Here are some pics of the general. I have not decided what to do with his cloak, I want to put some design on it and maybe a different color. We will see, I can take some time to think about it. Any ideas let me know.

From Wikipedia: "Tim Hortons commands 76% of the Canadian market for baked goods (based on the number of customers served) and holds 62% of the Canadian coffee market (compared to Starbucks, in the number two position, at 7%)."

Now that's an EMPIRE! GW can only dream about that share of its target market.

Just out of curiosity, are the coffee and baked goods any good?

Any good? Any good!?

Questioning the quality of Tim Hortons foods and beverages is sheer heresy!

As a Canadian and a fellow IG enthusiast (though still very new), I can say only that I am very impressed. The colour scheme actually works very well on its own, and the theme that it's taken on makes it all the better! Really cool stuff, plenty of creativity.

And yes, Tim's is a national institution, now back to being a Canadian business after widespread outcry from the populace (also apparently for reasons of taxation)!

Kindly avoid panic. Though entertaining, this is rarely helpful.

Actually, I love a good cup of coffee, and Tim Hortons' is pretty ass. It's bitter and disgusting, but for some reason people can't get enough of it. Their baked goodies are delicious though!

And at risk of being on topic, I'm liking this general. Now I've gotta go back and check the other four pages of this blog.

Your Tim's must be bad then. Maybe they pee in the coffee?

The Tim's stores here make amazing coffee. And I would know. I drink a ing tonne of the stuff

Their donuts are pretty good, but they're not as good as fresh-fried. We got a small rival chain here called Donut King & Coffee. Their coffee tastes like what I would assume to be bear testes, but their donuts are so ing great. They mix the batter, roll em', and fry em all in-store. Real oldschool-like.

First let me say that yes, Tim Horton's is delicious.

also thanks for all the great compliments.

Here is the standard bearer and medical officer. I have not decided on a color scheme for the banner yet, and I also want to work some different colors into the medical kit on the guys belt but I need to play around with it. The last picture is the whole command squad.
next up are the bodyguards.

The bodyguards are very impressive. I must have missed something earlier because I wasn't expecting dogs.

Get out of my head. I totally had the dog bodyguard idea a month ago. Was planning on using models for 2 german shepherds I have. Going to try to sculpt some k9 body armor on them with a built in laspistol/lasgun. Perhaps have the gun wired into the dog's heads for targeting.

I mean hell, if the imperium will spend resources to put implants in Ogryn, I see no reason why a regimental commander couldn't make such arrangements for his loyal hounds. Besides, german shepherds are arguably at least twice as intelligent as the average ogryn.

I like the force so far. The paint jobs are solid, the modeling is superb, and it has dog bodygaurds. We're on the road to awesome here.
One thing though. I don't like those necron heads. Right now they look to... necrony. Maybe try cutting off the jaw?

Thanks for the comments everyone! I just put together a hellhound and a third chimera, I will try to get some pics up of the hellhound, it really is a sweet model. The next thing I am going to try and paint will be another infantry squad, but I will be back to work tomorrow so we will see when I can find the time.

Here are a couple pics of the hellhound. I really like the model, it is even cooler than I thought from the picture, the back is pretty awesome. Also the front nozzle just plugs in to change the type of tank, which is very cool. It just needed a little but of sticky tack to hold it in really well. I also started work on the 2nd infantry squad, and here is the progress so far.

I have also been thinking about the commander, and I may make the outside of his cloak white, with some red decal or gilding. I think that will make him stand out even more.

I really want to paint the priest that I put up on the first page or second page, and I can't decide if I should paint black robes with red armour, more like the rest of the force, or red robes with gold armour and really have him stand out.

Any thoughts on the general or priest would be much appreciated.

i think red robes with gold armour, make the priest stand out, you need commissars, priests, etc to stand out because the usually don't come from the same world (commissars definently, not too sure about priests) so yes make him stand out.

The General also IMHO, needs to stand out, ok yes he has to dogs as bodyguards (pure win) but i think that Imperial Guard Officers need to be easy to spot out from the horde of grunts...er i mean guardsmen....
the way i think of the commander/general/whatever rank he is, needs to show off to his troopers, so make him stand out as well.
sorry if i rambled on there.

Problem with colouring Commissars differently (Priests not so much) is that they have a set uniform from the Commissariat as far as the fluff goes. i don't think he'll have any trouble finding them among the bunch though. They do stand out quite a bit just by pose alone.

And he's doing his general with 'smart' in mind. If he looks like the grunts, he's less likely to get shot at by the enemy

I wasn't saying paint any commissars using a different colour scheme, i was using them as an example of sticking out among the horde of guardsmen, i didn't word it properly. sorry, my bad for any confussion. not that im saying the OP needs to add commissar's into the army. it is the OP's choice. i was only using them as an example of people sticking out in the crowd.

And he's doing his general with 'smart' in mind. If he looks like the grunts, he's less likely to get shot at by the enemy

yes i see your point, but he does need some slight difference from the standard guard. not OTT though.

Progressing nicely. The bodyguards are just awesome. Paint/conversions look good.

If your looking for another colour to throw on the infantry anywhere, try yellow. As in the yellow stripe. Oh I'll just admit it dude, I'm missing the yellow stripe, ok? I know it may not work here, but...

Thanks for the comments everyone! I think i will try the general with the white cloak, see how it goes, and the priest with gold armour.

The dogs are from reaper miniatures, called garr wardog, crusaders monster. here is a link to the model on their website, but you can find it other places they sell reaper minis.

http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/dog/sku-down/14208

I totally understand the desire for the yellow stripe, it was hard to resist.
