So when you were applying for other jobs did you add *trained in ordinatus construction* in your list of skills?

Because it worked! Congrats!

Senator, I can neither confirm nor deny that the Ordinatus was or was not a part of my negotiation strategy.

More importantly, am I going to see you at GenCon here in a few weeks?

Yes to both. GenCon is bought and paid for. Room 212 is my anchor for the weekend.

Well, somedays the gak stick hits people you like. Got back from visiting a friend in the hospital, who had his appendix and a swatch of small intestine removed due to "canceroids", which is cancer...ish. He should be okay (praying, positive thoughts appreciated) but it does give you a sense of your own mortality, that's for sure.

So, let's see what's on the workbench.

Here's a shot of a couple of "noodling" projects. the last of the Salvage Valks gets some engine treatment, and a $10 toy I picked up at the Hobby Bunker gets some prelim attachments. It is made of standard toy plastic, which doesn't take ANY glue. So, I'm going to have to drill, baby, drill to permanently mount the extra bits. But I think you can see where I'm going with this.

And, I know you're all impatient, so here's some progress shots. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!

After much internal debate and gnashing of teeth, I decided it would be best to go with AdMech red across the board, including the main decking and missile launch tableaux. The next pass will be boltgun metal, which I may or may not apply with an airbrush, we'll see. Then, a wash of black. The missiles have gotten their dark grey (Krylon dark grey automotive primer for the win) basecoat (away from the dark green I was originally thinking of). I chose to run away from the red and green Christmas Ordinatus. Ho, ho, ho. The missiles will be brushed up through a medium grey, then white, then washed with black, and a final white coat, before decals and details. I used this technique on the "Coast Guard" rescue Valk, and I was very, very pleased with how the white came out on that. So, duplication of successful effort = win, right? Right.

After I wash down the Ordinatus sections, I'll be going in full throttle with the brushes. The airbrush I have isn't fine enough to do detail work with, which is fine. Once I'm done, then I'll seal the model, and install stained glass in the windows.

It is, in fact, a dirt cheap Gorgon taking shape. If it works out, I may have Galorn cast up some of the assault ram/ramps, and make a small fleet of them, for giggles.

Well, I have two needs, really. One is for a city-fight table. But, for that, I'm thinking more toward the Pegasus Hobbies intact buildings. No, the panels, I think, will go into storage for a bit, while I acquire foam, some spackle, some craters, and some medium-weight chain. Oh, and some wooden display bases and wooden support rods. And a couple of skyshields. And maybe for Fortress of Redemption, and some bastions. Yeah.

Mostly, on my phone.

The ordinatus really needs some sparkly gold bits and an angelus on top looks great mate, I always find it a challenge to get things painted after spending ages on a modelling project.

Finally... some *real* progress! Looks good Brian... coming along very nicely. AdMech/Red was a good decision.

For those of us not schooled in obscure 40k vehicles... what exactly is a Gorgon?

and illnesses like cancer, aids, and alzheimer are the stuff i have nigtmares about... everything else is quicker and get´s you over sooner than the above... better qucik than slow i think... and hopefully a long time still far away in the future... best wishes for your friend!

It's actually not very obscure nowadays, quite available from FW, designed for the DKoK.

Good luck with that, Room 212 is one of the conference rooms in the Convention Center.

Oooh, that could be a good thing with the new fortification rules if was allowed to actually breach things...

I haven't checked the rules, but the Gorgon and the Hades Breaching Drill are both designed to bash their way into fortifications.

The Gorgoin afaik is just a full strength platoon carrier.

It was made for the DKK to transport 50 man platoons over the trenches and across no-mans land. The front ramp is basically an uber siege shield rather than a fortification breacher, its just an incredibly thick front armour piece, for when it charges head on at guns.

Well your thread has it all. I really like your Guard in the early pages. The Minotaurs are cool, too. The head swaps are very fitting. Then there are the Blue Angels, nice. And, of course, you built a freaking Ordinatus. That think must have cost a fortune! I salute your skills and courage sir!

Not as much as you might think, as I already had a pair of superheavies lying around from payment for services rendered. The killer, really, was buying up a ton of Manticore Missile Parts.

Thanks for the kind words!

That is a monster. We should get a game of APOC in before the end of the season. APOC CARNAGE!!! Man, that would be horrific. 12X4, say a 5K per army limit? I'd have about 1/2 of my Death Guard out.
