I love the concept, and the models all look fantastic. I've always wondered why we never saw Khorne Orks, and you have done a great job not just of modelling them, but explaining how they came to be. I'll definitely be watching this thread!

EDIT: Also, this made me laugh:

Wow thank guys, i really appreciate the comments!

@Scotty - Honestly you just gotta try it cause that's how you get better and make cooler models than what you normally thought you could do. I totally thought that my last nob had like an 90% chance to be crap but i already now feel way more comfortable doing huge sections of all sculpting. Dive in!

@P4NC4K3 - Oh those are coming hehe, maybe not the Stompa for quite some time but i have some plans for the Deff Dreads once i get some more sparky bits and riches.

Really nice stuff you've got going there. I can't imagine Khorne being happier than having a bunch of Orks working for him... so, right off the bat, the theme is pretty brilliant.

Add in some excellent sculpting, converting, and a great paint job (especially with the new scheme) and... well, I guess you've got Da WAAAAGH Eaters.

Keep up the great work; I can't wait to see what's next.

First, thanks gitsmack i really have enjoyed your stuff so your praise means a lot!

Second, I had intended to post pics of more painted boyz but im unhappy with the result. I think i used too many variables and it takes away from the cohesiveness. I used 3 shades of brown for all the clothes to mix things up as well as switching the red armor with brass in certain places. I can still post them later tonight or tomorrow if you want to see what i mean but if not ill just work on fixing them then posting the fixed shots.

Update:

Rethinking the project i have decided that to make it more in line with the fluff and look/feel of the army im going to be running my army as a CSM list. The idea being that i can forget about making 120 boys and concentrate on making 20-some to the size and standard of my last Nob. Most of the ideas and work already finished translates well anyways and i think this direction will make for a really striking army.

Thoughts?

1. I want pictures to see what they look like.

2. I reckon running them as chaos is a bad idea - the fluff doesn't support it, and since when have orks deserved a 3+ (I think) save!

92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment

Ok so my first model since the new direction. I decided that my big guys needed bunny ear representation so viola:

He's got a lot of cleanup to do as well as a banner and gap fills but you get the idea. His size is consistent with my other Nobs (now Berserkas') so thats not an issue. I am in the process of re-basing my existing Nobs to the standard infantry bases for gameplay reasons.

Not the most involved conversion i have ever done but i wanted to pay homage to the first Waagh Eada Boy i ever made (see 1st page).

In case your wondering...

Yes that is my blood...
Yes i anoint my minis if i happen to slip...
No, no one has ever questioned my devotion to the hobby...

Alrighty, sorry for the delay but i was out of the country on a pilgrimage to GW mecca for a while! Ok so that wasnt the reason but whatever, heres what came for me in the mean time:

Its hard to make a really cool dynamic khornate dread without too thoroughly ripping off Hellblade but this is my attempt (with a heaping amount of homage and respect to Vincent Hudon and his crazy robot )

Frontal shot of my new Dreadnought:

Side:

A better idea of the positioning:

A mock up with the base:

Underside (treads):

The upper chassis has two of the clawed mark IV arms and im planning on a wide armed stance, half of a taunt half about to crush something sort of pose. The base is cork and snow terrain which through testing can be painted to look amazing as desert sand. I plan on creating a banner for him and trying some freehand and it will be thoroughly orkified!

Hope you good people didn't forget me!

EDIT: That second pic has a good example of that bleeding on minis thread in the discussion forum. Freaking resin...

Wow, this is turning out to be a great project! Glad to see you are dedicated, and keep working at it! I like the theme, no matter what fluffy reason you have for making it, it still totally rocks with AWESOMENESS!
