I see they're selling the Tyranid terrain separately. I hope I didn't waste money buying it off eBay!

I’m not adverse to picking up either of the KTs, or even more basic warriors. But as even if I did play KT it would be someplace with terrain, not at home where I needed to furnish the table, the inclusion bumps the price up out of my impulse buy range, even with the FOMO.

£155 is too much for me.

I like the Necron terrain, but at the same time I know that I will have little or no reason to use Necron themed walls in my future gaming life

For me it's more for the solo play, so knowing its a 3 part-er and thats possibly £465 of boxes over 9 months, that's painful.

If it landed at the £125 mark I'd have snapped it up.

That's fairly unlikely to be the case as they don't put this much terrain into KT boxes very often. From the last season only Hivestorm was over £100 and the preview video for Shadowhunt showed a smaller box that seems to just have two teams on the back (without Nightbringer), and little to no terrain.

My expectation is that box #2 will be similar, as it'll be released alongside this Necron kill zone terrain as a separate purchase.

Ouch on the price, but might be partially explained by the fact it doubles up on the Deathwatch - full 3 medium sprues per set of 5 and you get 10 in the box.

Nice (though, I think, unusual for GW?) to have a complete digital view of the sprues as part of the preview. Plus a lamenters shoulder pad!!

Hard to say, I'm using into the dark as a yardstick and they all had alternate walls ans gubbins iirc?

I collect both armies for 40k and even for me that price is just too much. Kind of silly that it's more expensive than an edition launch box or 40k army boxes, IMO.

The fact there's a fully sculpted Lamenters shoulder pad is bringing tears of joy.

My sweet sad guys finally getting the recognition they deserve.

You can always flog the terrain to someone that wants that and not the teams. Must be plenty of people that'd want to build a full Necron complex.

Not a bad idea for people more in-tune with ebay/marketplace/etc. Which is not me. Plus how much of the box cost is the terrain and cardstock? What could you expect to recoup?

Better off waiting for the kits to show up as individual releases and pick them up from places with a discount.

Necrons were my first army, so I’m all in on this one. Building a tomb-world themed table will be great. I have a bundle of Necron doors and doohickeys from that old KT box which introduced the plastic Flayed Ones. That was an odd release, but I managed to grab the Necron board and terrain on eBay for a bargain. Nabbed the flayed ones from the hachette part work release, which was the only way to get them at a sane price.

But, it’s going to be an expensive month, as I managed to pick up a Typhon box, and loved the Tyranid terrain. So, I’m keen to grab a second set of the Typhon terrain, for a full Tyranid table. Yup, Nids were my second army.

Am loving the Xenos terrain GW are bashing out these days. Keep it coming!

Despite having both Deathwatch and Necrons, and looking forward to this box, the $250 is too expensive. And one gets less than in Hivestorm which was a launch box.

What are they going to do with the old Necron stuff? Are they going to be phased out?

I know GW isn't cheap, it's a niche hobby. But these boxes are really pushing the limit of an entry point or sustainability for a game surely?

If you only play killteam? Sure. If you only play pvp matched play without caring for the maps, fine. But the second you want to use any of their created content as intended, you need a stack of killteam splash boxes built off prescriptive terrain items.

I'm maybe moaning into the void but typhon scared me off because all the good looking pve content was dependant upon having volkus due to fixed maps. They don't readily sell or offer the rules content outside of the boxes.

There are ways around some of this, I know this and it won't bother everyone. But it just feels like they've tried so hard to lock into an Apple style product culture, where youre forced to crave for the next item in the series and frankly tough luck if you didn't follow it to that point.

Lol, it's Deathwatch lads, let's price this about the same as Leviathan and see who bites.

I've genuinely lost count of the times I've read this sentiment over the years. They keep on pushing, and people keep on buying.

I'm in the same boat- I didn't NEED Necron terrain, and had this box not been released. I'd never have asked for it, or gone seeking it.

However:

I always LOVED the Pariah setting, because it specifically uses Draxus, Deathwatch and Sisters- and all of them are favourites for me. Boarding Action scale 40k is also my current favourite game size, and you know, it DOES get dull using the same Gallowdark board again and again and again. "This time, it's a chaos ship... Honest!"

And finally, I REALLY REALLY want to encourage GW to continue making Xenos Terrain, and I gotta do that with my wallet. Maybe next season we'll see Commorragh Terrain... A dude can hope, right?

Exactly- for those of you who want both teams, remember you'll be buying thre kits to get them. In CAD, this is realistically $280; but JUST THE KILL TEAMS will be $240, so why WOULDN'T I pay the extra $40 for the mission book, the terrain and an extra unit of Crons, especially when I don't have any Crons yet?

Also, if I get this box, it frees me up to make the rest of my purchases this season KT only. I don't think Raptors and Warp Talons can go EC, so even if they were the best models I'd ever seen, using them in game would be even more challenging than finding a way to use the Crons, who will probably be ubiquitous NPOs until I get around to adding a few units to diversify the force.

My only issue is that the Drukhari Combat Patrol is now Sold Out online on the Canadian site, and I never picked one up- I've get a Drukhari force with no Raiders. I also have Drazar and a mere five Incubi, and I want at least ten of them... And truth be told, I'd prefer fifteen. SO I gotta get that box before it disappears forever- that's getting close to $500 in the span of a week. Not great. It'll be my hobby budget for the foreseeable future.

The scorpions and scouts both came out in boxes of 10, surprising people who were all saying similar.

I just ordered boarding actions terrain set for kt and boarding actions and now there is this nice looking necrons terrain.. GW just suck my money.

What's the chances GWS muck this pre-order up like they did for Typhon KT and not have enough for genuine player and the scalpers?

Thats a blow for me.
I do love the Lamenters shoulder pad on the new sprue, getting those from bits sellers will be a nightmare. GW really should do upgrade sprues for more marine chapters.

The upgrade sprues for the current chapters arent even really adequate.

Want Salamamders, Imperial Fists, or Iron Hands terminators?

No.

How about Raven Guard, White Scars, or Ultramarines phobos marines?

Also no.

They should really focus on rounding out the upgrades for what they already offer before they support new chapters.

I mean obviously the idea for the KT is to provide some fun unusual chapters because of how the Deathwatch work.

As for everyone else, crack on with your freehanding!

Use decals? Upgrade sprues aren’t essential.

IMO looks weird if only some of your dudes have sculpted shpulders and the rest dont
