I'll say the same thing as what I said on HO:

I can't help but be annoyed at this "I wanna have it" mentality. BA (and now GKs) have been waiting for an update for ages. Now, we'll have something others don't, but the main reaction (apart from the "it looks like gak" reaction) is "me too, me too!".

I don't mind not having access to Land Speeders or Whirlwinds in my GKs. I don't want "Grey Cavalry" and although we'll possibly have all-termi armies, I don't want bikes (and all-bikes armies).

I know it's logical for GW to allow the SR for all (even though a similar kit, the Valkyrie, is only for one army). I'm just being childish; I haven't had a codice in 8+ years, no 3++ Storm Shield, no Heavy 4 rending Assault cannons, so I don't want to share.

It would make sense to give the stormraven (in a financial sense) to every chapter. I don't think there are enough blood angel players, alone, willing to buy such an ugly pregnant-goldfish-flyer.

Riddle me this: what has four sides, moves twelve inches, and moved fourteen?

And that's why it's also going to be available to the Grey Knights. Probably will be, later on, shoehorned in as an assault craft for the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers too.

That's three forces right there. Not just Blood Angels players.

I feel bad for all the other Space Marine folk. Now their chapters have that thing canonically rammed into their launch bays. Just imagine poor Calgar's face as he wakes up one day to find a dozen blue Stormpelicans staring at him from the foot of his bed.

Keep it away from Codex Chaos Space Marines please. We can have something like jetbikes for our special flying unit. Anything to spare the Raven.

Someone was kind enough to post these pictures on the BoLS Lounge. I'm liking this model more and more as I get to see more of it. It looks pretty good to me now that you can get an unobstructed view. I hope I can paint one for my Spears Of Ares as well as Grey Knights.

That is how you present a new model! I already kinda liked it to be honest and figured that the weirdness was due to the angle. This just proves it for me. Especially the the pictures of it from the back sides. Only thing I'll probably do is change the turret to a razorback turret as I don't like the domed turret look.

Rather than make some crappy expansion like spearhead, I would hope they just fix the whole "skimmer-flyer" thing. Expand the rules, write an faq and errata. Make it so anything with the new valk flying base utilize the new expanded rules.

A few fixes should be expanding the weapons rules to encompass 45 degrees downward. The rulebook only mentions weapons being able to fire 45 up, no mention of down. I would also like it if only jetbikes or jump infantry could assault "skimmer-flyers".

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

How do you managed to take photos of this thing and STILL not manage to show the rear. Is a profile shot really that hard?

From those pics it still appears to have nothing other than a thin line joining the tail, engines and wings. And the turret is still a POS.

I agree about the turret looking 'off,' and I think subbing in a Razorback turret is the way to go. As for the tail, it's not the right angle to tell.

Perhaps in the raised area in the rear under the tail or maybe he rides on the wing like the gremlin in Nightmare At 20,000 Feet. But seriously, folks, 40K transports are like that old college fad of phone-booth stuffing, but with more imagination and more violation of the laws of physics. And I'm really glad these days the transports are all a bit undersized because I have enough trouble storing my enormous 20-year and growing model collection as it is. The more pictures there are of this Stormraven the better I like it.

There are pictures of the new Furioso fully assembled out on the BoLS Lounge now as well. It will be great for Chaos Dread conversions with those talons...

Good eye. Either that's the magna-grapple or Dreadnoughts have their "area" on top of their heads.

Sweet Pics but I am not pleased with the Idea that all chapters are going to get the Stormraven I wanted it to be a BA GK thing but what can ya do.

That Dreadnought looks interesting. These new pics of the Storm Raven also make me like it a little more. As for the BA players you guys still have the Baal Predator a new Dreadnought kit, fancy guard and the Sanguinor (living saint from WH basically ) so no real need to complain about it.

Wow. I had forgotten about the Magna-Grapple. I 'spose I'd shunted it off to the "Too stupid a concept to remain in my standard memory" section of my brain.

And it looks... silly. Not as bad as I thought it might be. Still, I'm amazed they actually made a part for it. Still a stupid absurd concept with pants-on-head slowed rules. On the bright side at least Ward didn't call it a "Blood Grapple".
