Go ahead and enjoy it... feel free to bask in the glory for as long as you can... I think perhaps your 30 tanks may enjoy the sunlight, but darkness is all that your 65 infantry will ever see... The only admirable scene I recall was when your 5 dudes with flamethrowers let curiosity get the better of them... they slowly crept up to the impassable piece of odd terrain that their tank had come across.. not knowing what it was, they peered every so close... only to be welcomed by a huge squad of beasts that came crashing out of the warp... shredding them to pieces and then suffering an entire round of tank fire, until only the last clawed fiend, dazed and confused by the shots and blinded by the smoke on the field, wandered away...

I guess it is safe to say that I should always prepare for you with lots of Lances... though the assault battles are just so much fun!!!

And yes there is a daycare centre, I mean GW, close by there. If you're a loyalist scum you'll go there instead of Legends. But there is more incentive to the latter because they sell a lot of things at a discount, including Citadel products for 20% off retail prices.

Would you guys be interested in playing in a 40k tournament at Legends Warehouse?

I've talked to the owner and he's cool with me setting up a 1 day 3 round tournament Sunday April 29th - 1850pts.

We're looking for 8 players and it would probably be a $15 entry fee. All the money collected would go towards in-store gift certificates, $60 for 1st, $40 for 2nd, and $20 for third.

If we get the full 8 man turn out, I am also willing to contribute a free ticket to our June 9th event at Conquest Toronto.

The gauntlet has been thrown.

I think I am. Maybe we can get our epic 2v2.

Good to see you on the thread Clarence, we met at one of the monthly tournies at Heavy Support (I was playing the shamefully unpainted IG army).

What is the format/scoring and how many points are we playing?

It will be based on pure generalship.

You guys are going to help me playtest the scenarios for our June Conquest, which will be our "Farewell to 5th ed." tournament.


Missions:

Seize Ground – there will always be 4 objectives.

Control two more objective than the opponent = major win
Control more objectives = minor win
Control same amount of objectives = draw
Control less objectives = minor loss
Your opponent controls two (or more) objectives compared to you = major loss

Capture and Control

Control both objectives = major win.
Control more objectives = minor win
Control same amount of objectives = draw
Control less objectives = minor loss
Your opponent controls both objectives = major loss

Kill Points

Score 3 more Kill Points (or more) than your opponent = major win
Score more Kill Points = minor win
Score equal Kill Points = draw
Score less Kill Points = minor loss
Your opponent scores 3 more Kill Points (or more) than you = major loss

Wipe Outs:

Completely destroying your opponent does not guarantee full battle points for all objectives. If your opponent is completely wiped out with game turns remaining, you are still allowed to play out the turns in order to claim objectives. Random game length still applies.

The games will be 1850pts. We will be playing the basic rulebook missions above, but with the described ways to break up margins of victory. 3 games total, which is why we're only looking for 8 players.

I just spoke with the owner and I just wanted to be sure that you guys wanted this tournament to be run.

I don't want to force you guys off the tables if you aren't interested in playing in the tournament.

It was presumptuous of me to assume that you'd all be gung ho about participating.

I've been asked me to change the date to Saturday April 21st - firstly, the 28th-29th is a huge Magic release weekend. Secondly, I shouldn't be strong arming anybody into playing in my tournament.

So which day do you guys prefer - Saturday April 21st or Sunday April 22nd?

If you guys would like to take part in this tournament, please tell the owner (John) the next time you stop by. Also, keep in mind space is limited and it is first come first serve. Please pay Chris (Dragomir) to register.

The 23rd is Monday - so you mean you're good for Sunday or Monday, correct?

I think it's safe to say the tourny should only be on weekends. Most of the guys at Legends are of... Working age shall we say, and I don't think you'd be able to get enough people to commit on a workday. Plus, Sunday is usualy the day that people meet at Legends in a larger group.

I'll be looking to set up another qualifier at Heroe's World, a great hobby store in Markham. If you're still interested, I'll keep you guys appraised.
