Hmmm good point indeed my wifes making me wait till friday next week to buy my redeemer lol, im playing at a gaming club for the first time tomorrow, i was invited along and will be going up against some necrons so i will let you know if the 500 points was worth it lol

It's gonna be hard to use them... they need to be able to get into cc quick or they will get cut up.. and unfortunately i dont think a rhino is going to do that for lots of reasons.

Hmmm yes there short falls are now obveous but they do look really cool and if they do get into CC quck they will feth gak up

Ya I personally have a squad of 5 with jump packs lightning claws and storm shields they are fun to mess around with.

From one non-power gamer to another, cheers on going with what suits your fancy over build optimization. Sure, you might lose a bunch of points to a demolisher cannon. It happens, it has happened to my Space Wolves more times than I care to think about.

For a paint critique: Your helms' visor sockets are rather bland compared to the metallic and highlit armor. The solid slabs of color don't read right. Do you have a good spotter brush to go in there and blend and highlight the eyes? I have a pair of American Painter 4650 5/0 spotters with almost needle-fine brush tips. A streak of thinned yellow or mixed yellow-green, or perhaps blue, along the lower part of the eye combined with a little white spot to simulate light would really bring more life to your figures.

Other than that, however, I like the gold on black theme you have going. You have a good solid layer of paint on your tanks too. I have to brush my tanks, and no matter how hard I work at them there is alwasy some part that is too thin or too thick. Airbrushes ftw, I wish the scheme allowed them.

Hey thank you so much darkreaver for your critiqe hmmm i do have a very fine brush i might practice on a spare helm first see how it goes. And yes i would much rather go with a army i have picked because of caracter rather than whats good for tactics points etc

From my own experience: Use a magnifier of some kind, head or table mounted, if you have never done it before. I wound up getting orange all over a bunch of helms, and had to mix up the base, second coat, and highlight paints all over again to repaint them. And, in a couple of cases (Crusade helms I think, the ones with thinner eye sockets) I got gray into the eyes again and had to do those again too! ARGH! It's a pain, but it is worth every minute. Once you have that down, you can do eyes and teeth on your helmless ones as well with no problem. The little touches like that really bring the army to life.

I also recommend that you throw a wash or two of Badab Black over the whole model(exept the thunderhammer) to blend the highlight to the black !

Well went to a wargaming club today, was very cool setup. PLayed a 1750 point annialation game against IG. well i won 7-1 yay. took out all his armour 1 valkry 1 hellhound 1 demolisher 1 leman 1 chimera and i ton of grunts. Damn his basilisk was annoying. i lost 1 dev sqd, 3 termies 2 van 5 tac and he immob 1 rhino and a dread so overall im happy. fingers crossed i get the time off from work. theres a tournement on in 2 weeks 1750 points. im thiknig of putting vanguard in a drop pod . please look at my army list and tell me what you think and give some advise on a solid 1750 pts cheers

Here is what i have in mind for campaign its roughly 1750 maybe slightly under. pretty much what i played with tofay except Van Sqd is in a drop pod and the (AP)devestators are in a rhino. ( note to self must remember terminators deep strike)

Why are your devs in a rhino?
that looses you two turns of shooting if you want to move them put them in a razorback with like weapons say heavy bolters and can screen the squad the turn they jump out.

Hmmmm well at the moment i dont have a land raider or a razor back and im points limited, only 1 dev is in a rhino its just to move them into a better posy but yeah i see what you mean about losing them for a turn or 2

Yeah will be adding a chaplain dread to the list. Just found out i cant get the time off for the comp so so upset would have been good, o well next time i guess. soon ill be pusing 2500pts dont think to many people will wanna game that size at the club. im thinking of starting a fantasy army as well possibly dark elves or empire

Hey thank i originaly had missiles with the las cannons but got flamed by someone in the lists forum for it

Chicken I don't call them "miss"iles I call them rockets.

The problem with devastators is that you have the two best armor killing weapons the lascannon and the multimelta and they don't play well together the las is long range and the melta short.
So you shoot short and you loose the utility of the las's range you shoot long and the melta can't reach.
The rest are just infantry killers except for the rocket that has two fire modes one for infantry one for light to medium tanks.
So my anti infantry devs are plasma cannon heavy bolter.
Anti tank are ether all multis or las rocket depending on the army.

Yeah thats my setup as well i think ill just stick with it.
atm im just grinding out painting, hopefully fingers crossed im finished by sunday.
