My only complaint with the Spacewolf is his right pauldron. It might be the light, but it looks like the paint is a bit thick. The rest of the model looks nearly impossibly smooth, so it might just be the black paint itself contrasting with the rest, but it really sticks out in that second pic.

OMG that Typhus is awesome. And just wondering, what's the difference in paint scheme between the existing SW tutorial by you and the 13th Company one? I can see that the 13th Company is darker......

And the sword on the 13th Company mini is just incredible

Agreed on the sword. Is that oil paint? It just reminds me of thunderhammer tut.

Yeah I noticed that. Of coarse AFTER I took the pic but, it was a table top paint job minus the sword.

Thanks! You hit the nail on the head. It IS a darker scheme than the original SW tut I did. But this is a high contrast scheme much like the Angels Encarmine. Deep shadows and highlighting from above with the airbrush. I like the look of this style so much of my up coming scheme will be done this way. The bonus in the 13th Company vid will be how the sword was done. A "version 2" of some of the old videos is planned also such as; Imperial Fists (many want me to show how I did Lysander's armor) and the Blood Angels Vid.

Morgrim wrote:Agreed on the sword. Is that oil paint? It just reminds me of thunderhammer tut.

It was all airbrushed. Thats the only way to get perfect blends like that. I'm trying to show more ways people can use an airbrush at this scale. And the 2 upcoming Valkyrie tutorials should get people really serious about shopping for one.

Thank you! It only took 5 minutes to do, and I'll show it in the video.

I put out a vid a couple days ago dash. Finished up BIGPETES list and working on more. Finals week is this week then I get 3 weeks off to unleash my paint fury! Lol I plan on painting 2 models a day and editing on the weekends during the break.

I look through the list and see if you got some interesting schemes and get em done You saw the list lol. 111 chapters, but I'm getting them done slowly but surely.

Any chance of a tutorial on typhus? or if not that, then at least some info on what paints were used? I'm repainting mine, and I'd love to know how you got him to look that good.

I'd like to second TempusCorvus' thoughts on Typhus! Can I assume that, given your recent love of the airbrush, that the armour is done using one? If so, that may seriously tempt me as it's beautiful.

I second this request Les. My Typhus has been waiting for paint for months now as I experiment on junk-terminators, haven't come to a paint combo I really like.

It's been a While so I figure I'd show you what was in the works. A tri-chapter army of Dark Angels and 2 of it's successors; Guardians of the Covenant (guys in red robes and silver armor) and Angels of Absolution (Dread WIP in back)

And a scratch build that will be in a tutorial soon for all the Green Skinz players.

LBursley wrote:was messing with a tyranid scheme before I head to bed.. 4:22am here.

I like the look of a bone exo with vibrant skin... so I was testing since this is the first tyranid I have ever painted heh.

I'm thinking for the troops of all the armies I'm doing.. It'll be groups of 4-5 in different schemes.

This will maximize my models so I'm not painting 5 the same just to show a scheme.. but rather 5 different schemes.

20% done.. still massive blending, detail work, base... also my tyranids will have saliva!!

Hey, I know I'm quoting an ancient post, but if you like that scheme on Nids' try this one out, I use it for my current army. Inspired by Menelker's Awesomeness.
