have all the models they need to make a new Gorkamorka, the Ork vehicle range is a lot more expansive now than it was back then.

They could do it just by bundling existing kits without really making anything new. Maybe a sprue or two for vehicle upgrades and some new Boyz

Yeah, I heard the same, though it was never terribly clear whether the game was a flop or GW just overinvested while trying to tackle new markets.

The game was popular for a time here when it was around and had a bit of a cult following for a while. Back in those days the local GW store was bustling with games running flat out most evenings, and the likes of Gorkamorka and Space Hulk were pretty popular.

Since Necromunda has gotten lots of attention recently (Stu Black has mentioned it has always been his favourite GW game - coincidence?), releasing a new Gorkamorka might be a good way for GW to sell their existing Ork kits while everyone waits for the new codex. It doesn't seem probable tbh, but not totally impossible either I guess?

But I wouldn't say this mini release signifies Gorkamorka is getting a revive. It's just a sculpt they wanted to release as a kit at some point in time, don't read too much into it.

Does the modern Trukk need a redo already? I could some form of gubbins sprue for Gorkamorka vehicles, though, along with at least more scatter terrain in the style of the stuff from Speed Freaks - did that get a release on its own, btw?

It'd also be a good vehicle for a proper plastic Deffkopta kit, given Gorkamorka was where the idea originated from...

With regards to the commemorative series, has John Blanche's female chaos(?) warrior ever been released?

New gorkamorka would be a super dream come true, im a huge fan of it, its been some years since i start a personal revival of it converting modern miniatures ! But sadly my hope are really low, hope to be wrong but i dont think this miniature have any connection with a new edition of something like that. Speed Freeks broke my heart once yet, gw must stop to play with my feeling . I dont pretend a new gorkamorka, i just want new boyz to make some new warbands. No hope either i know.

Said so i like the miniature; the original sculpt, like all the brian nelson gorkamorka orks, are still unrivaled, but it seems nice anyway, lets hope i will like him when ill got it .

Perhaps it was originally intended for October 2020 and the huge release schedule disruptions this year knocked it back?
