Any dready with a heavy flamer. Dont care if its Vern, Viriso, or whatever.

Ever since dawn of war II came out, my banshee's ALWAYS die to a DS Dread with a heavy flamer, and of course. . . the next unit to fall to it are my Pathfinders (Eldar Super Rangers).

I MUCH prefer to use Markerlights to completely get rid of those pesky coversaves versus my Railguns

With jetbikes they're annoying, amanging to wreck my devilfish and advance on my main line... until they got stuck in a 10-man unit of Fire Warriors for the last turns of the game. My Tau can't shoot for crap, but when it comes to combat...

Combat Losses:
Outflanking dedicated CC SM Scout Squad charges FWs and tears them a new one, taking 1 casualty back.

Combat Draws:
10 FWs holding Jetcouncil + Farseer in combat for the final turns of a game.
1 Crisis Suit holding the Throne of Judgement (SoB SC) in combat until the end of a game.

Combat Wins:
Lone Broadside taking a wound vs the aformentioned CC Scouts. In return, he got mad, smacked two of them around the face with his Smart Missile Systems and sweeping advanced the rest as they fled.
6 Fire Warriors getting jumped by a Lictor and proceeding to beat it to death with pulse rifles, taking only 1 casualty.
10 Fire Warriors (same game as the jet council) taking a direct charge from a unit of Harlies, losing 1 or 2 Fire Warriors and proceeding to beat the clowns to death with pulse rifles.

Combats vs Vehicles:
2 Crisis Suits charge an enemy hammerhead, rip its railgun off and immobilise it in the middle of the board.

I can never take out Terminators. Even if I hit them with Power Weapons they ALWAYS make their Invunerable save. Yet when I play Terminators they drop like grots!

Other one is a line of Tau Broadsides. They do too much damage before I can get close.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

On moon miranda.

(warning, the following spewing rant is fueled by lack of sleep and diet 7-up)

There isn't really anything I *fear* per se, but a lot of units that I just think are spank.

I really hate TH/SS termi's. They really are point/click units that take no thought to use and could be 10pts per model more expensive and they'd still be taken just as often as they are now, people would cut other stuff to keep them. Even at 45ppm in the BA book they are no-brainer units. Lysander also fits into this category, mainly because he's a 4W EW version.

Vulkan, I went for a full year seeing nothing but Vulkan led SM armies and literally nothing else. Same problem as TH/SS termi's, significantly undercosted and overcapable while requiring little in the way of thought to use.

Also, TWC's. From the depths of the worst kinds of internet fanfic comes yet another ridiculous deathstar unit whose concept is pants-on-head slowed.

Long Fangs-who thought that 5 BS4 split-fire Missile Launchers for 140pts was a good idea in an army of already hideously undercosted units?

Grey Hunters-CSM's with ATSKNF, Counterattack, free/extremely cheap weapon upgrades (both ranged and CC), cheap as dirt sergeants (yes you need to take WG to get a sergeant, but lets be honest, it's not really a big deal as SW armies generally run WG anyway or aren't using all their elite slots) with the cheapest weapon upgrade options of all the MEQ armies.

Vendetta's- Yeah, I have 3 (yes, I'm a terrible person), but they should be like 30pts more than they are now and HS not FA. At least they are somewhat easy to take down and suck in squadrons, but still...definitely not FA units with 3 TL'd AT guns. Sillyness.

Sentinels - perennially overcosted junk units. They look so cool, and never do anything but die...

Stormtroopers are one of my favorite units visually and fluffwise. I love their concept, look and feel. And they have routinely been some of the worst infantry units in the IG army ever since the dawn of 3rd edition. :(

Deathstrike...what to say about it. It's an ICBM trying to play at being a tactical level cruise missile. Works great as a mission objective (stop it before it fires or your landing zone 200km away goes bye-bye!) but as an actual unit makes no sense on the scale that 40k games are played, none at all.

Mephiston- basically a hideable, flying (most of the time) MC with stats (with psychic powers and wargear) on par with those of the Daemonically ascended Primarch Angron that WD came out with.

Baal Preds- An AV13 heavy battletank in Fast Attack with the Scouts USR for less than 150pts after sponsons? DUMB. This thing should be in HS and should definitely not have Scouts. Why is it that the army that is known for jump packs and close assaults can build the best heavy tank gun wall of any Space Marine army? I've seen BA armies with 8 AV13/14 tanks on the field.

Eldrad- I see this unique Ulthwe historical figure in about 2/3rds of all Eldar armies if not more these days. It's almost as if Eldar have no HQ's but Eldrad and Warlocks, except if running Jetbikes. Give it a rest please.

I had my squad (with lysander) run through a stompa mob. The stompas had 3 rounds of shooting at them (damned mishap). they took 3 casualties and then walked all 3.

because standing up half of my army after you shoot the ever-loving is just awesome

Oh whats that Mr. Demolisher Cannon? You want to ID me? Say hello to my friend Mr. Resurrection Orb

Still though, Necrons arent as mean as they where in previous editions, where a glancing shot still carried the threat of one-shotting a tank. and against any necron player that feilds a monolith, just wipe-out his warriors and everything phases out. Or, in the event he went heavy troops to counter this, your big targets are Necron Lords with Orbs, and Tomb Spyders. . . without these two units your opponents WBB rolls are crippled and he phases out earlier

On that note, i hate playing necrons, cause of that annoying phase out rule.
