Ok just an update on the previous conclave amount raised

The £65 has gone throught to Doctors Without Borders and as I am a UK Taxpayer I can give giftaid which adds £18 to the total

I think with the re-vamped version on going, I think we are going to smash this amount right up and it's going to be a real feel good project!

Ok I need some opinions on what to do.

I wondering which mark of armour I should use to make all the characters I will be submiting and which type of bolter ?

I have decided on using the command squad to get the parts needed for Talos and Little Horus Aximand but What should I use for Lucius and Kharn ?

Looks like Techie is indeed going to be iron hands. Blood angel is mid build, need to strip a mk6 backpack, also using SG legs, a BT torso, and bolter from the fw promo mk3 guy. Pics soon!

Okay, I've (very) slightly retouched a Space Wolf – my second – I painted for a contest a couple of years ago (and which didn't garner a single vote in that contest ):

Hi all

Just to let evryone know the parts for the Valkyrie kit ahve finished machining so we're looking to crack on with the masters for the display bases for here! One thing is, I noticed Gathering Storm is doing terminators which come on 40mm bases, so the question is do me and Ed make:

a) 25mm and 40mm surrounds, with everything scaled accordingly so that they can be allocated to the entries accordingly
b) 40mm surrounds only to give people a bit more space to pretty up the bases their power armoured marines are on by mounting them on 40mm bases. Obviously a problem in game terms but I would have thought whoever wins would just put the marines on display?

Let us know what people think and we'll get making. As we'll be casting the bases up, there will need to be space between the closing of the entries and the auction to give us time to get them to smurfwedge and [so]rice

I reckon option a) as I dont think we will have that many Termies to be honest and I can just let Harry know how many 40mm there needs to be

I think option (a) sounds good but I am planning on doing true scale marines. I will probably need 40mm bases for my two marines.

My 1st Base coat on the Lunar Wolf. Needs neatening up and a some highlighting/ shading Final detailing. But at least at the halfway stage it is starting to look like what I want.

BA captain and Iron Hand techmarine both built - some sort of progress! Should we be basing them or what? Terribly confused?

I have mine on a standard (small) base so I prefer option a. But if 'm out voted I do have a few scenic 40mm bases left so its not a complete loss.

I've set up files ready for 25 and 40mm bases which we'll be making this week (off camping with our girlfriends at the mo ) so we'll make both then cast a bunch up when we know how many we'll need.

Ok. What I've done, for now, is mounted them so they're readily removable from current basing.

I've got the Word Bearer finished. I still need to start work on the Pre-Heresy Thousand Son though. If I can, I'll post a pic tomorrow.

The bases being supplied will be drop in bases to fit 25mm or 40mm standard bases that have been based already by the contributor (you)

Planning to start the Night Lord tonight. It involves taking a Chaos Raptor, chopping its feet and flames off, filing off any odd bits of arrows, filling the gaps and ridges in the shoulder pads and converting up a plastic bolt pistol arm to be firing forwards. Then mounting his so that he's vaulting over some ruins.

Really, really clever use of shoulder pads. Sorry, it's the random details I like!

Thanks graven. Oddly, they are bits I was most pleased with and the staff at my local GW liked my clever use of the pads (which are modified chaos terminator shoulder pads).

90% done some black line tidying, a final pin wash (in a very thinned thraka green), Base to be attached, and a satin varnish with a light Dullcote.

I cut the nose off a beaky marine and used green stuff to sculpt the pre heresy look. picked a shoulder pad with a big skull on it to help with the Death Guard insignia With the other shoulder pad I added the split down it and put on some rivets. I will add more rivets to both shoulder pads once the green stuff has cured. Oh yea I added the old school chain blade to the bolter to make him have more of a pre heresy feel.

I can't wait to start painting him!

I think I might have to finish him off tomorrow, it's just such a cool project! I'm starting to want to do an entire Pre Heresy Army now!

I'll be honest I wasn't 100% on the helm, but now I see it painted, I'm totally sold. Great work mate.
