Well I've just sold the last of my CSM's on eBay, netting myself a tidy total of £70 ($110usd-ish). not bad If I do say so myself. the money will go back into my Tyranids, including the much needed wet-effect as well as the next 500pts of the army.
Lookin good there Childe!- how many of those do you have to paint?

3d6 per Tervigon, any doubles means they poop out that round, and stop.
My opponents on one table at Adepticon fielded FOUR Tervigons. Imagine that for a moment. 12d6 'gaunts per turn. That meant they had to have a minimum of 12 and a max of 72. PER TURN.
--B.
PS: And, if you want to be 100% anal, they had to have the ability to identify which squad was which, so bringing tons of identical 'gaunts is not the best idea ever...

Firstly, I have one of my many many orders from ebay, The Army Painters grass tuft range. I bought highland and marsh tufts, and I thought at first for the price, they were a little steep, but then I realised that the two blisters I bought would do my entire army eventually. which isnt bad imolols.
and lastly, there is the base for my Heirodule I've been working on. and its now finished.
Oh I thought you did that with static grass! Those tufts seem like a cool idea!

THere is a difference between lazy and innovative the means need to justify the ends, less work is always good, but not always at the cost of being more expensive. Your mileage may vary, of course

You can make your own tufts with white glue, static grass, and a proper, electric, static grass applicator.
ORrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, you can just buy some. And at their price, it really is a better time::money ratio.

They do look pretty good man, good standard of painting.
But if you did want to change them, I think the main problem is that the green and the grey are both dark on a dark base. If you made the base a lighter colour I think you would be able to bring out the colours better, but you can't go a grey :/ cause there legs are grey..
Were you doing a jungly swamp base? Or do i remember wrong?
Unless your bases arent finished yet? Then I'd say do them and see how that looks

Very true, in this case as Brian said I think the cost to work time ratio is worth it.
I think gw usues some sort of processed silica grains instead of sand so that it doesn't all sink to the bottom..but I also think that their new texture paints are actually lgs mixed with paint, rather than just paint.
I doubt it'd be silica balls tbh, as that stuff is used for moisture retention, and GW's paints are acrylic so, so water based.
..It has that same consistancy on the brush as the LGS.
True, but that may be the sand tbh, as its exceptionally grainy, even for fine sand... not that I'm complaining, because it'll be worth it for my Proteus Land Raider when I get it.

yup, they be blasted wetlands bases.

No they aren't finished lols, they need wet effect and some long grass attached.

hey cool! those five new gaunts look not too shabby... the one in the front looks as if he had the best highlights tho... but i like them all!
and those tufts looks really interesting too... tho i fear for that tervigon the base is verging on the too small fro my opinion...
and my wife said i should visit the doc too... i i think i will pay the doc a visit...and i too have thought in the back of my mind of conjunctivitis ...darn... i don´t need that right now...
I wouldn't worry about the docs too much tbh, it'll only be a course of anti-biotics, so that for two weeks isn't so bad
Reet, come the end of the week *fingers crossed* I shall be making a large order for the following items:
-Vallejo Water effect
-2x Venomthropes. (might hold off on these as I need some other parts to help with converting the pair of them)
-More blasted wetlands bases (20x 25mm, 5x40mm, 2x60mm)
-2x Boxes of Gargoyles.
-Tool roll for sculpting tools and files.
It'll set me back a tidy sum, but will be worth it in the end tbh.
lols, to me, the cost might as well be the price of the world. but, considering the money I've acquired from selling my old CSM's, can afford a blow out this time round. Although I'm having to reassess what I'm buying as I need new headphones... stupid right headphone for breaking *sassafrassarassa*
Viktor von Domm wrote:hmmm... headphones...what are they good for ...absultultly n*** er... hmm... two way tie i think then^^
I cannot live without listening to music, headphones are more essential than breathing to me!!! Well I've finalised my budget now, which is as follows:
Hmmm, I likey the Tufts, saves a lot of frustration static grass fibres cause.
