@Vik, A lot of model train companies make smokers, they are about $60 on ebay from what I see, and they have a tiny refill spout hat you syringe smoking oil into.

With my idea of the power plant I was going to have a smokestack off to one side, and rule of cool demands that it be functional. After I drop the kids off at school I'm going to swing by Walmart to check on something and pick up groceries. Hopefully I'll be able to find what I need for the generator concept.

Then I must focus on school. Will take breaks to catch up throughout the day.

Wow. You have been wicked busy. Where to even start? Guess I'll go w/ the eBay haul you won.

You have more than enough bulkheads to make all the Necromunda terrain / scenery you'll ever need in your lifetime. And with all those original cardboard sheets you are so set for templates to cut out. The entire haul is completely sick and I'm genuinely happy for you.

I'm not in love with the 'dancing' Malcadon and I agree 100% with Bruticus that playing Spyrers is a fast track to having no one to play Necromunda with. I will say the magnetization bit is absolutely brilliant and I think it is one of the coolest ideas I've seen in quite a while. Really sells the 'Predator' aspect of a Malcadon. But I still hate them.

Congrats on finding yet another haul of archeotech (old models). And your loot counters are excellent. Barricades are looking good and your elevator is inspiring. I really have to finish mine soon.

Great to see you riveting! Keep it up and you may get a PM from Dave and / or Vik.

I'm really impressed with your speed, attention to detail, and inspired imagination. Looking forward to whatever you come up with next, and especially looking forward to -ripping off- borrowing the next awesome cool idea you come up with.

*stupid typos*

@skalk, funny you should mention ripping off ideas.

You and your sexy bridge have inspired me to do something different. You raise a gate, I'm going to raise the bridge. (Need an ork emoticon to show an ork wringing his hands with evil intent).

Still in its preliminary phase, but with my final exam tonight which I am confidently going to bomb, I didn't have much time to work on this. Stayed up late last night painting, and talking to the wife who had a terrible day at work. I looked t my painted models this morning and they will be taking another super clean bath.

I'll probably field my Escher for the most part, and the card idea is out he window. Forgot that I couldn't shade/highlight white. Plus all the detail on the spryer has me cross eyed.

On the modeling front.
The stop at th grocery store netted me this, Dave might appreciate this,

It will be my power plant, unless I can find a solitary wiffleball. The tube below is just a mock up. The ball is hollow, and breaks in half, snide were Lego goodies which go added to the collection, yes I hoard those too. My son inherited all of my Legos nd my brothers Legos from when we were kids. It's enough to fill five 18 gallon totes. We have fun building stuff together.

Speaking of Dave. Supply drop.

Dave did me a huge favor and sent me a whole smeg load of strip stock and various other goodies including what I think are some Pegasus hexaformer bits. They will be used quickly, also some gears and whatnots that were timely for my bridge idea. that's for the gear Dave. Hope you checked your front porch because I got the confirmation that your stuff is outside.

I think I have an idea for a new avatar too! So one be surprised if it changes shortly. Little hint "Boom Baby Boom!"

raising bridge... cool... tow parts or one part like a draw-bridge as for a castle? or like the dutch use?

Vik I think I'm going to use magnets underneath. My modeling skills just aren't there enough yet to actually make an actuated bridge. I'm thinking gun pits on either side of the bridge to ward off people trying to bum rush across.

It always baffles me when you Americans say Legos. I'm cheerfully reading your posts with a British accent in my head and then BAMM! The illusion is shattered ( we just say lego )

The raised bridge is a tremendous idea, you and skalk are going places with your moving scenery that I would fear to tread. Very daring and impressive

My wife texted me this pic a few weeks ago, had to dig it out. Has nothing to do with any project, but since nathanie1 has a problem ith us saying Legos I just had to share.

Just finished bombing my final. I can crunch numbers all day long, but statistics is not my bag. Numbers good, letters good, numbers nd Greek letters and funny squiggles BAD.

@Dave if your needing som plastic goliaths I have a few extra of those as well. I'll get hem packed up, if our needing anything else let me know because you gave me a treasure trove, and I feel like I shorted you in the deal.

@vik, I might try using som of my technics Lego to mak the bridge move. Will have o think about that. I spent part of last week looking all over for Lego base plates. I had enough fo a 4x8 table, but can't find them nice the move.

Play Escher instead: house gangs are more fun for you and especially your opponent than Spyrers and the Eschers are some of the all-time best GW models, Spyrers some of the all-time worst.

I did like the Royal Flush gang motif but that could work on the Escher too, maybe not quite as regimented as with Spyrers. I am imagining something like Mad Moxxi or (Arkham Asylum) Harley Quinn. Neither of whom are exactly the pinnacle of character design but would translate well to Escher minis. Animated Harley is the best Harley.

I love the animated Harley Quinn. The only problem is I'm a bad painter, sometimes pray paint is just better. I was going to do spryer because I'm not good at skin tones n they only have their faces showing. I have a large collection of the Escher, so they will probably be he ones I go for. What do you hunk o the arbites? Are the too overpowered? I could use my dreamforge Eisenkern for proxies. I like the older arbites much better than the newer models, except h cyber dog is awesome. I just can't justify buying a new set to get the dog.

@dave, no ones found uses you say??? Challenge accepted, and hopefully met. Where can I get a metric ton of these babies?

Step one. Cut these babies down. Don't throw anything away. See following steps.
Step two. Cheap bulkheads

Step three. Cheap support posts, put them back to back to have a free standing pillar.

Step four, what would the future be without plasma conduits? We never need to know now. After painting you could insert your orange or green rod into the channel. Or buy your kids some of the thin glow sticks that they can bend into necklaces and they fit behind and the glow will come through just like a plasma tube.

Step five. Why did we save the cut off pieces? To keep your gangers alive of course. Split rail fence keeps people from falling to there deaths.

Step six. Still looking for an idea of the small cut off pieces.

Seriously Dave you have a gold mine if these are cheap enough. Let me know where you got them, because I have ideas. (Still need that Orc emoticon that has him wringing his hands.) will have to do.

Back from the kids field trip to "Gus" pretzels and the local farmers market, good eating all around.
Had an idea while I was gone, why use the color rod for the plasma conduit when I can use real plasma.....okay just the light kit that I'm still messing with from poweredplay.net.

Bulkhead built with0.030 thick plastic card and some plastic hard drive rails supplied by dsteingass.

I'm going to try and cut a few of the rods to see how this might turn out over a longer span, say a light walkway hopefully have a temporary pic up soon.

Arbites/Enforcers are not overpowered but they are a bit boring I'd say. They don't work like a regular gang so you don't get the full post game experience. You'll have much more fun with a house gang and limiting Enforcers to a special scenario.

There are some interesting looking revised Enforcer rules here: http://www.yakromunda.com/forums/index.php?topic=1099.0 but I am still not convinced.

also... have you ever thought about making up a new gang? i am currently thinking about using SM scouts as a base for future conversions in that direction... kinda like a dressed version of goliaths?...what do you think about that?

@vik, thanks, I like the kites on the doorway, it works out pretty good, probably better when things get painted. Right now the led are bright enough that it bleeds through the plastic card. I just built a walkway with the red plastic drive holders, not that great, and the wires affect how far the light goes down the tube.

You can tell the wires are in the right hand side of the picture. The left side of the tubes is much brighter. The bulbs are about halfway down the length of tube. The tube is about 8 1/2" long and took four of the rails on each side to do.

Here's a models eye view of what it would look like on the table.

Not as thrilled about it right now, but like I said maybe after some paint, and rivets it will look better.

@bruticus. Thanks man, I will definitely do a house gang, much more fun for everyone I think. I really have to get back into the local gaming scene. Got out of it when the kids were born and just collecting and hoarding models since. It's time to start having fun.

well... you can always make a fluffy explaination for the darker lighted areas.... power shortage...destroyed bulbs...and so on...

as for the light bleeding through... priming black and then adding the color you want will fix that i am sure....
