I have 3 land raiders.. but none are airbrushed :( I should repaint them! In the meantime, i'm working on things I could use for my BA army... up next is a Librarian Furioso!

40x tactical marines + devastators
5x Assault Terminators
1x Land Raider Crusader
1x Stormraven (bought another one yesterday)

If I was to be doing tanks red instead of green what colours would you suggest? With the Highlight going up to Blood Red.

And with the black shading on the tanks, how is that done? How do you know where to put the black shading?

Eh, if I was doing red, I'd probably use a dark brown + scab red as a base coat, then a highlight of scab red, then blood red.... then a filter layer of Valljo Transparent Red in order to blend the highlight layers.

I do the black shading by using layers of black green ink and black ink. I just spray black ink on the other side of any gradient where I hit it with green highlights.

A 1:1 mix of VMC Black Red:Scab Red, Then highlight scab then blood red?

Then with the black shading you do it directly below some of the lightest green highlights?

Pretty much. Gives an exaggerated highlight, not realisitic, but I think it looks cool.

I have trouble blending my highlight layers, so after I use the layers of green, I throw a final coat of VMC Transparent Green on it, diluted like 1-1 with thinner. Blends all the highlights together pretty nice. THEN I hit it with the black ink for shadows.

This pred is actually a repaint btw... airbrushed right over the old paintjob.

I really like the OSL on the main gun, but the colors look a bit off. Was this taken with a flash? Or did you use a different paint scheme for this one?

Really like the whole army shot Horst. Looks like you've taken to airbrushing pretty well. Make sure you drill out those H Bolter sponsons on the preds. Other stuff looks ace.

Thanks, Eggroll. Means a lot coming from you, your stuff is pretty sweet and yea, my roommate decided to try to use my pin vice to pry something out of an eldar tank he was building, snapped my barrel drilling bit in half. Still gotta go out and buy another one.

Loving the green.

I generally paint for 2-3 hours a day... whilst watching my tv.

And my next project is... another stormraven! Base coated and put on a layer of varnish.

So when you get that box I am going to be sending and there is a small (1500 point) Nurgle CSM Army in it to paint for me you will have the time to do it?

Heh, I'm planning on selling off my biker marines (I'm never going to finish them) leaving me with an almost fully painted aurora chapter army, weighing in at around 8,000 points.

Chaos WOULD be a cool way to go for a second army.... and it would be pretty sweet to have a traitor version of them. Like their arch-nemesis.
