10 Necron pariahs. Not because they are super uber death dealing machines on the table.

Rather the mental image of ten of these guys cutting through ANYTHING they touch. Men, tanks, terminators, and causing fear and psykers to go insane.

Purely fluff and mental image on this one.

hmm, i would have to go with a hive tryant (with reg) add 3 guards and thats one tough unit to crack a ton of wounds to play with and you can reg some plus i like how he looks like he would ear you and your dog for dinner

Sisters of Battle Exorcists. They just capture the Imperium's Gothic feel so well.

10 Sternguard with 5 combi-meltas and a rhino, don't know why but it just sounds fun.

A court has to have one of each choice. So a Lhamaean, a Medusae, an Ur-Ghul, and a Sslyth.

Just played my first game with dark eldar. Given the units I used it would have to be 4 trueborn with 2 blasters and 2 splinter cannons

Thats called a terrain feature

After this weekend I have to add Ymgral Genestealers to my favorite units. On top of being strong as gak, I just love to say "Oh, and they can come out of any piece of terrain on the board, I wonder which one =)".

10 Plague Marines with two Meltaguns and a Plague Champion with a Power Fist. It's the backbone of my army and whether some players think 10 is too much or not shouldn't come into play when you're definitely getting what you paid for.

Either

10 Sternguard in a drop pod all with combi-melta's

OR

7 BT Assault Termies with Lightning claws + marshal with termie armour and LC all in a LRC

thats all i can think of right now. maybe crazy wolf guard termies.

In imaginationland, Shining Spears, hands down. One of the least numerous (ie most elite) Eldar aspects. Essentially future knights on one-man aircraft, with lances (that shoot lasers).
Unfortunately both the models and rules are lacking a little something - they're not top on the field, and while it's a very cool idea (tilting armour! awesome!), the models are a rather static looking set of metal-plastic hybrids. Here's hoping that when a new codex eventually comes round, the shining spears benefit from a new jetbike model, and are enthroned as the baddest, coolest, deadliest close combat shock troops in the game.
This possibility, if it comes to pass, will immediately mean that everyone takes shining spears and I will look like a bit of a tool.

Favorite assault unit: 10 Hekatrix Bloodbrides with Syren and Agoniser and 3 Hydra Gauntlets. At max, 5 4+ PW attacks and 54 regular attacks on the charge, +1 Attack combat drug means 6 4+ PW attacks, 64 regular on the charge!!!

Favorite shooty unit: 9 man Kabalite Trueborn squad with 2 Splinter Cannons and 7 shardcarbines in a Raider with Duke Sliscus..... lots and lots of 3+/3+ poison hurting things!!!!

Fast, armoured, deadly at range and up close. If it can't blast the wall down with its seige cannon it'll tear it down with its claws. BRING IT DOWN!!

I would have to vote Calgar becuase that guy is a the definition of a Movie Marine, With all re rolles to both wound and hit wth both shooting attacks and and melle attacks is just amazing.
He has 2!, count em, 2 POWR FISTS! with AP 2 boltguns. Makes it so you never have to make 1 morale check. Terminator Armour and an Iron Halo. Eternal Warrior and stats like a moster. Not to mention you can take up to 3 squads of freaking honour guard! He is a monster on the feild!
