Tom Hardy plays Venom, Lethal protector but ASLO played Bane in Dark Knight movie.. who uses the super-steroid called: Venom.....
Tom Hardy is full of Venom, one way or the other! Now they just need a movie where he gets bitten by a snake.
And, getting back to the actual topic: Trailer looked like Kraven had mutant abilities or something superior and I thought he was normal in the comics- like, he had a lot of training and a knack for hunting, but he was like Hawkeye in that respect. Guess Superhero movies gotta Super-hero.

Kraven, at least from the 90s Spider Man cartoon, was definitely not just a regular human. He had the full gamut of super strength, speed, and agility from some weird serum I think he himself was working on.
Automatically Appended Next Post: In fact, I'll go further. There's nothing redeemable about anything in this spiderless Spiderverse Sony seem hellbent on, and anybody trying to pick bits out of it to try and claim it's not as bad as it could be is akin to Homer crying the pig is still good as it hurtles down the hill and into the river.
Mostly yes for the reasons you gave.
But, a fraction of no, due to Tom Hardy putting in a very solid performance the film itself simply didn’t deserve.
And so the fraction of No is “it had a singular redeeming quality. Imagine if they’d cast an “actor” entirely bereft of screen presence and charisma” just how much worse it would’ve been.
Sole redeeming factor does not mean “it’s actually secretly good”. At all

Kraven, I believe, has a knock off version of the heart shaped herb. It's NOT the herb specifically, but a mystical mixture of herbs and whatever brewed into a tea and drank ritually to enhance strength, speed, reflexes... etc...
These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

But I don't agree with this even. It wasn't a "solid performance" it was a "take the cheque so you can afford to do projects you actually care about" performance.
That someone else might have been worse is a truism you can apply to basically every role ever played, and can seldom be proven to the contrary because that opportunity seldom comes up outside of the theatre.

Again I need to disagree.
Tom Hardy was clearly doing what he could. He may well have regretted signing on in the first place? But he still gave a good account.
Yes it would be a lazy truism if an otherwise decent actor clearly phoned it in. Tom Hardy just….didn’t. He was game. He did what he could.

That is one of those things where it depends on the writer. Historically he didn't have that but later it did pop up sometimes to justify his ability to face Spider-Man. I prefer the "Lex Luthor" approach to Kraven as a clever hunter using his wits to try and take on an obliviously OP enemy. It is much more interesting than just another super powered villain.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
All this exists for basically the same reason the DCEU existed: Venom made a ridiculous amount of money throughout the 90's and some executive assumes (probably rightfully) that they can cash in on that via films. That's why they forced Venom into Spidey 3 and pretty much everything since has been trying to make the solo movies they want to make happen no matter how little it makes sense to do so. Mostly though the character suffers from the same thing the DCEU did: the 90's made a lot of money but the actual stories severely lack substance or tend to be the kind of stuff where the audience that thought it was really cool completely missed the satire.
We don't talk about Bruno/ Topher Grace Venom! They really screwed the pooch there, especially the fact the venom Symbiote had to double his muscle mass and still looked waify. Sticking him in did nothing for the story and I severely think that when you have more than 2 villians in a superhero movie, it competes too much (unless that's the Schtick, like Suicide Squad).
At least Sony hasn't fallen into Fox's fallacy that they had with the F4 movies, where the Micheal B Jordan one was SO bad the director said "Do no go see this!"- Plus that one in the 90's that was never released, but the contract sated they had to have a movie shooting or coming out every 4 years or something like that to keep it in perpetuity.

That’s the trouble when you do Spidey’s rogue’s gallery sans Spidey, innit?
But I’m guessing Kraven is all about hunting the ultimate prey (it’s man!) and then whatever Rhino is in this (some kind of mutagen rather than techno suit coated inside in glue)

I am a right slag for gore. Even when it’s poorly done.
Well, let us know how it goes....
Meanwhile the rest of us are just going to wait till it hits streaming.
Granted, thats not quite seeing it for free. Afterall we're already paying for Netflix etc. But it's not costing any extra either- like it would if seen in a theater.
As for actually seeing it for free? I'd have to go to the effort of pirating it. And that's more effort than a Sony not-SpiderMan movie is worth.
And that's just sad when your movie isn't even worth stealing.
It looks like they hired someone competent to cut this trailer. It looks not awful. Sure, by the numbers and forgettable, but not disastrous. Which makes me sad.
I was hoping for another “he worked with my mom in the Amazon studying spiders just before she died” classic.

Yeah, honestly half the fun was the train wreck dialogue being shown in the trailers so people could memify it.
1 week til the Lord blesses us with this film (Dec 13 USA release)
Gotta be honest, the gratuitous violence does kind of appeal to me, but no way in hell am I gonna fork over movie theater cash for this.
