But It would Be awesome if we all had it but i would convert the wings because face it they look rediculous

We still have no confirmation that they are going to be accessible for all Chapters though do we?

Although it would make business sense and we kind of expect it from GW, we still have nothing solid to go by that it will be released for all Chapters do we?

We have confirmation that the February White Dwarf doesn't allow other chapters to, but that might change in march.

I suspect that C: SM and C: DA (MAYBE) will get it, but C: BT, C: CSM, and C: SW will not. Simply because Chaos never gets anything, SW already have their feature unit, TWC, and Black Templar not getting it is just a hunch.

Then again, I'm likely completly off, and incorrrect on all assumptions (except for CSM of course).

IMO the best use of the Stormraven is a BA dreadnought delivery system. Dreads with Talons, especially DC dreads, can tear through units big or small once delivered. The key is getting there and the Stormraven helps facilitate that like no other. Even if the other SM chapters could get access to one, they don't have the dread assault power the BA have to take full advantage of delivering the dread in the first place. If you just wanted an assault vehicle to deliver troops or termies, then the LR is better. The SR outshines the LR in it's dreadnought delivery capabilities.

Chaos needs something, but this isn't it. Really. This would only be a stopgap measure, like duct-taping a chest wound and not going to the hospital.

I would actually want to take a chaos dreadnought. With them as unpredictable as they are. The storm raven would actually mitigate (somewhat) the crap where they shoot your own guys and all. I read about the crazed rule and said "Pfft, guess GW just saved me from buying a dreadnought and having to convert it to chaos"

Why do I get the feeling, Killkrazy, your not entirely appreciating the genius behind all this.

Sometimes the simpler the strategy the better, there is not always a good reason to complicate thing.

True but they don't always do what is smart and will make them the most money. Every now and then the counter-intuitive GW rears it's ugly head and we are left scratching our heads.

I'm guessing that GW may try to tempt people to start an ENTIRE NEW ARMY in order to get access to the STORMRAVEN.

In other words, better go buy a BA or, even better, a GK force so you can use the new shiny!

Then, when 6th Edition rolls around, all SM chapters will have access.

It makes sense for loyalist Marines to get it down the line, but thinking Chaos would is completely ridiculous. Chaos doesn't even have landspeeders or drop pods, things that have been around since the Heresy. Stormravens are more recent in the fluff, if I'm not mistaken?

Man, for the first time in... well.. ever, I get a plastic kit with GK/=I= symbols and already all the SM crybabies want it. Where were my 3++ SS (heck, we're the last marines not to have them, even post-FAQ!)? My assault 4 rending assault cannons? My... well everything that SM have?

I KNOW it makes perfect business sense for GW to give SR to every marine/CSM player out there, but keep your hands off my toys.

I would actually like to see stormravens in all chapters. Imperial guards get fliers, maybe we're seeing fliers becoming more common and available, adding a new twist to the game.

I'll stop thinking of it as the Chibi-hawk if they make a Chaos spikey version. Then it will be the PUFFER FISH OF DOOM!!!one!!!1

If rules for the Storm Raven are not made for all SM chapters... I won't buy one. Except if they make a good Grey Knights codex all in plastic... and for good I mean not cheesy. I know I'm dreaming... and pretty hard also.

basically... why do they have to waste money on making a thing like that... wich costs € 52,00= only for one or two armies ? I mean... Space Marines are the most sold in GW, if they don't do a thing like this they are crazy!

It's like the Land Raider Crusader, made for the Black Templars, then everyone wanted one and they had it... first with White Dwarf rules 0-1 then in the new codex... everyone could get it.

Furthermore, some might want it because of the rules. It is possible to proxy a Stormraven with something else.
