So?
Spoiler:
Do you also expect the whatshisname viking dude with the magical horn to be resurrected too because he has a priest of Rr'lhor with him? Seriously, if they did that bringing back to life thing so often, succession in Westeros would surely work quite differently.

What? Do you need for them to sew his head on his wolf's corpse and the other way around to be sure ?

We honestly don't have a clue about Jon Snow.

Spoiler:
Unless there is an explicit sentence in the books that says "And now Jon Snow is dead" it is just not reasonable to assume that he is. There is talk about him blacking out because of some stabby stabby, but nothing saying "he is dead".

If you have been following the show and have been reading the books you should already be aware of all the other instances of

A) People are not dead simply because it seems that they are (The Mountain, The Hound)
B) People that have been dead who are no longer dead (Lady Stoneheart, Red Priests everywhere, the Drowned God doing his thing)
C) People who can warg who are "dead" but are still alive and even have POV chapters after they died.
D) Plus the whole nothing in the books actually saying he died yet.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So why did you kill Jon Snow?
GEORGE R.R. MARTIN: Oh, you think he’s dead, do you?

and post DwD:

GRRM in interview with io9:
Some major characters — yes, I always had plans, what Tyrion's arc was gonna be through this, what Arya's arc was gonna be through this, what Jon Snow's arc is gonna be. I knew what the principal deaths were gonna be, and when they were coming. That would be the closest thing.

Brienne's already confirmed alive.

I'd bet a DCM that Jon is not dead (meaning dead dead dead. Not coming back, dead).

Tyrion has basically no plot hook attached to him at the moment, so he can survive for some time if he wants to .

This isn't my book. I can do that in my book because I am pyschotic and I like killing all the characters who are too likable.

Martin can't do that because he has to maintain a fan base.
Spoiler:

He knows he can't kill certain character.

Jamie
Brienne
Tyrion
Jon
Cersi
Bran
Arya

Until the end of the book series. But he really doesn't want to kill children from the stark family because there are so few of them left.

No. I'm sure people said the same thing about Khal Drogo. Eddard Stark. Robb Stark. Catelyn Stark. Oberyn Martell. Jon Snow (apparently dead). The Hound.

GRRM is not shy of killing off popular and unpopular characters, he just takes his time and kills them off when he chooses.

Nice! Deal, then.
Just to clarify, I am not sure he is dead. It just seems the more probable option. If there was any certitude, the bet would miss the thrill .
But yes, I do think the GRRM is devious enough to mislead people in interviews.
I am not taking bets for other users though, because I do not want to pay DCM to half of the forum, but maybe others are willing to bet.

So if he's dead and raised, that's not dead.

Except that time where he got burned, by fire.

Also, you folks are all really convinced that Jon is dead, ey?

Spoiler:
Jon is for all intents and purposes 'dead'.

However, it's pretty clear that he's the true Champion of Light, and when the Watch burn his body, he'll rise again as the reborn Son of Rholler. At which point, Mel will likely flip out...

Are you kidding me? She'll swoon for him.
Spoiler:

All this time she's been banging old, ugly, gruff and harsh Stannis. Gritting her teeth and doing her duty for the Lord of Light as the old geeza bonks her, because Stannis is supposed to be Azor Ahai. And then all of a sudden along comes this young, buff, sexy teenager who proves beyond all reasonable doubt that HE is Azor Ahai.

If you ask me, there's already some chemistry between the two. I'll bet she doesn't think Jon has trouble getting it up, unlike Stannis (<refuses sex> "Your fire burns low my King").

Calling it now, Melisandre will play the role of Nyssa Nyssa.

Spoiler:
Well, it's more likely she'll flip her gak because she's put too much effort into making Stannis believe he's the true Azor Azhai. He's not going to be very happy when he finds out that Mel's gakked it up and that he's not the one the prophecy foretold...

Between the story of the true Lightbringer as told by Davos' pirate buddy Salador from early on ACoK's, and Mel seeing Jon appear in her fires instead of Stannis, (despite her best efforts to try and make it appear to be Stannis!), it's about as cemented as it can be that Jon is not dead and will become the reborn Azor Azhai.

As for the Mountain...
Spoiler:
He's most definitely dead, since the Lannisters sent his head to Dorn in order to try and appease them over their Prince's death.

And as for who lives...
Spoiler:
No one will in the end!
Martin has mentioned that he's got the last chapter written. In it, there is a massive cemetery and he simply hasn't decided yet if it's going to be a blizzard or a sandstorm blowing over the graves.

Well...

Spoiler:
They send a giant skull, not exactly a head. So it could have been any giant skull since it has no face on it.

Ser Strong is hinted to be the mountain, even more so in the show than in the books. So the Mountain is not dead either.

He never takes of his helmet though, which could be for two reasons: he either has no head anymore (and it was his skull after all), or they don't want anybody to know that it is the mountain.
