Your talking about the Mesmer; he isn't holding a Greatsword, you just think he is....

It does levitate around a bit after the giant purple chaos laser attack so that does sort of explain things...

Full release on Wednesday lads!

Damnit, I don't think I have enough time to get my Balthazar's Fiery Gloves anymore :(

I signed up for the newsletter twice in 2009, twice in germany at the gw2 stall in 2010 and twice in london at the gw2 stall in 2010

Sadly I doubt it has any link to the beta

Sword/pistol and greatsword mesmer?

Come on. Sword-pistol swashbucker makes so much sense.

Greatsword is a bit questionable, but I guess they tried to fit that in as the scholar-class two-hander. I would have preferred a rifle myself. Rifles are Royal-Guard/Musketeer classy and would suit the chaos-laser-pew-pew better.

EDIT: Then again, I prefer guns everywhere.

Ranger used to be my main because I liked to shoot stuff. I also had heavy-used secondaries of Mesmer and Elementalist. Now I'm surely going Gungineer and Mesgunner.

Human supremacist, of course, but Charr seem appealing with their ramshackle steam-cars and war machines. Leave it to Guild Wars to, for once, have me choose a furry race.
Supposedly race makes no difference in PvP because racials are turned off.

It's the 'Jizzed in my pants' meme.

Means I like it.

I had a cruel thought when talking mesmer tactics today with my WvWvW guildies, have a guardian plonk down one of his "enemies cannot pass" domes on top of an area of effect spell (such as the mesmers random condition field) while an enemy is in the area.

Ooo, that's cruel. But I'm not sure if there's any bubble skills that aren't centred around the caster. You'll have to weather a bit of a beating.

The guardian has heavy armour and one of the highest regeneration rates in the game

A guardian with a shield and a few buffs is a pretty tough foe to beat, especially when you are being bombarded by the AoE attack.

Plus allies can use the portal skill (which is a utility) we saw in the video!

I'm trying to think of mesmer/engy synergies for us slarg but I'm drawing a lot of blanks... Guardian/mesmer or mesmer/necro has a LOT of synergy though.

Can I put a Tele under your Turrets?

HOLD IT, SPY!

You can put a tele under my turrets however only player allies (and maybe pets/minions/clones, it isn't decided) will be teleported.

Mesmers do have a skill that swaps the locations of the mesmer and a target foe though, that is incredibly useful...

Also, closed beta starts friday! That brings us ever closer to release

Did you read the description for Mantras?

Mantras may be charged up before battle, with greater effects for the longer you charge it. After being charged, they may be activated at any time; even in the middle of a channeling or spell cast.

The mantras are a nice bit of fast casting returning from gw1, I'm very interested in those

I suppose we should wait for more skill information before thinking of synergies.

A nice summary of the "ask me anything" anet did.

Mesmers get the spear and trident underwater (the melee and caster weapon, no harpoon gun )
