Well done quite a bit more tonight, he is coming along!

First I put a layer of codex grey mixed with skull white on the areas I wanted white.





Another layer with more skull white than codex grey. Then a final layer of skull white and filling in some more of the details.











I'm not convinced with the second chapter symbol on his right arm, it was supposed to be smaller but I just can't down size it.

Comments welcome.

Did a bit more detail on the Chapter symbol and did manage to down size the smaller chapter symbol on his right arm. The white seems to have come out better in these photos.

Are we giving them a Dakka campaign badge again?

As for the Dakka Badge, I dont reckon it should be done as it will take away the authenticity of the model being pre-heresy
The last badge was only done on 2 or 3 models anyway so I reckon leave that out

I need to perfect your method of doing white armour, it looks messy but the end result is fantastic.

Hi all

Just a heads up to say the PC I run the CNC off died a death a few weeks back and it's taken me until now to get the software sent through to get ready for machining again, but everything is now back up and running and I'll be running off the masters for the bases this weekend. It should only take a few hours to do each master, so we'll be able to get moulding and casting in 2 weeks or so once we've cleared a big commission and got our battlesnap order book cleared. We're struggling to fit everything in to evenings and weekends at the moment but once my fricking laser beams show up this weekend everything should run much smoother

Thanks TBRP it takes a while to work up to it but it is worth it!

Not all of that is blood splat, mostly weathering but the camera hasn't picked it up well. Still looks good in RL.

I think I'm going to toss my hat into this one if its still going. I'd like to do a Death Guard Marine, possibly another too, time permitting (man...I keep taking on projects like this, I'll never get anything done, lol).

You can base them if you want mate but SoRice has volunteered to base all the models if you dont want to

Heh, I've actually already completed most of the model. Just the backpack left, and I guess I need to decide if I want to base him or let SoRice.

Is there any date on this coming to an end? as i just found a mark 4 marine (minus arms) on ebay for under £10 that i would be glad to paint up and add to this, as im soooo sick of red it would be imperial fists.


edit: well, imperial fists if rice doesnt mind me jumping in on them with him.

BTW that Death Guard battle-damage looks so over the top, I think it's Awesome it's very Grimdark. He looks like he has been kicking Ass and taking a very long list of names. I really wish I could paint white in that style, everytime I have tried I have failed, any pointers?

Thanks, He's nearly finished! I always work up from a black undercoat. First layer is codex grey then progressively add more and more skull white to a top layer of skull white. After that carefully black line the vents and edges to really contrast the white. Good luck with your attempt!

Well, while i wait for the mark 4 marine to be delivered (i got a nice mark 4 backpack to go with him XD) i decided to get him a base ready, made him up a ruined asphalt/concrete base. Still needs some cleaning up a bit but here are a few pics.
P.S. i broke my camera in ibiza and am finding the macro mode on this new 1 to be lacking a bit.
