That is awful.
Does Sony make terrible superhero films on purpose? They have to be pulling a long con, right? Even The Mummy (the Tom Cruise version) isn't as flat out stupid as this looks.
The only way we can ever solve anything is to look in the mirror and find no enemy
Sony really does ask for the "How many times do we have teach you this lesson old man" Spongebob meme to be whipped out for all the weird Spiderman villain spin off movies they try pumping out.
Maybe third time's the charm for them to finally stop?
I'm just waiting for a Shocker standalone film where he shocks his cock for all the world to see.

"Sold, here's eleventy gazillion dollars."
How bad is it that they can't even make the trailer make the film look good?

It feels like an elaborate money laundering scheme at this point since they're so comically bad.
Then again they were dumb enough to re-release Morbius thinking that the meme jokes of it being good somehow equated it to actual movie goer interest.
I bet it does better than Morbius, since it doesn’t have Leto dragging it down. Doesn’t look like it has the fun that Venom does however, taking itself fully seriously.
It does have Russell Crowe. Who certainly has an accent.
Not sure what that accent is meant to be though. I’m guessing it’s a stab at South African?
Well. I say stab, I mean a wild swing at a black piñata in a lightless room when both your eyes have been plucked out and someone has swapped the usual stick out for just the handle.
But it’s definitely an accent. I think.

I broadly agree with this.
This looks like it’s taking itself too seriously, and Morbius had that problem too in addition to having Leto in it. On the other hand, Matt Smith was great in it, pretty much the only fun in the whole film.
This looks to be misjudged, but expect it to be better than Morbius. Russel Crowe seems to be channeling the same performance as his cameo in Tom Cruises’s The Mummy so that isn’t doing it any favours either.
I live in hope that will be a charmingly whimsical experience where our hero Bad Bunny blunders through the movie trying to get to a team up with Spider Man (never present but implied to be there via a series of phone calls and messages from other people),
but due to wacky wrestling inspired hijinks Bad Bunny is always late arriving at the scene after the action and Spidey has gone, continually bumping into the same cops who keep suspecting he must have been involved somehow
Can someone please explain the appeal of Bad Bunny to me?
First time I saw him, he was powerbombed off the stage by Kevin Owens. Though that might’ve been the equally inexplicable Machine Gun Kelly now I think about it.

For real.
Both Venom movies looked awful, were reviewed as mediocre at best, but somehow managed to turn enough of a profit Sony shrugged and said 'alright lets do it again.'
Disney: "Hey Fox- you've had those Licenses for the Xmen and Fantastic four for a while now.. how about..."
Fox: "Heck no!"
Disney: "Okay then.." (Gets on cell phone) "We own you now... Hey Sony!"
Sony: "AH! Don't hit me!"
Disney: "No, no- we just want to borrow Spidey."
Sony: "Oh.. so, we can put out terrible films of little known villians and anti-heros from Spiderman?"
Disney: "Whatever forces you into bankruptcy quicker."
"Cold is the Emperor's way of telling us to burn more heretics."
The Venoms arent, like, Good movies, but they’re Entertaining. They Know they’re not good movies and just have fun with it and are then fun to watch. Meanwhile Morbius plays it completely straight, and it’s just stupid. Will have to wait and see which one Kraven tries to be.
The Venoms played well because teenage boys and stoners is a large enough demographic to underpin a hit whilst being too stupid and undemanding to actually realise they're being short changed and demand better.
I assume Morbius didn't do as well because angst ridden vampire plays to the teenage girl and 50 shades fans, and they're, remarkably, more discerning.

I mean it worked great for the Halle Barry Catwoman film right?

Venom is also by now an eistablished character with his own built in fanbase and a reasonably long running comic book series. he makes sense to get a movie, but that doesn't mean "the guy who shot uncle ben" should be given his own movie. which I think is Sony's mistake here, they're thinking of Venom as "just a spider-man villian" when he's more akin to the Punisher, or Deadpool, who likewise orginated as antagionists for someone else (Punisher for Spider-man, and Deadpool for the New Mutants) even Morbius had his own series for a time, but Kraven the Hunter?
weeeeird play

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
Venom kind of worked because Tom Hardy is a decent actor. Whilst there’s plenty to dislike about the movies and how the character was written? I don’t think anyone can say Tom Hardy’s performance was poor.

There's nothing redeemable about anything in this spiderless Spiderverse Sony seem hellbent on, and anybody trying to pick bits out of it to try and claim it's not as bad as it could be is akin to Homer crying the pig is still good as it hurtles down the hill and into the river.

Agree with this.
About the best anyone can say about any of these is that Morbius looked like Morbius. Venom looks like Venom.
Also, side note. Badbunny is out as El Muerto. But the movie isn't canceled yet hahaha.
