Your army looks fantastic. I never realised just how important banners are for the Imperial Guard until I saw that image.

You've pretty much persuaded me to get a some Engineers...absolutely gorgeous models and the paint job is great.

(edit) By the way how easy would it be to replace a few of those shots guns with melta guns? (I'd probably use them as a veteran squad).

Thank you

Peter

OK that is the last straw! I am buying myself some Death Korps, how could you take that last picture and not make everyone who looks at it instantly want to get some? Great work!

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. A great job to great miniatures. There are a fair few DKoK miniatures around these days, but yours are the best I've seen. Great work, keep it up.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Abso-frakkin'-lutely awesome army you have there! I speak with everyone else when I say that group shot is really great, and does, in my opinion, really give an idea of a Krieg force should look like, especially with the muddied up bases to give them some ground under their feet.

Continue to build this force and you will go far. -Kaesar II

Yeah, I could use some more. I want to convert at least one of the running guys to hold a banner with both hands, running forward.

PDH wrote:

Very easy. The Weapon Upgrade Set would work. All the arms would be interchangeable in the complete army - with some small exceptions.
But the shoulder pads might not fit style-wise.

Oh, nooo. Shouldn't take any more pics or the blogs will be flooded with copies of my army ... just kidding

Calibanite Lion wrote:army shot looks great, you should do a photoshop with some background images

That was the idea. Just wait for it.
Though I'd need some more guys and bigger weapons for the really impressive shots.

Buuuut ... I'm working on that.

The Hades is still not 100% done, but since I took some pics, I thought I'd share them.

Still not sure about the blades. I kept them relatively clean. They'd rotate fast so there wouldn't be much mud.
And on the rest of the Hades it's nearly too much mud.
Needs some work on the control panel and some exhaust dirt.

It uses the large blast template when it appears!
The rules are in the Siege Regiment Army List Update PDF on ForgeWorld.

The drill appears in round 2 and the engineers in round 3.

Lovely. Looks as if it were actually in the field. Are you going to must make game peices or are you gonna use them as set peices.

I love the Death Korps, and you have done them justice. Fantastic work, I wish I could paint as well as you!

That black on the commisar is just primer, you say? Wow... there really isn't any varnish or anything adding that shine? What is this "CB Primer" you use then- I assume the CB doesn't stand for Chaos Black, since my GW spray gives a finish nothing like as nice as that! I found "Chassis Black" primer from Eastwood on google, is that the one?

This makes me want to start a blog about repainting my old Tallarn army... I've just finished the first squad... hmm

No, it's Chaos Black Primer, sorry. You really have to shake the bottle. And try to spray from a distance. But I know the problem. My current, new bottle gave me a shiny finish, too. :( Guess I had luck.

@ LeBaron:
"must make game peices or are you gonna use them as set peices."
Don't know if I understand this right? You ask if these are for gaming or just show?

Well, I do try to play a game from time to time.

Soooo ...

I had a lot to do - and I still have a lot to do. I was / am busy making some money ... (to spend it on FW ...).

But today I started building the Centaur, so the grenadiers will be ready soon.
I'm not very motivated, though. But I hope this will get better with the progress.

Here are some WIP pics:

I know, the paintjob on the outside is crap. Here's my secret: It's ALLWAYS crap! And I don't mind ... - I'll muddy it up afterwards anyway. The green is just the basic tone underneath all the mud.

On the inside I tried some scratches and wear. I'm not satisfied yet, though. Again: Parts of the inside will be muddy / dirty, too.

I had some problems with the Wash, too.

The work on the Centaur is now stopped until I can get new washes / paint.

how did you weather the mud onto the guys legs. Do you just paint on with weathering powder?

I drybrush them. I use a puddle of Scorched Brown and Bestial Brown and let both touch in the middle. I dip the brush in and so I get a mix of both in the middle and each brown on the sides.

I'll get the powders next time I order new models from FW.

But I won't use them for the mud / dirt because I don't want to change the method.

@ Vitruvian: thx - but it's not even finished yet.

idk if I understand you, sorry. Set pieces = show pieces?
As I said before, they are a little bit of both.

I finished the mud on the Centaur today, but it's still missing the gunner and the grenadiers.

Thanks, guys. And kevlar'o, just get a few of those and try it. If you give them just a little attention, Death Korps can be painted pretty easily. And with washes it's even easier to achieve good results.

Now with grenadiers. It's really a pain in the a$$ to fit them in there! I will really have to motivate myself to put the minis in there when I order more Centaurs.
