Toss up between the mighty Baneblade and the Vendetta/Valkyre. One's a big Gak-Off tank with enough firepower to annihilate entire armies and the other is a big god-damn gunship, providing close air support to the poor infantry, and the mental picture that conjures up just screams awesome.

Really, I have two.

On a personal level, I love hormagaunts. Nothing screams vicious, swarming death like the hormagaunt. By all rights, it should be something terrifying. The thing moves fast down the field, leaping through cover. Even when you kill the synapse creature behind them, they just keep rushing forward. My only issue with them is they don't get flesh hooks (read:frag grenades) anymore, and biomorphs are too expensive compared to the gaunt and gargoyle. The only time I really find it worth it to pick up the fellows is when I've already bought Hive commander.

On a more practical level, Gargoyles are amazing. Cheap, fast, versatile little buggers that you run as a throwaway screen (combined with gaunts, it's almost impossible not to give even your monsterous creatures cover saves), Transport killer (it's hilarious to kill everything inside a chimera by giving them nowhere to disembark), or monsterous creature killer. They can even deep strike and usually move even faster than hormagaunts! The only time I go without them is when I'm starving for points.

It used to be a mutant boss from the eye of terror codex with a powerfist (yes its not a unit... just a charecter within one) but that guy clocked in at 31 points and had 4 S:6 power fist attacks (5 on the charge). His unit was mostly cannon fodder and essentially just got in the way of things but that little guy bagged so many tanks, inquisitors, chaos lords and even a few GKT's he became a model to fear in my little group.

Nowadays i prefer the humble wraithlord. Even just the 1, preferably 2. They may not be that effective as they can go down quite easily but to see that trickle of sweat fall down the brow of your opponent when the lord is about 10" from his raider, on 1 wound, and his last lascannon shot misses...

I love the mandrake fluff. But the unit itself loses out to things like trueborn, grotesques and incubi.
I also have a fond memory of playing my friend's plague marines and pissing him off with feel no pain and a 3+ armour save

Hmm, I'm going to have a toss up between 2. First is Kharn with 7 berserkers (magic 8 number and all), mostly because so long as kharn is attached to a unit, he never actually misses in close combat. Ever. Hit the enemy? Well lets not get picky now.

My second has to be Wazzdakka because being able to turbo-boost and slag a vendetta (or chimera, or predator, or anything that str 8 can get through) is just hilarious and amazing.

I love it when you overkill something. My opponent was once, miraculously, reduced to a single Ork boy. I just decided to use my flamer on it since it was all alone and I had nothing else to shoot.

It survived.

Then a sergeant killed it with one shot from his bolt pistol.

I cant remember but im guessing you pass the test on 10 if you have leadership 10 and since the average is 10.5 half th time its 10 or less and the other half its 11 or more

This unit will stab you in the back with a... DEFFROLLA.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Don't limit Kharn's perfect hit rate to close combat. He also is guaranteed to do damage to someone every time he shoots as well.

I found another great unit. Shrike, a chaplin and 10 terminators with lightining claws. It costs so much but can take down entire armies
