Lovin the Dread', but the highlights on the SM is a little to dramatic and extreme, no offence

Hey thanks for the imput guys, i agree with the needing of some black wash have to buy some of ebay soon. i like the high lights makes the black look less plain

My thoughts on the highlights would be to try a 50/50 blend of grey (highlight) and black (base) as an intermediate highlight that lines all the edges. Then try a 75/25 blend of grey and black on the most extreme edges and a final pure grey highlight on the corners where the extreme edges meet to create light spots. That way the highlights will be more subtle and achieve a more natural look.

Hhere's a few more. This is slow work in progress. I'm taking my time with them. This is the first time I have painted an army.

well played my first game today against a 1500pt eldar army and i copped a beating 1200 to 500 maily due to bad rolling. CM did superb faced off against 1 avatar howling banshees and dire avengers got 3 wounds against the avatar and took down 4 dires and 2 howlees
tac did misirible. scouts worked a treat kept the wraith lord busy dread also did his work. next time will use rhinos for tac and vanguard squads also will remove expensive CC weapons from dev sgt. PS auto cannons and hvy bolters kick ass

Try daylight BULBS,I'm not entirely sure where you can get them though, their usually blue.

use a blck wash on those highlights on yor preadator andit will dull them downeverything is looking great

Hmmmm well i feel sick now i have just totaled up the money spent on a ten man vanguard/ vetran squad im custom building from a vast kit bash. $120 AUD omg could have got my forge world land raider. i have amassed i stock pile of heresy studded shoulder pads, inquisitor shoulder pads, MK8 torsos, 10 black templar helmets, a plethora of plasma pistols, power fists, hammers, chain saws and numerous other CC weapons. these guys are gonna kick ass.

to dull down the highlights a bit and to go over some of the gold and other detail

Then there are the supplements space hulk, epic, gorkamorka and that madness known as apoc. Damn I could have bought a new car.

@ the ppredator : I think the "wires" coming out of the gun(s) should be red and yelllow , or red and green , i dont like them as they are right now .. to shroomie like
