Olenna Redwyne(Or Tyrell)
When the wedding is happening, the priest says something along the lines "If anyone thinks these two should not be wed.....something" It pans to Olenna over the shoulder of Magy, with her the only one in focus. Then when she is talking to Sansa, She mentions how horrible it is to Die at a wedding.

Because this is a Game of Thrones thread, which can be applied to either the show or the first book. If I wanted spoilers about A Song of Ice and Fire, I'd go into a thread about A Song of Ice and Fire.

Well, based on the OP it makes it clear that it is about the TV show, which covers all of ASOIAF. So if you are going to read a thread about a show covering all the books you are going to get spoilers about all the books. That's why there is a spoiler tag in the title. I feel horrible that we forced you to come into the clearly marked spoiler thread and forced you to read all those spoilers, but based on the display of your amazing will power I don't know if a second spoiler warning in a thread that starts out with a spoiler warning would be any more effective in protecting you from your own actions...

Or run into a certain sympathetic necromancer/zombie, and get an enchanted deadhand in return for being sworn to her vengeance from beyond the grave!

I really, really love the way you can sensationally summarize the plots of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Spoiler:
Well last season her brother and mother were killed at a wedding, plus she was saying it within earshot of Joffrey, who may or may not have had a hand in it. So she was probably referring to that.

I know that, but I personally think it is also a form of foreshadowing.

Only because you know she "supposedly" has a part in it. And quite frankly, even us book reader's don't know who REALLY did it, because all we have is Littlefinger's word. Which, you know, is about the most trustworthy word in the kingdom....

I thought the show made it pretty clear that Olenna Tyrell did it, and I thought it was a little more ambiguous in the books.

I didn't know the actor who played Ilyn Payne had died (he released an album a month ago and is definitely dying, but I don't think he actually has yet). Bronn is a way better replacement though. I suppose this means he won't disappear in the show the way he eventually did in the books. That's a good thing, as they say.

When the title of the thread has [SPOILERS] right in it, I personally don't feel the need for spoiler tags.

There's an interview here where Jack Gleeson talks about his post-Thrones plans.

It's so ambiguous in the books it's not known.

They probably focussed on Olenna in the series because they know it's not her (they know all of the overarching plot points until the end, in case George doesn't finish the books before they finish the series). By focussing on Olenna, they can set up a fun twist when you find out who actually did it.

It's implied as clearly as most things in the book, with the same lack of actual confirmation as usual.

All the clues that point in her direction in the books were present in the episode thought.

I'd love to see a spinoff of just Arya and The Hound, wandering the countryside, murdering people.

I dunno, Martin himself has more or less verified it, imo.

Martin: Who kills Joffrey?

Rolling Stone: That killing apparently happens early in this fourth season. The Song of Ice and Fire books, of course, are well past the poisoning of King Joffrey.

Martin: In the books — and I make no promises, because I have two more books to write, and I may have more surprises to reveal — the conclusion that the careful reader draws is that Joffrey was killed by the Queen of Thorns, using poison from Sansa’s hair net, so that if anyone actually did think it was poison, then Sansa would be blamed for it. Sansa had certainly good reason for it.

The reason I bring this up is because I think that’s an interesting question of redemption. That’s more like killing Hitler. Does the Queen of Thorns need redemption? Did the Queen of Thorns kill Hitler, or did she murder a 13-year-old boy? Or both? She certainly had good reasons to remove Joffrey. Everything she’d heard about him, he was wildly unstable, and he was about to marry her beloved granddaughter. The Queen of Thorns had studied Joffrey well enough that she knew that at some point he would get bored with Margaery, and Margaery would be maltreated, the same way that Sansa had been. Whereas if she removed him then her granddaughter might still get the crown but without all of the danger. So is that a case where the end justifies the means? I don’t know. That’s what I want the reader or viewer to wrestle with, and to debate.

I have a feeling we are going to see a bit more Bronn in the books, he was still heavily involved up until the downfall of Cersei. Tyrion needs a catspaw especially with the return of the gryphon. I'm expecting Bronn to be front and center next book. Less bloody Bran (he's as tasteless as a breakfast cereal made from his namesake) more Tyrion and associated catspaw! Also more Arya, man the casting director who selected her did a good job.

More Bronn is always welcome.

If anyone missed it, you can actually see Olenna palm the crystalized Strangler that Sansa unwittingly smuggled in. (some light NSFW language)

Wut? Lies! Slander! I didn't say that. You really need to be a little more careful when editing your quote chains, d-usa.

The two are closely linked and any discussion of one will easily involve discussion of the other. That's why I didn't make this a TV or Book thread. Also, many people (incorrectly) use "Game of Thrones" to describe the book series, too.

the KIng and eat all the chickens.

Although that being said I'm going to miss the character I so loved to hate. Was told by a friend that George R.R. Martin wrote Jack Gleeson a letter saying something to the effect of "everyone hates you. Keep it up." Props from the Father Creator is always good. I knew ahead of time what was happening but still lots of fun to see. That color Joffery turned made me think of Walking Dead.

Had some theories on who would off the King
Spoiler:
Early On:
Cercei - Realizes what a monster her son is and decide it must be done.
Tywin - Gets tired of Joffery's shenanigans and takes action.

Now:
Oberyn Martell - Said Lanisters aren't the only ones who pay their debts. Maybe put something in the cake but now thinking got something into the wine.
Olenna Tyrell - Heard what a monster Joffery and decided to eliminate him. I've read other comments saying there was something in Sansa's necklace that was put into the wine.

So....I've watched the "scene" with The Queen of Thornes about 6 times now, and while there are clues there that she may have something to do with it, if you're not already suspicious, its certainly not obvious. Her conversation with Sansa is entirely motherly and the contact she has with her is similar.

I do believe after this season Bronn be out of the picture when he becomes Knighted and lands a Noble wife. It wasn't Tyrion to offer that deal to him.

Which makes him an easy character for the show to adjust into someone elses place. Note the Hound is still out and about and wasn't he supposed to have taken his head wound at the Twins?

Basically, since the show knows the endings and major plot ponits, they can fix Martins version of story telling....which got downright horrible after book 3.
