How much plasticard have you used for all of this?

I got my self 3 x A4 10/1000" and 3 x A4 x 30/1000" [thats 0.25 and 0.75mm respectively] btu I've only used half of that in the construction but I'll probably use most of what's left putting big ol' spikes and armour plates on it.

Rawson wrote: Great stuff! Keep up the great work! You have a paint scheme in mind already?

Yes and no.... I want to transfer the camo from my orks pants but still keep it in a true-to-life military style.

this is one reference image i've found that I'm thinking of;

The good ol' F-18E Super hornet... we should have bought these of the yanks rather than waste so much money and feth up are carrier fleet by investing in the F-35 JSF.... but less politics, more WAAAAGH!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
right, today I'v set about turning the orkiness up to 11 on this thing... so Tusks and spikey bits of unnecessary armour

and that's the turret for my first, Grot-zooka Tank.

Fo apocolypse I want a full squad of grot tanks to role in formation with each of my looted wagons, which;

1) looks cool as &,
2) gives rolling cover for my boomguns whilst the grot tanks have a natural 5++ WOOHOO!

Question: 1) boom guns are ordanace arn't they?, so they are'nt going to be able to move up with the grot tanks and the grot tanks range is'nt that far (cant remember the inches)
Question 2) or are you going to have the grottanks stay infront of the boom gun tanks as a screen for the boom guns?

just wondering. oh and regardless it would look cool though

Answers

1) it's only Ordinance Barrage that is "move-or-shoot" so they can roll up behind
2)bingo.... though the grotzooka only has half the range of a boomgun, so not too close to be ineffective themselves

Regards.

a might bit off the topic here but I think that pic is of a pair of Russian Su-27's, not F-16's.
I play Air Combat a little too much, but all of that is besides the point!

Absolutely stellar work. You easily put my plasticarding skills to shame. I have a pair of Fighta-Bommas that might just start taking a few pages from your book (or armor plates from your plane, as the orky saying goes )
Im certainly looking forward to seeing the paint scheme turn out!! Should look gorgeous with either of those camos!

I do have to ask tho... How precise are you with your cutting? I seem to fall to the addage, "Measure once, cut twice, patch till it fits'. Your stuff, though, seems to be absolutely exact!

Ah yes, you're right! They have a strikingly similar profile but the F18 hasn't got the extended ventral fin and wing-tip weapons pylons. I think I'm gonna go with the one on the right as it's close to my ork's camo print but only on the top surface of the a/c. The belly is gonna be either plane and dark or plane and light [or every other colour under the sun XD].

with regards to getting accurate cuts. slightly over measure. offer up the new panel, then you can trim to fit. Then once it's fit, you can trim it and smooth the edges until it looks like it was born to be there.

More pics to follow later, I've got the day off today so I'm working on the back end and underbelly. I want to have it ready to paint by tomorrow ;D

Ooooops! Guess thats what I get for reading numbers too quickly! Read one, typed another, then thought of a whole different one!

Im absolutely stunned by the speed at which you're working- Thenks for sharin a bit of insight into your method, as well!

It doesn't feel that quick... I've been doing this for about 3 weeks now :O

I've done all the panelling and detailing now, nearly 100%. Using it for the first time tomorrow. Going to Warhammer World, Nottingham for a game of apocalypse with a bunch of other Navy lads from over the country massive joy.

I also calved a flying stand out of pure diamond with nothing but the power of telekinesis and it was so beautiful that it could make even the most hardened hard man break down into tears. However, after crying all the fluid out of my body, I decided to to replace it with this GW flying base.

Just the gargantuan task of riveting the last 75% of it as required!

Good choice on the stand, those diamond ones get a bit passe after a time

And I'd say you were working fairly quickly too. Then again myself and several of the guys I follow may not be the spediest examples out there
