I used to be a WoW player, then I took a gw2 to the harddrive.

See, for me it was WoW then GW for a month then WoW again.

This time hopefully knowing some other players will keep me in the game.

See I never played WoW really, I've tried it a few times but it hasn't appealed.

I started guildwars on the release of factions in 2006, followed guildwars two news since it was first announced and I've only really dabbled in other MMO's.

If I'm honest GW wasn't a great game however it was free and better than the other free to play games out at the time, GW2 on the other hand is a genuinely amazing game.

I used to be a WoW player, then I realized the game sucked harder than a fake diamond vacuum cleaner which is also on fire (a punomenal metaphor if say so myself) and didn't continue subscription after the first month.

I don't think WoW is a bad game, hell it's popularity shows it plenty of people enjoy it (which is my standard of what makes a good game) but it just isn't my cup of tea.

I guess the reason I don't like WoW is I'm very much a person who lives in the present, promised future rewards don't appeal to me that much.

I'll be Elementalist, as I was in GW classic.

If they add Dervish, count me in for that as well. I rocked Dervish/Warrior's socks.

As dual classes and dervishes have been confirmed as not coming back I doubt your dervish/warrior will have much luck in gw2 felsi

Is everyone interested in joining the Dakka guild? Guilds are account based (like in guildwars one) but accounts can be in multiple guilds at once (unlike guildwars one).

I tie popularity to quality the same way that I tie having a green shirt to being the president of the United States of America.

No dervishes, but are there scythes?

You have to remember, Scythes made their debut in Elonia, so probably aren't going to come in until we see how they are doing 250 years into the future.

Just a curiosity. What are all your Guild Wars character names?

"Cyphus Dentheset" here.

Honestly, I'm going to use the same one I did for GW classic for my Elemental.

"Sergeant Spandex" Reporting for Duty!

The only character I've still got (for some reason I deleted my original character from 2006 a year or two ago ) that I've completed the game with is Zara Silverblade.

I'm going with Septimus something for my gw2 engineer as that's my standard RPG name

Jaeger Johanison is my Human's name.

Not sure what I'm going to call everyone else.

If everyone's going for actual names, I'll just go with "Felis Drydas".

What, spears only underwater.

Fail game, fail.

Spears are less like this

And more like fishing spears

They are the sole underwater melee weapon, tridents are the caster weapon and harpoon guns are the ranged weapon.

I'm aware of the purpose of spears, I'm explaining why spears are underwater weapons.

I honestly wouldn't say "No" to a Pike, personally.

And I would quite like my scythe back, that doesn't make the game a fail

If you want to stab someone from far away with a two-handed pole, use a rifle.

Corpses, just because the game overall is good, doesn't mean that they didn't fail at some specific aspect of it.

Indeed, I would have wanted Spears in Skyrim.

Come to think of it, Spears just seem to be neglected as a whole....

I wouldn't be surprised if pikes are added at a later date, scythes I'm not too hopeful for due to greatswords behaving exactly as scythes did in gw1.

Again I would hardly call not having a specific weapon you wanted a fail, I don't run around calling every game on the market a fail because it lacks in flaming shark flails...
